Hey #TeamSlaughter!

The #TriptychBuddyRead discussion is finally open! It‘s seems that it was a pretty good divide between those of you who loved it, gave it a so-so, and didn‘t enjoy it at all. I love to hear your thoughts!

Please comment below your thoughts on the book, and let‘s have a chat amongst the team!

🌟5points per comment🌟

rsteve388 It was okay... I listened to an abridged version which I didn't realize until after I read it I am sure the full version was better. I did enjoy how the story was narrated from different perspectives including the actual killers. 5y

Clwojick @rsteve388 I jumped between the physical book and the audiobook, which I enjoyed well enough. I probably would‘ve enjoyed it more had I stuck to the physical book only, since I found the narrators female voice was a bit annoying lol. 5y
rsteve388 Yeah ugh that's the worst when you can't stand their voice. Ruins the story. :( 5y
Clwojick As for the story itself... In true #KarinSlaughter fashion, I knew it would be dark and gritty, as most of her other books are. I didn‘t find it as gritty as some of her other books, but it still had its moments that make my flinch. I love Will Trent, and found that myself sympathizing with him as the story progressed. 5y
Clwojick I also liked that she kind of gave away the killer early on in the book. The mystery isn‘t who‘s doing the crimes, but how and if they will get caught. 🙌🏻 5y
Sleepswithbooks I really enjoyed this book and now a new Karin Slaughter fan! 5y
Clwojick @Stacypatrice yes! I have a few more of her books on my shelf that are bling moved up on the list! 5y
Lizpixie I enjoyed it, it wasn‘t her best by a long shot, but it introduces Will & his diabolical wife Angie, which is its highlight. I didn‘t like Will at first, mainly because I loved Jeffrey so much, but he‘s grown on me💁🏻‍♀️ 5y
EadieB I've read all of Karin Slaughter's books. I think it's best if you start with the Grant County series before the Will Trent series as that's the beginning of the timeline for Sara and Jeffrey. Her last book, The Last Widow, I did not enjoy as much as it got too political but hopefully she won't keep the series going in that direction. 5y
Charityann I enjoyed this book. I hadn‘t heard of Karin Slaughter before, but now I‘ll read more of her stuff. 🎃 5y
Liatrek I‘m so glad this was our team buddy read because it introduced me to Karin Slaughter and this amazing series. I enjoyed the characters and the story. I really like her style of writing and also read the The Good Daughter. I can‘t wait to dive into the rest of the series😊🎃 5y
Clwojick @Lizpixie surprisingly enough, this was my first of her Will Trent books. ☺️ I can‘t wait to read on. 5y
Clwojick @EadieB Thanks for the suggestion! I‘ll keep that in mind. ☺️ 5y
Clwojick @Charityann I‘ll admit to reading more of her stand alone books, but I‘ll definitely be continuing with this series too. Some of the members in the group were talking about starting a #SlaughterBookClub ♥️♥️♥️ 5y
Clwojick @Liatrek woohoo! I‘m glad I chose a good one! I‘ve been familiar with the author for a while now, but I‘m happy to see that this event has introduced her to other. 🧡 5y
Bookwormjillk This book was more violent than what I would normally stick with, but the twists and turns kept me going. As someone mentioned above it was different knowing who the killer was but not how they‘ll be caught. I‘ll read more of this series but after reading this and Misery in one month I need a break from unplanned amputations for a while 🤪 5y
Sarahreadstoomuch I was really glad to read this, even if I didn‘t like how poorly all the ladies were characterized or the audiobook narrator. I‘ve never read books like this, and I‘m encouraged to try more. I did like the twists and some of the “mic drop” moments. 5y
FantasyChick Slaughter's been on my radar for a while now but I haven't had a chance to pick up one of the books yet. I'm glad I started with this one! I enjoyed the twists and I actually really like books that give away the killer from the beginning. The guessing to how they will get caught is exciting! I also really liked all the connections between the characters. Looking forward to continuing the series 5y
hes7 I‘ve only read a couple of Slaughter‘s books now, but I did not enjoy this one as much as the other. Will was probably the only character I liked, which made it hard to keep caring through the end of the book. It did have some good twists and surprising connections, though, that I appreciated. 5y
alisiakae I thought it was okay. I would have probably liked it more if I hadn‘t listened to the audiobook. The narrator was terrible, especially when doing the female characters. 5y
Clwojick @4thhouseontheleft You must have listened to the same audiobook as me! 😂 I totally agree with that. 5y
samantharoberts I loved the book! I completely agree with @Clwojick that it was cool to know the killer so early on in the book, because it actually was a huge shock to find out that the detective Michael was John‘s cousin Woody! I think if she waited until the end I would have figured it out myself and it wouldn‘t have had that same “shock” factor. I really found Angie irritating, to me she was the worst part about the book. Overall I loved it! 5y
alisiakae @clwojick Probably! His narration was so distracting! I definitely plan to read more in the series, but not on audio! 5y

