pickThis was a buddy read with my older brother. He really loved the beauty in some of the writing. I loved the characters and the friendship. I really appreciated Mr. Vernon as a character and how dynamic each of the kids were.
This was such a fun book, it made me laugh, gasp, and look away in horror. Highly recommend!

pickAs I've shared before, I work in a bookstore and was recently put in the children's section and realized I was woefully behind on kids' fiction. So I've made an active choice to remedy that. This is another one that is easy to read, has a good message, and is done so with humor, and yes, magic. I agree that sometimes magic can just be holding a book!

pick⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 This middle grade book was delightful! I listened to this on audio narrated by Neil Patrick Harris who made it very entertaining of course.
Planning to get through these 2 today because it's officially middle grade May in the TBR & Beyond group!

pickThe cracks are beginning to appear in the magic misfits group, along with creepy ventriloquist dolls all over town. The pressure of the up comming talent show combined with Theo's siblings all being at home have combined to make him question his future prospects; Magic or Music. Of course the threat of Boso's goons are still looming over the group. Another great book in the series. 3/5 Stars

pickAnother great book from Neil Patrick Harris. This is a super fun story with a great cast of characters and heaps of fun extras. The audio book is AMAZING. Harris narrates and provides voices for 6 children, their mentor, the villain and his ENTIRE gang of unique goons-which includes a Barbershop Quartet.
pickThis was delightful!!! A ragtag group of child magicians come together to stop a crime boss (also a magician). NPH‘s reading was great! He juggled the cast of characters beautifully. His writing style was also mesmerizing. I LOVED that he included lots of peeks into the world of magic- especially step-by-step directions for tricks. I‘m sure the print version of this is just as charming.

pickThis one was less a story of its own and more a lead up to the next one. I enjoyed it, but it's the one I like least of the series. The next one sounds like it'll be good, though.
This is the first time I've noticed the cool stuff under the jacket, which I really liked. I assume the other ones had it and I just didn't see it.

My niece made her own “Once Upon a Book Club” packages for everyone in the family. Then, once we‘ve all read the book, we‘re gonna have a family book club meeting. She‘s too cute!
My niece decided to start a family book club. Our first book is The Magic Misfits, and she gave everyone gifts to open when we get to designated pages, like Once Upon a Book Club. I‘m so in to this! I‘m hoping to get to my first two gifts before I have to be a grown up and start prepping dinner. Thankfully we aren‘t having company today, so my house can remain a mess!

I mean anything that NPH does I will support-love him. I did this one on audio because it was read by him. Fun middle grade story about a runaway meeting his “tribe” and finally finding a place he belongs. Carnival setting with magicians so a lot of fun characters. Also one of the kids has two dads 🥰
