Welcome to Litsy!

This was a fun book to read. A Passover Seder in which the hostess is trying to impress her daughter‘s boyfriend‘s parents while not being impressed by her other daughter‘s choice of boyfriend and his mother. Add in a brother with news of his own and it makes for a very interesting dinner for sure. Everything wraps up nicely in the end so it was a good story.

August TBR!

A fun, light-hearted romp about family drama across the Seder table. The matriarch wants to impress her daughter's new (douchey) beau and his family--some Rothschilds! She's less thrilled with her other daughter's choice of a lower class dude and his loud mother. Then her golden son causes waves. The action is pretty soapy and funny; a real pallette cleanser of a book. And of course things wrap up nicely with lessons learned at the end. #JewLit

Began w/ delicious baked Brie w/ fresh raspberries, chips&onion dip, cheese&crackers,olives&pickles,radishes; main course: turkey&gravy, honey-glazed ham, my contribution:delicious cheesy ranch potatoes which everyone loved, sweet taters, mashed taters, stuffing, corn&carrots; dessert: fruit salad, 3 kinds of pie,& cookies!😋

Following the shrimp cocktail appetizer on this snowy evening: corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes marinated for 10 hours in Guinness Blonde lager in the crockpot; smokehouse green beans; sautéed mushrooms & garlic cloves in olive oil & balsamic vinegar; and Cabernet Sauvignon.