Sorry for the lack of updates! Yesterday was a very busy day and I tried to use whatever time I could squeeze in to get as much reading done as I could. So far I‘m at almost 17 hours which isn‘t too bad. I might actually make it to 24 by midnight!

I finished 2 graphic novels yesterday and I‘m most of the way through #triptychbuddyread along with a couple others I‘m hoping to finish today.
#24b4Monday #teamslaughter

jb72 I really need to read number 6 today then that‘ll finish that series for me if Paper Girls. 5y
Andrew65 That‘s a great time. 👏👏👏 5y

Perfect timing! I finished the #TeamSlaughter #TriptychBuddyRead at 12:05am!🖤 Karin Slaughter is one hell of a writer. I‘ll wait for the discussion to elaborate more.

Lizpixie Have you read any of her other books? I loved her Grant County series but Will & Sara have grown on me, plus Angie is a nutcase. I forgot she started out a bit more pitiable until I read this one.🖤 5y
Clwojick @Lizpixie the first audiobook I ever listen to was 5y
Clwojick It was so good, but so flipping creepy. 🙈 5y

Back at it with this one! I‘m determined to finish it this weekend. Hopefully tonight! #TriptychBuddyRead #24B4Monday @TheReadingMermaid @jb72 @Andrew65 #TeamSlaughter

Current time: 9 hours 57 minutes! 💪🏻

Andrew65 Love this series. 5y
coffees I was wondering where slaughter came from xD 5y
Clwojick @Crimson613 HAHAHAH! Yeah, my husband just thought i was being super goth when I told him our team name. 😂 He knows how vampy I like to get in the fall. 🔥 5y
coffees @Clwojick that's what I was thinking when I first saw the tag but when I saw that people were saying bram stroker I was like OK someone's last name is slaughter and that's cool so I'm going with them 😂😂😂 5y
Clwojick @Crimson613 She writes some pretty dark murder mysteries. But if you can get past the gruesome details, the well thought out twists and relatable characters make them a fantastic read. 5y

Alongside my ginormous stack of library books, I also have these audiobooks to pick through during #24B4MONDAY ♥️ First and foremost, I need to finish off the #TriptychBuddyRead, then I‘ll finish Black &Blue, and then probably start Stingrays. We‘ll see though... cause I‘m terrible at sticking to a specific schedule. 🙈Only 1 more hour, and then #Readathon, here we come!

Lizpixie How much is the #buddyread book worth again? 5y
Andrew65 Some great choices, good luck. 😊👍 5y

I loved it, of course I did. Karin Slaughter writes tough-to-stomach crimes but she cares deeply for her victims and is so great at layering and depicting her female characters. I loved getting to know Will Trent and can‘t wait for more of him as this series progresses.

(I‘m glad to finally be reading this series after Grant County left me with a big hole in my heart.)

#TeamSlaughter #scarathlon @Clwojick #TriptychBuddyRead

Clwojick Yesss! I‘m so glad you enjoyed it! I haven‘t finished it yet- trying my best to stick to the schedule... but it seems to be 50/50 whether people like it or not. So far I‘m enjoying it, but I‘m only on week 2s reading schedule. 5y
intothehallofbooks @Clwojick I tried to read this one according to the schedule, but I‘ve never been able to read Karin Slaughter‘s books slowly. The further I read, the faster I needed to read. I can‘t wait to see what you think when you‘re done!! 5y
