I listened to this on audio and ended up really enjoying it. It was just a fun, escapist novel. The main character was frustrating at times, but I ended up really liking her.

This started off really good, but I have to admit I wasn‘t as interested in some parts (possible like the Russian spy stuff and when the reader followed the “bad guys”). But following Cassie as she tried to figure out what to do certainly kept me interested. And knowing and following the “bad guys” separately did keep up the tension in parts of the book, so there was a reason for it.
THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT eBook is only $2.99 right now. Have you read the novel that @USATODAY called an "expertly turned thriller"? @DoubledayBooks
Meh.
It was a bit difficult to empathize with the protagonist, as her poor decision-making skills played a big part in all of her problems. It's an okay read, but I wouldn't rush out to pick it up. Now I have to check out the show, because I do feel the storyline has potential.
Still two days left to enter to win signed copies of these three novels. And, remember, my cursive is very good (humble brag). Click the link to enter. Thanks, @doubledaybooks ! https://sites.prh.com/chris-bohjalian-signed-copy-giveaway
Watched just the first episode of the series ages ago and never made time for it again but when I noticed this on Cloud Library I decided to give it a go.
I liked it.
It was an okay thriller. The beginning and end of the book were good, but the middle was a bit boring.
Ugh. I didn't like this one at all. Every other sentence was about drinking and alcohol. I don't care if books talk about that, but it didn't need so much of it. Also I know this character is suppose to be drunk a lot, but even when she was sober she made the most stupid decisions. I can't stand books that make their main characters make stupid decisions at every turn. Just can't stand it. And what the hell was that ending? 1/5
Love love love my package!!! #cozyfallswap Not sure who was more excited for my box, me or my cat lol!!! Once picture was taken he stole my stickers!!! 😂😂😂😸🍁 thank you @TheBookDream !!! @Endowarrior21

Well this was fun! I have NOT watched the show so I was interested throughout to see what was going to happen. Cassandra is a flight attendant who enjoys her drunken debauchery. After a night in Dubai, she wakes up next to a dead body. This is the story of Cassandra trying to fill figure out what happened when she got black out drunk, how to deal with the situation, and what's next. I listened on audio and enjoyed having three different ⬇️
The beginning and end of this book were both really good but it dragged in the middle. I liked how it wrapped up (despite it being hard to believe) so I'm calling it a pick but it's a soft one for me.
This is my 3rd Chris Bohjalian novel, after Midwives and The Hour of The Witch both of which I rated 5 stars. I enjoy it but was my least of the 3 and I will probably rate a 3 on good reads. Still will not be my last of his. The ending was unpredictable but very unrealistic and I found it humorous for some reason. Shes a very unlikable character that has a drinking problem which causes a hard fast downward spiral.
The weather has cooled so my audiobook and I are enjoying a little porch time. 😊
This was my first @ChrisBohjalian book, and it certainly won't be my last. Wow! So many unexpected twists and turns in the plot, I didn't want to put it down. Cassandra is a flight attendant who likes to drink too much and have a good time. She flirts with a man on one of her flights and ends up spending the night with him, but wakes up the next morning to find him dead.
While the lead character is a mess (are we supposed to find her comedic? I don‘t - I feel sorry for her), I enjoyed this, esp the ending. Never saw the television series but this makes me want to watch to see if there are any differences. #AuthorAMonth
I liked the premise of this book. It has action, mystery and suspense. I think it describes very well a person who has drinking problems where the person take poor decisions to resolve problems that usually put his/her life at risk, no self control. But the ending of this novel was so abrupt, too easy and unbelievable😳It was like a great fall how it ended🤷🏽♀️3⭐️
Celebrate The Flight Attendant TV series, season two, which lands April 21 on HBO Max : the eBook of the novel that inspired the award-winning show is on sale for $1.99 for a limited time. ✈️📚 (U.S. only)
Really enjoyed audio of this gripping thriller. Chris is a #litsyauthor who posts about what he is reading as well as his own books. Looking forward to his new one, The Lioness, in May. Follow him at @ChrisBohjalian #Airplane #SavvySettings @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Eggs
This wasn‘t nearly as good as I thought it would be 😕. The main character, Cassie, was so unlikeable. She completely refuses to take any responsibility for her actions or change anything for the majority of the story. She just does what she wants at all times, regardless of the outcomes, but expects those she comes into contact with to do as she says or becomes indignant. The show did such a better job building her character and making 👇🏻
Spasibo, Rossiya! (This is the beautiful, new Russian edition of The Flight Attendant. Look for season two of the HBO Max series starring the brilliant Kaley Cuoco as Cassie Bowden and developed by the amazing Steve Yockey this spring.)
Good but a bit overrated. Kind of redundant with character having the same thoughts over and over, i.e. could I have done this?
***My review for this book is on the comment area. A 6 part of a satire I wrote as an example of the reasons why I didn't like the book. Just for FUN! 😂
My personal opinion. 🙂👍 ⭐ 1 star

