Here‘s my review for a book I just finished reading. I‘m counting this for #readyourkindle and #bookspinbingo. For #readyourkindle, the book that was picked for me when the numbers were drawn was Naughty Boss by Whitney G but I found out that it‘s the first book in a series and I don‘t want to start a series right now so I switched to this graphic novel instead because I had to read something.

This story was so much fun. I wasn‘t sure how this story was going to go when libby sent me this book, but I am glad Libby did. The story of living your truth no matter what. Also knowing your value and fighting to be seen. This story is about love, discovery, and don‘t forget FASHION! 8 out of 10.

The Prince and the Dressmaker blew me away! I adore this story of a prince who has been hiding himself & the woman who comes along w/ out judgement to make his dreams a reality.
George Takei's They Called Us Enemy should be required reading -his story of being forced into an American Japanese internment camp during WWII History we need to know

It‘s been a long time since I‘ve so deeply enjoyed a graphic novel. I loved the art style in this book and the mesh between older words and modern slang. The dresses in here were amazing! 5🌟

I am reading Gender Queer this week, it is the most banned book in the States. A memoir of exploring gender and finding yourself.

Adorable story and great illustrations. 😄

Jen Wang mesmerizes readers by perfectly laying out rich dialogue placed at key moments that weaves interactions between characters into a beautifully written piece of art.

This isn‘t normally my type of read, I steer very much clear of books that are classified as graphic novels or manga. To be clear, all types of book are valid and I just generally get too easily distracted by pretty pictures.

That being said, this was just adorable. It kind of felt like a hug from a loved one after a good long cry. Just comfort and safety.

(2018) Adorable story, brilliant illustrations. This is a good one, y'all. Also: banned.

Earlier this month I joked about a book banned in Boston in the 1920's, maybe because "somebody probably mentions a nightgown." Ha. Turns out 1927 can't beat 2022 for petty prudery, because the Nampa, ID school board just voted to remove this one from libraries "forever" because someone wears a dress. That's it. No punch line.

Not groundbreaking, but a good twist and story about finding yourself in the era of fashion in 1700s (ish) Pari. Our main characters Frances And Sebastian had great plot line and character arc. Defiantly pick it up.

Heartwarming and sweet Cinderella-inspired graphic novel about a Prince who loves to wear dresses.

This was such a sweet and heartwarming graphic novel. It follows Frances and Sebastian's friendship as a talented dressmaker and a prince with a secret - he loves to wear dresses. The story was adorable and the art was gorgeous, with amazing fashion and the Parisian setting 💃🏼

An amazing, heartwarming historical fiction graphic novel about a prince and his dressmaker. Fantastic art work and wonderful story.

Drop everything and read immediately is my advice… no idea why I took so long to read this one!

Couldn't put this one down, finished it in like, half an hour.💖💖

Absolutely a pick. The story was wonderful, romance and all, and the artwork was gorgeous. I have to read more by Wang.

TW for a scene where the prince was traumatically outed, by a character's deliberate malice.

Oh, I hope the plot isn't romantic! I'm in the mood for something friendship focused, and this seems perfectly positioned for that.

This was unbelievably cute

This book was so beautiful, so uplifting, and so dear, so powerful with its LGBTQ+ representation—and then I read a review that calls out its historical parallels 😫 The worst part is a friend just told me another favorite book had problematic representation of King Leopold II of Belgium, the worst mass murderer in history who brutalized the Congo—and I still didn‘t recognize the mc‘s father in this book is King Leo of Belgium, same time period.

A delightful read and the artwork is gorgeous ❤️

Okay, but seriously. This book is so good. The art style is amazing, the emotional drama is so captivating. The dresses are so pretty! This book was really amazing. I completely recommend.

Am I weeping because I'm so happy that a book like this exists that is not only adorable and lovely but more importantly might help non-binary and trans kids to feel seen and valued? Yes, yes I am. Today was rough as heck, but things like this give me some hope. 🤴🏼👗

Not my best reading month this coronacation but I tackled some doozies!

Fave books were the one tagged, The Abominable by Dan Simmons, and Last Days of Summer by Steve Kluger. So many other great reads though! Let‘s see what July brings!

When I read an article that this story was picked up by the makers of Frozen, I had to grab a copy! I can‘t even describe how ADORABLE this story is! I think it‘s become my top read so far. The storyline, the art, the characters are just so cute and perfect. A great lighthearted read during these tumultuous times.

This was like dessert. Gorgeous art. Sweet story line. Cinnamon roll characters. I loved every page of this. The dresses were beautiful. Lady Crystallia was fabulous. If you need a warm bookish hug, look no further. 🥰📚💋💄💅🏻💃👑

I LOVED this modern fairy tale story! Sebastian is a genderqueer prince comfortable alternating between masculine and feminine gender expressions, but afraid to reveal this to his parents. Frances is a young seamstress with big dreams whose fashion designs catch Sebastian‘s interest. Their friendship is adorable and sweet, and I loved everything about this graphic novel!

The prince feels at home in suits and in dresses, and when he meets Frances, a talented young designer, he finds someone he can share his secret with, and most importantly, be himself with.
