Only 13 out of 100 (sigh). But better than last week. 😆
I'm tagging 1984 because I thought it would be on the list but wasn't.

@Dabbe

dabbe I think we still have more to go with the 1900s, so it may still be coming! And re: your score and comment, 🩵🎯🩵!!! I'm right there with ya! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩵 4d

I did almost the same as last week. I believe I had a score of 14 last week, and this week it is 13. More than half the books I read on the list was required reading in school.

My favorite was The Hobbit.

I'm so late today so if you want to play consider yourself tagged.

dabbe More than half of this list I had never even heard of! 🤣 Thanks for playing and sharing. 💙 4d

#threelistthursday #tlt @dabbe

Six better than last week. This list is killing me! 🤣 For my 3 faves, I went to book noir: two Hammetts and one Chandler.
1. THE MALTESE FALCON: “And when you're slapped you'll take it and like it.”
2. THE BIG SLEEP: “You were dead, you were sleeping the big sleep, and you were not bothered by things like that.“
3. THE THIN MAN: “Nora: “How do you feel?“
Nick: “Terrible. I must've gone to bed sober.”

ChaoticMissAdventures I have a canvas print of Maltese Falcon I loved the vibe of the book! 4d
dabbe @ChaoticMissAdventures How cool is that? You need to post a pic! I loved the book and movie so much that I taught an American film noir unit to my juniors as a reward at the end of the year. They loved it! To have them come into the room before class started and voluntarily talk about what they thought was going to happen next was priceless! 😍 4d

8/100 😭 😭 😂 😂
I don't think Peter Boxall and I share many literary pursuits, though *some* of the ones I haven't read are on #mounttbr
💙All Quiet on the Western Front was a “Whoa“ book for me.
💙Just remembering Pippi Longstocking gives me so much joy. I should re-read.
💙I do appreciate that these lists venture outside the usual canon.
#tlt #threelistthursday @dabbe

dabbe I can't believe that I still need to read ALL QUIET. 😱 Thanks for playing and sharing. 🤗 4d
BooksandCoffee4Me Oh, I still remember how hard All Quiet hit me! It shares the universal emotional experience of those fighting a war, regardless of time or place. 4d
lil1inblue @BooksandCoffee4Me It was so powerful. I'm so glad I read it in high school with my favorite teacher. We had such fascinating discussions about this book. 4d
lil1inblue @dabbe It's worth the read, but emotionally difficult. 🤗 4d

No wonder she wasn't one of my favorite teachers. 🤣 Thanks for playing and sharing! 🤗 4d

#Bibliophile #ZInTitle I read this years ago and really liked it . Captures the culture of Germany between the Wars .Rainer Werner Fassbinder did a 15 hour film version of this book. This book was also in the list of titles in this week‘s #ThreeListThursday quiz. Franz is out of prison, trying to built a life , gangsters, petty thieves, unemployment lines,& other challenges stand in the way of his stability.

dabbe Looks like a W🤩WZA one! 2w

#TLT #ThreeListThursday should say 1900s actually.
I‘m surprised I am not a bit higher. Really read many around the WWI era.
Room with a View , Howards End EM Forster fantastic. I love James Joyce, you don‘t need to read Ulysses, read Portrait of An Artist as a Young Man, The Jungle , Great Gatsby of course. E E Cummings Enormous Room is an impressive book about the WWI era.

dabbe I fixed the error; thanks for catching it. #TFPAS (Thanks for playing and sharing). 😊 2w

The Secret Agent | Joseph Conrad

ABYSMAL. I never thought I‘d be grateful for The Great Gatsby, but at least it enabled me to check one box. Hemingway was another and I‘ve already forgotten the other two. I‘ve owned copies of three of the pictured books (two for 30 years!) and lost all desire to read them. The only one on the list I still want to read is Conrad‘s The Secret Agent. #tlt #threelistthursday You‘re killing me @dabbe 🤣😭🤣

dabbe This list was horrific IMHO. Most of them I was like 😳! Never even heard of most of them. And I agree with your choices as far as they've been on the TBR, but I really don't want to read them, especially THE JUNGLE. Too many other more enjoyable ones out there! We'll have to find some better lists! #TFPAS (Thanks for playing and sharing). 😊 2w
