The kids are away out with their dad so this is what my Saturday night is looking like.
Finally picking up the last book in the Mortal Instruments series. 100 pages in and loving being back in the shadowhunter world.
This was definitely my favorite book from TMI. I'm glad I read the Infernal Devices before reading the last three books of this series since it mentions characters and events from TID.
How can I have finished the series........no more Clary, Jace, Alec, Isabelle, Simon or Magnus. I have read all the books back to back that I am going to feel somewhat empty without them! This series has been fantastic and I could not put any of the books down. Although the ending has left a few unanswered questions, but i have a feeling they will be found in Cassandra's other books. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (for this book) 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (for the series)
City of Heavenly Fire
I have had a love/hate relationship with these books through the entire series and this book was no exception. In my head I danced between 3 and 4 stars, almost sat at 3 stars toward chapter 29, as I cringed through the next few chapters, but then bumped it back up to 4 stars with the ending sitting finally at 3 ½ stars…that is the way the whole series seemed to go.
I think City of Heavenly Fire was my favorite of the series. It‘s still not one of the best series I‘ve read, but Clare‘s writing has improved a lot over time and the vast, lovable cast of characters made me attached to the story.
Now onto The Dark Artifices! I already love the characters from what I read of them in Heavenly Fire, so this should be fun.
This may be my favorite book in the entire Mortal Instruments series! (Still behind The Infernal Devices trilogy of course.) Jace and Clary were not nearly as annoying as they usually are, and I liked the introduction of new characters. I‘m actually pretty excited to read The Dark Artifices series, which I wasn‘t expecting seeing that it took me so long to get through this series.
I LOVE Jonathan. Is that a bad thing? Hope I‘m not the only one.
1. Great ending to one of my favorite series.
2. Sadly, only 18.5. I haven‘t felt much like reading since June.
3. I quit my job and went back to school.
4. Buying new shelves for my library.
5. Hi @JayneG
Congratulations on 10,000 litfluence and happy birthday!!! 🎉🎉🎉 @Molly_the_mezzo I'll take any excuse to show my fur babies! Its impossible to get them to sit nice together. So this is my favorite so far. 😀 #bentleyboo #oliveoil #muchlove #Mollysbdaygiveaway
I did not make a pie,” Alec repeated, gesturing expressively with one hand, “for three reasons. One, because I do not have any pie ingredients. Two, because I don‘t actually
know how to make a pie.”
He paused, clearly waiting.
Removing his sword and leaning it against the cave wall, Jace said warily, “And three?”
“Because I am not your bitch,” Alec said, clearly pleased with himself.

I‘ve finished the Mortal Instruments! I feel like I‘ve been reading them for ages 😂, but I enjoyed this last one. Lots of setting up other series so I‘ll have to read them too at some point!
As far as supernatural YA goes, these were pretty good- compelling and with some great characters. Some annoying characters too though! Some bittersweet moments in this one, but I do feel 6 books may have been excessive for the arc. 4/5 stars!
What an ending. Definitely one of the best series to date. She created an entirely different world to the norm and wrote the story in such a way that it will never truly leave you. Hats off to you Cassandra. Dark Artifices is next.
City of Heavenly Fire is still my current read but IT'S EASILY BECOMING MY SECOND FAVORITE BOOK from TMI series!
I'm loving the atmosphere, the tones, the dialogues, Jace... Basically EVERYTHING.
Cassandra is part of the downworld.... She's a witch. I'm sure of that.

So I was able to complete this book before midnight yea I will start a new book in the morning. My first journey into young fantasy and the writing and storyline was so smooth and flows so well that I didn‘t even have to adjust my thinking process to much. I want to thank the individuals whom recommended this series
When New Year's Eve is approching...
And friends invite you over but they will drink as there was no tomorrow and you won't and the only thing you'd like to do would be sitting at home in front of the fireplace and READ.
YEAH. NOT HAPPENING THOUGH.
What did I do wrong in my life?
I was a little worried about how this series would conclude since I still maintain it should have been a trilogy (as it was originally supposed to be, from what I understand). But this was quite good and I think the author wrapped it up well. I mean, obviously it's not totally "wrapped up" since the world continues in TDA, but still. A few tangents that made it drag a bit, but exciting and emotional and fun, too. 4/5 ⭐️
This book is fucking huge, probably because Cassandra Clare couldn't stand actually having to end the series. Have high hopes for this one though - books 4 and 5 were a little slow but I've seen a lot of people say it picks back up again here. Also, I don't know if this was intentional or not but the flame coming out of the cup sure looks like it's coming from his crotch. 😆😆😆 #nowreading #currentlyreading
Thoroughly enjoyed reading these stories. The last book was great & very close to being my favourite of the series.
The book was fast paced, probably more so than some of the other books. The ending was satisfying and tied things up nicely.
I've finally started to read the last in the mortal instruments series - think I'm going to be sad when it's all over (sorry for the fencing emoji, only one I could see with a sword 🤦🏻♀️)
