WOW! This is an old poem I wrote in 2004. It was published in 2005. The third and last poem I ever got published. I love writing poetry from time to time. Should I publish a poetry book? 🤔 I've never though about it till now.

“Desert“ talks about how a man compares his suffering to a desert. At the end of the poem, we realize he's living a chimera instead of his real life; an exit to all his sufferings.
“Viewing our life from a different point of view can help us feel better in a time of need.“

5. It was interesting and not what I expected. I always thought this was sweeping tragic romance but it‘s the exact opposite. There were no characters to love or root for or even love to hate.

There is power in the writing, and in examining the structure, and the themes of love/control/abuse. 3y

Andrea313 8. The word I keep coming back to is "unrelenting". Emily Brontë doesn't give a shit about our feelings! 9. Yes, I viewed this differently through older eyes. I first read it in high school and it didn't make much of an impression. I think I didn't know what to do with it, after reading Austen and Charlotte Brontë- there was no love or moral integrity or anything to strive for here. As an adult, I really respect it as a full-on epic tragedy. 3y

If she could bring those emotions in a reader, she‘s written it well.

All the hidden meanings in the writing was great. 6. I can‘t time off a favorite😕 7. I think the fact a female writer of the time created a work of art is why it should be a classic, but I never realized I wasn‘t missing anything from not reading it. 3y

I have a dilemma!

I've adored these book covers for years and loved the series as a teen. But after rereading them all recently, I hated the stories.

Do I keep them for the sake of the covers? Or do I unhaul a series whose storytelling I no longer enjoy? #poll

I‘m 145/231 pages and while I like the concepts presented in the book I‘m struggling with how it‘s written. The pacing is weird, the sentence formatting is weird to me. There‘s long winded tangents and then short staccato like sentences; but it‘s like they don‘t flow nicely. A lot of telling and not showing. Is it worth continuing? #exitwest #poll #continueornot?

haileybean @Megabooks I‘m enjoying the concepts, and open to it having doors left open (BA DUM TSSS) it‘s just the actual writing. Something is obviously propelling me forward or I wouldn‘t have given it this many pages. I‘m just worried the writing style is going to leave a sour taste 5y
