Great slow burn romance, but needed an editor. Some parts felt repetitive and clunky.

A bar fight lands Alex on the tabloids, so Lauren‘s hired to keep him in check. What will happen when they start to spend a lot of alone time together & get to know each other?
I liked this one a little more than the 1st one. It had a bit more funny scenes & good banter. I liked the mfc, just not the mmc so much. I liked the diversity in plus size character & they didn‘t focus on her weight. I wanted just a little more spice.
Enjoyed this one! I liked the banter between the MCs and there were many funny moments. For a rom-com, this also touched on heavier issues, such as abuse, both physical and emotional.

#pop23 - romance with a fat lead
#auldlangspine book 6 finished a couple days ago.
Another fun contemporary romance. I liked the witty banter between the two MCs & appreciated the way their attraction grew as they got to know one another better. No lust at first sight which was somewhat refreshing. The whole fanfic angle was so fun & had me laughing out loud a couple of times. I‘ve been meaning to read Spoiler Alert for awhile so this has me itching to pick that up soon.
"This is the best day of my ******* life!" he shouted. "Only! One! Bed! My second-favorite trope!"
Alex is an actor & constantly in trouble (he loves fan-fics & writes them about his own character). Lauren is an ER therapist & needs a break, so she takes on a job becoming a babysitter for Alex. Red carpets, secluded houses, west coast roadtrips all included. some very important messages with abusive relationships, ADHD, & being body positive & growing self worth. i think reiterating her size was overdone a bit but over all I really enjoyed it
My starting goal for #JoysofJune is to finish any 8 books/graphic novels/comics, etc. Here are some audiobooks I‘m hoping to choose from. This selection includes my remaining #bookspinbingo books and books that match some of the #BigJuneReadathon prompts. 🌼
When your fave coffeeshop introduces new summer drinks and you have all day to read, tagged book sums it up perfectly…all the feels!
This was a cute rom com with flawed, realistic characters. I liked the body positivity message and showing that love comes in all sizes! Alex and Lauren truly brought out the best in each other. I don‘t need the sex scenes, but they didn‘t overshadow the story, so I didn‘t mind them. Recommend if you like romance books.
I am so in love with this Illumicrate version with the stained edges. I love special editions of books, although sometimes I buy them and then find I don‘t care for the story. Hoping it‘s not true in this case, although I just started it and I‘m only a chapter in so far.
I don‘t know how to feel about this book. There‘s definitely a very strong message about abusive relationships and getting out of them. The male mc gets upset when others verbally put down the female mc. But then he spends practically the whole book doing the same but it‘s ok because he‘s joking 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Considered a fat-positive romance, I could have done without the repeated and over repeated, and reiterated again and again describing Lauren's body shape. WE GET IT! 😣 It started to feel like the author was worried we'd forget she was shorter and rounder (and bird-like 🤦) from chapter to chapter. But the storyline was a fun open-door romance that kept me up well after midnight.
So good! I liked it even more than Spoiler Alert and I loved that book! Heartfelt and so funny-this book just put a big old grin on my face. Can‘t wait to read more from Olivia Dade!
My coffee was perfect, this book is not 🤣 I liked it but I don‘t love it. There is lots of fun dialogue and some great messages in it, but maybe I‘m old? Some of the sexy parts were just too graphic and a bit repetitive.
My February romance
I have been waiting this whole book to get a Florida location for Alex, trying to triangulate. His Mom lives on the Gold Coast, but ah! He bought her that house! Anyway, the book is running out of pages to convince me that he's not just from where I am from, the obvious answer.
I think that maybe the best thing about romance novels is the many opportunities to hang with annoying dudes (I say this as someone who is an annoying dude in my heart)
Hey, Alex is from Florida! I love when a character is from Florida.
All the feels totally lives up to the title! Wren and Alex had the perfect snarky sarcastic banter that I just love. It was a pure delight reading their journey to love and acceptance of each other. This is a great series and again I love the Game of thrones series finale shade!
This had some endearing qualities, but Alex referring to Lauren as round multiple times was not one of them.
Just finished listening to the audiobook it was due back in 7 hours so it was close. I quite liked this rom-com - the main characters are unique- they are not the standard Hallmark couple - it‘s funny and sweet and poignant ( I may have shed a tear ). Of course there‘s the requisite HEA I so need in these pandemic days, so thumbs up
Alex felt like a modern flawed man. A man who acknowledges his short-comings and and strengths. Wren was a nice balance to Alex.

