This was fun! The characters real and thought out except for the ten year old near the end. It was a nice break from the doom and gloom.

#bookspin for June and after LOVING Sleeping Giants this follow up did not disappoint! I really enjoy the format and this has some great twists and turns! Looking forward to reading the conclusion to the series…
I enjoyed this book, listened to the audiobook via BorrowBox.
Read for reading challenges.

I've read this once and listened to it twice, and I have to say it's two thumbs up👍👍 for me...every time! This series is flipping insane and I'm really enjoying relistening to it…even though he killed off one of my fav characters in this particular book.
I prefer Book 1 but still enjoying re-listening to the audiobook on the Libby app
Sleeping Giants was insanely good so picking up the sequel now!
I am loving this sci-fi series. I now need to finish it off by getting the third one very soon! I love how the author isn‘t afraid to really reinvent the world as we know it. And I love the writing style - using reports and transcripts but it still really flows.
I can‘t believe it‘s been so long since I‘ve been on Litsy! So happy to be back. Here‘s to 2021 and may you all have wonderful book hauls!❤️📚❤️
Dollar Tree finds recently. Had anyone read any of these? The only one I‘ve read previously is Waking Gods, which I did and loved on audio. But the hardback has a secret cover lol

Not quite as good as the first book, but a lot is happening here. While in the first part the characters were central, here it's defenitely the story part. There really is a lot going on here and it makes me looking forward to reading volume three.

Book 2 of the Themis Files trilogy. This is fantastic science fiction! Highly recommend it in audio book format. I am enjoying this series so much! Wow. ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
I enjoyed the second book, but not as much of the first. Looking forward to the concluding third book in the series.
I. Loved. This. Book. So. Much. But. Holy. Sh*t.
This trilogy may be one of my favorite audiobook sets of all time. It‘s incredibly done. And the story itself is HIGHKEY INSANE AND LITERALLY JUST WHAT
That‘s about as kosher as I can get.
I was a little unsure how book two was going to go since I loved book one, but not to worry. It was absolutely insane and interesting and fun. Loved it.
I don‘t know why I waited so long to read the second book in this series. There was none of that second book lull or filler here. I think the format works amazing for this story and it was hard to put down. Most of it I didn‘t see coming. An amazing science fiction book that reminds me why I love this genre (when I‘ve been struggling with it lately).

Definitely enjoyed this a lot more than the first one. Several years since the initial introduction of Themis to the world, our team faces a new challenge when the creatures of these robots come to earth with their own robot.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was very sad to see what happened to some of the character, but overall I'm impressed by the different narratives the author is pulling together. Again, the novel is mostly interview style, but I did not think that took much away from the suspense. In fact, I think a more distant pov gives an interesting take to what's happening, and makes you look for details and information that is often found in climaxes.
It‘s reading week for my program, but unfortunately, I have so many assignments due next week that I can‘t spend much time reading the books I WANT to read 😭 I‘ve been sneaking chapters in between work though!
My Barnes and noble haul with my birthday gift card.
I forgot how much I loved the first book in this series. This book devastated me and I can‘t wait to continue the story.
Fantastic! This series is a must for any sci-fi fan!
Audiopuzzling in between meeting the needs of my needy, er...darling, child.
Still working on this one on audio. I‘d switch to print if I weren‘t trying to finish three other print books. The readers for Eva and the Russian agent are bogging me down a bit, especially Eva. Her accent just does not fit. And is horribly distracting. And grating. But, I‘ve got to see how this one ends!
Continuing this series on audio. This started out as a so-so for me, in particular due to one cast change and just some overall cheesiness, but the narrative turned strong in the second half and carried it into a pick. Not going to change the world, but good fun, especially when I‘m stuck in the car. On to Part 3!
🦠Takes place approx 8 yrs after book 1.
🦠Follows same format & structure.
🦠Slowly amps up tension at 1st, but then one event kicks everything else into suspenseful gear.
🦠Genuine reactions & consequences to events make everything feel very real.
🦠Just when I thought plot twists couldn‘t surprise me, I was knocked onto my arse; it‘s glorious.
🦠Emotionally evocative at times.
🦠Superb development of cast.
🦠Surprise finale.
🦠Highly Rec‘d.
It‘s time to continue with this series!! Book one blew my fucking mind with how good it was. I‘ve heard book two is even more astonishing. My body is ready! ✊🏽✊🏽

