More Happy Than Not | 
pickThis was the only available book of Adam Silvera at our library right now, so I went with this one. I don't know what I expected, but it sure wasn't what I got. It took me a while to get into it, but at some point the story really takes off. It's heart-breaking, moving and sometimes hard to read. And it's a very, very, very important message Silvera shares with us.

pickThis story left an indelible impression on me. I felt it on so many levels; so much so, I had to take a few weeks' hiatus to pull myself together. As thought-provoking as it is sombre and sad, the novel depicts the pursuit of happiness through a revolutionary memory-alteration procedure: a soul-searching experience for a reader who consequently questions what they would willingly risk for true happiness; like Aaron Soto, my answer was... ANYTHING.
Felt this one while juggling Silvera and McQuiston like my life depends on it 🎆✨️.

panThat was not an enjoyable read. The pacing was all over the place. The start was way too slow and the end too fast.
There were way too many characters. None of which had any personality or development. I didn't like any of them. I didn't find this an emotional read because I did not care.
The twist was predictable and implemented in a really confusing manner. It's just not good.
I'm not trying to be predictable, but lo and behold, another Adam Silvera quote 😊. I simply can't resist.
I hope this book will helps out of my reading slump.

This was the first book I've read by Adam Silvera and it will NOT be my last! Can't wait to dive into the next one.

pickThis was a gay, YA, version of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. When I read Camp Carnage I hypothetically asked myself if I split the 2, which would I be in if I had to choose. A slasher book or a gay conversion book. I chose the slasher because if I died at least I would die still being me. I forget that there are those who would choose the gay conversion scenario. This book was heartbreaking and more real than I expected. Pick!
YA is a genre I often read and a book that has left me a lasting impression on me is More Happy Than Not. Adam Silvera shies away from clichés and sugar coatings. He tells a raw, very human story with the good, the bad and the ugly. My favourite YA read to date.

Forgot to post this yesterday. Every Monday, I start my classes by reading the first chapter of a book from my classroom library. This was yesterday's book. After reading Adam Silvera's other novels, I can definitely tell that this was a debut work. I found it took me almost halfway through the book to be truly interested, but once I got there I was eager to pick up where I left off. Although it was a great story, it didn't leave me with that heartbroken feeling after reading a beautiful book that his other books did, but I still remain a huge fan.
pickI found this book a bit slow to start with, but after the twist was introduced it picked up pace and I loved it! It is the first book by Adam Silvera that I have read, and I will definitely be reading more!
pickThis book was absolutely heartbreaking. Aaron is gay but after many awful events happen in his life he decides to go to the Leteo Institute and have all of his memory about being gay erased. As he begins his new life his starts to struggle with his feeling for his best friend that is a guy. Throughout this whole book I just wanted Aaron to be happy. This was a beautiful debut novel by Adam Silvera!
The school that I work at is opening 3 hours late today because of the snow we got yesterday. I open the school which means extra reading time for me. Happy Friday!!!
pickI‘ve had this on audio got a while and finally listened to it. So good. Has some great twists and turns. I thought it was overall pretty well done and it kept me engaged.
After having a very stressful morning of working with someone who is not pulling their weight while working with 9 two year olds, it is time to relax. I hope and pray that all the little ones sleep the whole nap time away! I am one tired two year old teacher! 😴😴😴
pickUnexpectedly deep & insightful debut. Have read one other of his so I knew what he could do, but was still pleasantly surprised by how strong this was. I especially loved the sort of twist to the story that explains a lot of things &answered some questions I had about the plot up till that point. Was handled really well & made me go “OH. Okay. Yes.” Then my heart broke 1000 times. Couple minor quibbles but overall really liked & recommend. 4/5 ⭐️

One of my oldest and dearest friends is named Genevieve so A+++ choice, Adam! Especially since it‘s so uncommon but is such a lovely name.

Truly, one of the best books that truly moved me. It managed to knocked me into my senses and it still keeps me on verge. This book managed to show (me) that being 'different' in a society is never a problem to begin with.

pickThis was a heartbreaking book. Everything seems normal as a teen boy is discoving himself and who he is...until a little over half way into the book it's revealed that he already knew all those things and went to an institute to try and forget them and the procedure slowly "unwinds". It strongly reminds me of a less optimistic Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind. There are also strong overtones of dementia at the end, but not called as such. 5?
Alright guys. I‘m DNFing More Happy Than Not, FOR NOW. it‘s taken me since the beginning of December to get to 66 pages and I started The Diviners at work tonight and am on page 72. I‘m going to give MHTN another try when I‘m in a more contemporary mood.
I‘m about 66pgs in and thinking of DNFing. Does it pick up? I‘m not finding myself wanting to pick it up and read it. Is it worth pushing through?
Starting this on audible next. Hopefully it's better than my last book haha. Anyone read it?