I wasn‘t prepared for how aggressively ALL THE FEELS lives up to its title. It‘s all about two people who learn to recognize what truly matters, invest in themselves, and defend their positions, individually and as a team. I squeed and I cried and I cannot frickin wait for Olivia Dade‘s next book. 4.5 stars
I started ALL THE FEELS last night and I‘m already halfway through! It feels mighty good to read something short(ish) and punchy again.
I got through a fair chunk while I waited for this crumpet bread to rise and bake. The recipe wasn‘t a complete success (I think I need to cut down on the flour next time), but the flavour‘s good and it made an excellent canvas for a Montreal smoked meat sandwich.
I am so on the fence with this one, I live the representation of plus size character and ADHD. But I just did not like the characters that much. I think the banter is a little mean spirited, and just not something I enjoy reading. 3⭐️
Another adorable fandom-y romance from Olivia Dade. The impulsive star of a GoT-like TV show gets stuck with a minder, a former ER therapist who is the new bane of his existence. Except when she's not. I love how Alex falls for Lauren and the way he falls for her unique features (Lauren is not beautiful and described as "bird-like"). Definitely a bit smutty but also really sweet.
So far I‘m really enjoying this audiobook. Grabbing some quiet time before the festivities: Merry Christmas 🎄
Forced to listen to an #audiobook, because her royal highness won't budge.

A cute romance novel. Many of the major plot points were alluded to in the first book in the series, but it was still nice to give Alex his own book and his own love story.
Listing to a Zoom talk with Olivia Dade through my local indie today alongside @sebrittainclark . I loved Spoiler Alert so I really need to get my butt in gear on reading this one now! Also Olivia Dade is such a delight, definitely recommend her books and her talks.
This is fun and sweet and was exactly what I needed. Alex is the hero equivalent of a big friendly puppy – maybe a golden retriever – who bounces around causing chaos with a flick of his tail. I didn‘t reread Spoiler Alert before I read this, but this is probably a little less… explicit than you might expect from that. But that‘s not to say it doesn‘t have any sexy times– it does, but it comes later in the story than maybe you would expect.
I loved this book so much! I love that Lauren is not your typical perfect skinny character. She has such great personality and is a caring person. Alex was also such a sweet character, even though he could be thoughtless at times. Seeing them come together and their story unfold was so awesome. I definitely recommend this book. Thank you to Netgalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC of this in exchange for my honest review.
One of my favorite books of the year! It made me so happy, the title says it all. It is a funny, sweet, and at times heartbreaking book. Olivia Dade writes characters that you fall in love with. Alex and Lauren were both fantastic and flawed and perfect together.
What????????? Why on earth would you want to stay at a hotel on the San Andreas fault????? She has lost her mind.
Look what dropped on to my kindle yesterday? Am I already 150 pages in? Why yes, I am!
My reading pace is still SO slow, but at least I've been painting... Just look at these cute ladybug cement stones! 🐞😍
4/5
After Alex gets into a bar fight, his showrunners hire Lauren to be his minder and to make sure he doesn't get into anymore trouble until the final season of the hit show Gods of the Gates airs. But both Lauren and Alex discover the other person isn't who they assumed as they get closer together over the course of their working relationship.
I loved book 1 and wasn‘t sure that book 2 could possibly live up to it, but it does! This one is even better than book 1 and I absolutely adore it! I couldn‘t stop reading until I finished it all in one read and it is glorious. I love the characters, how they work everything out. This is so witty, I couldn‘t stop snorting with laughter. And so touching I could stop with the tears. Cannot wait to see what she writes next!