I thoroughly enjoyed this sequel to Sleeping Giants!! It opens up nine years later and immediately dives into plenty of excitement!! The body count was higher than I expected here and another #cliffhanger ending has me thankful that there‘s no waiting involved for me to dive into the conclusion!!
1. Waking Gods by Sylvain Neuvel
2. Sarah Waters
3. Wallace & Gromit
4. Watermelon
Btw, can we just skip the letter X? 😜

Calling all Illuminae fans!
Have you read the Sleeping Giants series? I‘m missing one of the books in this series, but the inside book cover is spectacular. I loved these books. So unique in the writing along with the story line. Recommended!
I wasn‘t a fan of the second book. I loved the first one and this one was super disappointing. I didn‘t love this because I it lacked the personal feeling of the first one and the mystery. I just didn‘t like the way this one was put together.
What?!? Smh, I just finished this and now I have to wait for the next book until I get my monthly #audible credit. Such a great story. I‘m a bit sad that I don‘t get to know what happens next.
We went and voted today and yes, I did wear my shirt when I went. Now to listen to this book while I sew some curtains for our classroom shelves. 🙂

🙋🏽♀️I‘m in and starting off by listening to the tagged book as I get ready for work! #13in3 @Samplergal
I'm not sure l which book I enjoyed more, this one or Sleeping Giants. While I had a difficult time getting into book one (interview format), I really wound up liking the story. This one was even more engrossing as I'd developed affection for some of the characters and grew to dislike others.
The story went off in a different direction than I was anticipating and made me think about things I'd not previously considered. On to Only Human.
I'm so, so glad my library finally licensed the last two Themis Files novels on audio! These full cast productions come across like radio plays, and the actors transform the material into something truly special. I think if I read the books in print, I'd find them cool but emotionally flat, while on audio I'm all in.
This one does have volume problems with both Vincent and Rose near the end, though. They're SO QUIET compared to everyone else.
You guys, I made an ENTIRE SOCK! It was supposed to be for my mum, but since it fits me I know it'll be too small for her. Guess I'm keeping it.
Now I've gotta make another. This one took me maybe half of TWO DARK REIGNS, a small chunk of WAKING GODS, three eps of THIS IS US, and an entire season of THE MAGICIANS, but I did have to unravel and rework a few bits so I hope the next is faster. #audioknitting
#XmasInJuly Bk1 This is the 2nd book in The Themis Files series, the first book, Sleeping Giants, I actually received in another swap from @Robothugs mother @sunflowers This is the gorgeous hardcover edition that has a decorated casebound cover under the jacket.

A new #MakeMeReadIt pile for after Children of Time. This set is series I'm partway through:
- Mira Grant's Newsflesh (Blackout)
- Sylvain Neuvel's Themis Files (half of Waking Gods, then Only Human)
- Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows (Crooked Kingdom)
- Foz Meadows' Manifold Worlds (A Tyranny of Queens)
Let me know if you vote both here and on Twitter so you aren't counted twice!
Been really bad at posting lately. I have way too much going on but I am loving this series. I‘ve been listening to the audiobooks and the narration is amazing. The writing is spectacular and I‘ve found myself laughing at several points throughout, though this certainly isn‘t a comedy, ok maybe my humor may be a bit dark as well, but nevertheless, loving this series!
I‘ve got to tell you, audio really is the best way to experience these books. The format of the books & the full cast narration just really makes the story come alive. In this installment, we see that while a giant alien robot may be cool, it‘s not so cool when those aliens aren‘t so happy with what our ability to utilize that robot means. Now the question is do I read my hard copy of Only Human or wait for the hold on the audio to come thru 1st?
I bought myself some fancy tea for the equivalent of $7, I‘m halfway through a trilogy and have the entire trilogy on my Kindle courtesy of my library, I‘m loving this Camomile and Lemongrass tea, and I‘m sitting in a comfy armchair in a dimly lit room. This is my happy place. Perfect way to wind down before bed. 😊 #bookandtea #tea
🌟🌟🌟🌟 While I loved this book the plot didn't strike me as well as the first one did, this one seemed more about plot explanation more than anything. I am going to miss Anonymous though...I did like it and I look forward to how things unfold 🤩🤩🤩
So I dove right into this one (another audio book) and I am NOT disappointed thus far and I'm a pretty go ways in. 🤩🤩🤩
