Abby is a good girl, high achiever and has left her past behind her. Travis Maddox is the total opposite-covered in tattoos, buzz cut and ladies man. By day he‘s a campus charmer and by night he‘s an illegal fighter. Intrigued by Abby‘s resistance, he eventually tricks her into his life and they become a beautiful disaster.
Dark themes are explored such as gambling, obsessive behaviour, underground fighting and grief. A good solid YA romance read
The book sucks but I‘m REAL excited for the movie. I also have loved the Sprouse brothers for over a decade, so props to them for hiring Dylan even though he‘s probably the last person I would have pictured for the role. This book walked so After could run. 🤷🏻♀️
I really need to get to this one soon! It‘s been on my TBR forever!

All the teenage butthurt drama you can handle, set in someone's idea of university life that includes zero security presence so people can just fistfight in the cafeteria and harass their ex's on the sidewalk freely. The stakes are will Abby choose the nice rich guy or the bad boy (we know he is bad because he has tattoos 🤣)? Who cares? Still gets a so-so as Abby is well written even though the others are pure stock characters.
Has anyone read this book and can advise if I should bail? The writing isn't bad but the university world McGuire creates reads like what a virginal HS senior might fantasize that college is like. For some reason, I thought this was a thriller. Does it get better? College courses are not called merely "history," McGuire, and freshman in college do not go to bars unless they have very good fake IDs. It's weird.
Feeling like chilling out with an audio book right now…..hope this is a good one.
10/10 - I could read this series over and over again.

Beautiful Disaster by Jamie Mcguire
Ok let's talk about this book...
This was a roller-coaster of emotions. Many times I had to put my book down of frustration because of something dumb Abby or Travis was doing. Travis was a little controlling and that I wasn't a fan of. But besides that the story was just beautiful. I enjoyed it and this story will stay with me for a long time..
A colleague of mine recommended the book as it apparently was one of the best books for young adults she‘d ever read. Anticipation overload! Turned out to be a very simple story with very stereotypical characters. Yet I could not stop reading.
The perfect combination of love, heartbreak, friendship and danger. I loved this contemporary romance, it was such an emotional rollercoaster that I'm still tearing up thinking about how beautiful it was. The plot was a perfect blend of happy and sad moments, and I really fell in love with Travis...Where can I find me a Travis Maddox please? 😂 All in all, I really loved it and I highly reccomend, just be ready for some emotional turmoil❤
YA/NA is not my favorite genre but for many reasons, one being the amount of teenage drama and chaos that ensues. I will admit that I enjoyed this story. I loved the young, toxic love these two broken people shared (does that make me crazy?) and loved how they balanced each other out. I did find myself growing bored with the continuous drama and immaturity, and the plot was a bit far fetched, but overall a decent read for the audience intended
Beautiful Disaster was a story that sucked me in from the beginning and kept me on a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the book!! 🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤
Travis to Abby:- ''You don't need an excuse, pigeon. All you have to do is ask."

Day 3
Seven covers in 7 days with no explanation and tag someone new everyday.
Being that I'm new, I'm finding this hard. If you haven't been tagged and would
like to play along...please do 😊
Oh Travis Maddox, how I love thee. *sigh*
Disappointing. Little to no character development. A lot of choices Abby made left me wondering what in the world would make her do such a thing. She was also a total Mary Sue. Not worth it. MUCH better romances are out there in my opinion.
The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn‘t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University's Walking One-Night Stand.

Oh boy. That‘s hours of my life I won‘t get back. It had its moments; there was a little bit in the middle where the writing really improved and everything sort of came together, but generally? Just no. The character building and development was poor, and because there was next to no back story for anyone, motivations made no sense at all. This SO doesn‘t even compare to the Troubleshooters series. A big disappointment.
All right, I‘ve seen mixed reviews, and I‘m not looking for great literature. I‘m looking for something like Suzanne Brockmann‘s Troubleshooters books, a little bit of drama with a romance, and a decent number of books in the series. We‘ll see how it goes.
“For reasons unknown to me, I was his exception, and as much as I had tried to fight my feelings, he was mine”
4 stars. What can I say. Travis is hot. I plan to@continue the series!
Loved loved loved this book cant recommend it enough!!!
Thank you so much for your kind gift. The reading log looks like it will help me stay organized and give good tips! Love love love the socks and can‘t wait to read this book. Thank you again! And thanks for hosting this fun swap, @JamieLou ! #thankfulforbooksswap
I enjoyed this book, despite the fact that it has some problems. This is not a pretty, fluffy read at all. Its truly a beautiful disaster. I still think its a worthwhile read though! Check it out!
I think this may be my favorite NA book like ever!
Think before you speak. Read before you think.

Abby Abernathy and Travis Maddox are from two completely different sides of the tracks... or are they? Will they be able to work out a relationship, or is their love just #WaterUnderTheBridge ?? I liked this book a lot. Plus the cover is gorgeous 😍 #AdelesMayMashUp @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
“I knew the second I met you that there was something about you I needed. Turns out it wasn‘t something about you at all. It was just you.”
When I think of books that have #butterflies on them, my mind immediately goes to this series. They are like being on an emotional rollercoaster... love defying the odds. Though I have to admit that while I enjoyed these books, I loved the series about the brothers waaaaay more. #MagicalMarch @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
I read this book because I was in the mood for something trashy, but this book was not what I wanted. The hero, Travis "Mad Dog" Maddox, was violent, abusive, possessive, controlling. His and Abby's relationship was extremely toxic and unhealthy. There is nothing sexy about this kind of man. I am all for the alpha male in romance, but I felt like the character of Travis was just a douchebag. IRL, I would tell my girlfriend to stay the hell away

This book ended up in my book graveyard. It's a crime against all the decent good girl/bad boy books...which is a trope I love, but not when it is handled with such...well, let's put it this way...this book is awful. In every way. I bought it on a whim and I can't believe I gave it 160 pages of my time. ::Shudders::
"Sono ubriaca Travis. È l'unica scusa che ho."
"Vuoi che ti abbracci finché non ti addormenti?"
Non risposi.
Si scostò per guardarmi negli occhi "Per principio, dovrei dirti di no" rispose inarcando le sopracciglia "ma quando mi ricapita un'occasione del genere?"
Appoggiai la guancia sul suo petto e lui mi strinse tra le braccia sospirando "Non hai bisogno di scuse, Pigeon. Devi solo chiedere"
Enjoy the little things in life, because one day you will look back, and realize they were the big things.#positivevibes
