julesG Your library is open at night??? Wow. 🤯 Here they start telling you it's closing time at 6.30pm (they close at 8pm). They used to be open Mon-Sat from 11am to 5pm, but seem to have had a bit of a think during the pandemic (it's 10am-8pm now). 1y

thegirlwiththelibrarybag @julesG, my branch only has one “late” night - where we close at 9pm. Otherwise it‘s 6pm on weekdays and 5pm on weekends. Awesome to hear that they found funding for extra hours post pandemic - what a win for the community! 1y

thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Clwojick, I wish! I could keep vampire hours if that was the case 🧛♀️ but alas - I must mostly keep to the 9-5 lifestyle (depending on the shift I get - sometimes it‘s a 10-6 lifestyle and very occasionally a 1-9 lifestyle) 1y
julesG I'm actually not certain where the funding for local libraries is coming from. I assume it's out of the local government pockets and the coffers for education have been fuller since the lockdowns. 1y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @julesG, here local government funds the majority of public libraries with a little help from State government (maybe some federal funding too - but that might be more for the state libraries) 1y