There's a word limit. I can't post the full text in the description. My apologies
DNF at 20 minutes…
The last time I was slapped in the face with this much description and information, I was reading an instruction manual for a food processor.
At least then, I learned something…
Book 95🎧
12hr listen and kept me interested the whole time👏🏻
I won‘t lie, I wanted to shake the main character silly sometimes😂 Not my typical thriller choice but I very much enjoyed it!
A flight attendant and a passenger get a little too friendly, then things take a bloody turn🩸Is anyone really who they say they are?
This is the forward quote for The Flight Attendant and instantly caught my attention😶🤭
50% in and still hooked!👏🏻
Made my first book bingo card for the last month of my 100 book challenge! ❌
Currently at 94/100… so I‘m looking to blow it away!🌬🌬
Fast paced mystery/thriller with an unreliable narrator. I found myself caught up in the story and curious about where things would end.
Although this isn't my favorite by Bohjalian, it was still a great escape for a few hours. Now I'll have to try out the TV series.
This is one of the rare occasions where the show is better than the book! That being said I still really enjoyed it. Fast paced and I really loved the main character.
An alcoholic flight attendant wakes up in a hotel room in Dubai next to a dead man who's obviously been murdered. That's how this compelling psychological thriller begins. It's definitely a slower burn, and that didn't bother me at all.
Recommend if you like the trope of the somewhat unlikable character (or at least one who makes poor decisions consistently) finding themself in an unlikely, dangerous situation that they must navigate.
Reading in style!

Just okay. I get a little frustrated with self-destructive characters but it wasn‘t just that which kept me from fully enjoying this book. I guess it didn‘t quite feel like a mystery or a thriller to me. It also seemed to progress slowly and then speed up at the very end so the pacing could have been better. Not a bad read but I‘m glad I didn‘t spend money on it and waited for the library hold.I won‘t be watching the show. Just not for me 😐
I can‘t believe it has taken me this long to read this book! I refused to watch the show until after I read the book and I loved it! It kept me sucked in from the first page. Now I can start the show on HBO Max! 🌟🌟🌟🌟!
Compelling story of an alcoholic flight attendant who inadvertently gets caught up in foreign intrigue when she wakes up in a strange hotel room and the man she slept with is dead. I seem to have a habit lately of reading books about people I don‘t like.
Just found out this is now a series on HBO Max, with Kaley Cuoco playing Cassie. Too bad I don‘t have it.
You guys it's so cold!! Hunkered down with this book today!
My #bookspin and #doublespin picks for February! Will make my #bookspinbingo board later! @TheAromaofBooks
Jan 2021 - read before I watch / general fiction with a little mystery thrown in - Not sure I will watch the show based on the book. Entertaining story, disliked the characters but I think you‘re supposed to, and generally had it figured out. Friend who suggested the TV series was blindside by the twist. The book had it laid out.
I would never have picked this book for myself. I read this for #LMPBC and thought it was marvelous. The MC is a total mess. An alcoholic with a pension for self destructive behavior. When she wakes up in a hotel in the UAE next to a guy, who was a pick up in a long line of pick ups, that is now dead, it all comes to a head. 4⭐
1) Yes, the tagged author and @Georgia_Hunter although she‘s not active. Getting ready to read @rachelm ‘s book The Butterfly Effect
2) No, I don‘t really write reviews.
3) The Bookwanderers would be fun.
Would you like to play @j9brown

It was pretty good. Definitely a different concept and I appreciated that the main character was an alcoholic-you don‘t see women portrayed that way very often. Just watched the series on HBO Mac and it was pretty good too. Different than the book, but I liked the differences.
This was between a “pick” and “so-so” for me. The premise was great, the setting intriguing, and the characters dysfunctional enough to be interesting. There were even a couple of great plot twists that kept it suspenseful. However, the story got bogged down in a few places and could not hold my attention. Also thought that the story was a bit anticlimactic. I guess I expected more. This is a flight I would not be sad if I missed. 🤷🏻♀️
Just finished the book on audio and am in the midst of watching the series. Seems to be an unpopular opinion here, but I didn‘t love this book and am not particularly loving the series either, though I will follow through to the end. An intriguing base story line, but too convoluted with the spy element and I just really don‘t like the main character at all. I generally like Chris Bohjalian, but this one missed the mark for me.
