Told in 1st person the narrator is a killer in Glasgow and the opening chapter sees him pick a business card from the prize draw box by the till at a curry restaurant to choose his next victim. I really enjoyed this book from a writer new to me and as it is part of a series (altho this is not obviously start of such) abt the police trying to catch him i will definitely be trying him again.

I read about 75 pages from The Odyssey this afternoon and I feel like not reading for the rest of the day. Anyone else feel that way after reading a bunch from a book, that all you want to do is just veg in front of the TV? Mind you I just did 2 days of cleaning.

Birdsong28 Glad I am not the only one. I can only read so much in a day then I have to have a break, especially if I finish one book I have to do something else before I read the next one to 'wind down' from the previous book. 📚📖 6y

MrsGagnonreads2024 @kaye #8 when I was born they only had a boys named picked out seeing my parents where told they where having a boy so they decided to name me after the 3 most wonderful women in our family I used to hate my full name now I love it. #19 I grew up in the sticks and was taught how to use weapons to hunt and one day got bored and wanted to challenge my self so I had my grandpa teach me how to shoot blindfolded and by age 10 could shoot all those from 6y

britt_brooke @CBee I‘m a life-long biter, too. 😩 I‘ve stopped a few times but always picked it back up. This time, I ordered some Color Street from a friend as motivation. I use some bitter-tasting polish for the first 2 weeks and it sucked. It was VERY hard to stop biting and picking at them. They were disgustingly short so it has taken a long time. Now, I have to keep them painted or I still want to mess with them. Such a tough habit to break! 😬 6y

Scurvygirl The year my mom retired, she was in a bank robbery. She was the teller and gave the guy a ton of sass.🙄 6y

britt_brooke @Scurvygirl Oh my goodness! You‘re supposed to just give them the money, lol! I was a teller, but it was my coworker who was robbed. I could tell that‘s what was happening, though. I couldn‘t see his hands and didn‘t know there was no weapon until it was over. It was my second to last day working there as I‘d decided to work for a different bank. Later, I had to ID the robber. 6y

britt_brooke @saresmoore Fortunately, the robbery was nonviolent and didn‘t have a profound effect on my life. It‘s just a good story. But the shooting became a part of every Heath HS student, educator, family member, and the community as a whole, that day. 😔 6y
