Emma and Miss Edwards are having a nice visit when Mr. Musgrave unexpectedly shows up. He sits with the ladies without chaperone and questions Emma on her 👇👇

MicrobeMom Father‘s health and her sister‘s marriage. Mrs. Edwards comes in and isn‘t happy. She tells Mr. Musgrave he should arrive unannounced with unchaperoned ladies. He stated he had to in Lord Osbornes order to find out Mr. Watson‘s health. She is not buying it and properly reams him out. He quickly takes his leave. Emma wishes she had a person like Mrs. Edwards in her live and reminisces about her aunt. 3y

The Litton kids visit for Christmas. H is not allowed to be with the them. Mrs. Dean cleans him up. Hindley and Edgar insult H and he throw hot applesauce at E. H is beaten and locked up. C goes to comfort him and show him how to get out.

This quick change from Past to Present was really confusing especially when on Audio. I had to listen twice.

As for the Chapter as whole, it's just more people be awful and then Heathcliff begins to plot.

In chapter 7, we meet James Morland and John Thorpe. James and Isabella are clearly taken with each other.

John is giving me major Collins vibes talking about how fast his horse is. When he talks about how he will drive Catherine around, I kept thinking of that scene from Clueless at the valley party where Cher tries to get Ty in to Elton's car 😆 (wrong Austen novel, I know)

Annie1215 There were a lot of great moments in this chapter that were so telling of Catherine‘s good nature. I really enjoyed it ☺️ 4y
