Read for #DiverseCozy & #Scarathlon over a bunch of readathons that I‘ll list in comment. This is a slightly different cozy where the MC is a 300+ year-old alchemist who moves to Portland, Oregon & finds here self involved in solving a murder & trying to reclaim a stolen book to reverse the aging spell for a reanimated gargoyle statue before he is frozen solid for hood. I enjoyed the PDX setting & the mystery overall. The 1st book in the series ⬇️

Finished tonight for #DiverseCozy The first book in a foodie cozy series, I liked it overall. The MC is a Cuban-American anthropologist & cook who has just moved back to a wealthy suburb in Miami with her husband & young son. When 2 murders happen & her best friend is the chief suspect, Miriam is on the case. I liked the MC but would have preferred it if she communicated better with her ⬇️

I didn‘t get a chance to post my August recap yet, but it was a productive reading month as I finished 18 books! The work books were in process from July but everything else was read in August. This was a quick read with amusing short stories about a very smart & tricksy thief & con man in Paris in the early 1900s. I knew nothing about it going in, including that there‘s a Netflix series Lupin, based on the character. Enjoyable for mystery fans-there‘s even a story where he crosses paths with the great “Herlock Sholmes.” (I read the Kindle Unlimited edition pictured)
