I don‘t normally gravitate toward YA, but I‘m curious about the tagged. It sounds good! The other two have been highly anticipated for a while now. Adding them to my cart was an easy decision.

I finally caved and ordered my first #aardvark box in addition to #botm and I can‘t wait to receive all of these. #bookhaul

I‘m very excited for my #BOTM picks! The tagged memoir was not on my radar but it sounds very interesting. I‘ve wanted to get my hands on Hello Beautiful for quite awhile now, and they got me with the new Gillian McAllister as an add-on! I also wanted Happiness Falls since I loved Miracle Creek by the same author, but I‘m unsure when I would get around to it so I will pick it up later.

Starting off the year with an unsettling dystopian that is eerily prescient and set in a very near future. I‘m so glad that I finally got around to this, and I can‘t wait to read more of Octavia Butler‘s work.

Had to swing by Barnes and Noble to pick up 2 highly anticipated new releases (Babel and Fairy Tale) and decided to throw in a book from Sarah Addison Allen‘s backlist since I absolutely LOVED Other Birds.

My birthday #bookhaul 🎉

Watching Nick and Charlie‘s relationship develop put the biggest smile on my face! So sweet and adorable. I‘m looking forward to watching the Netflix adaptation.

Overall I enjoyed this debut! Even though I guessed a big twist early on, there were others I didn‘t, and I had a hard time putting it down. It helped me get out of the slump I‘ve been in since the beginning of the semester. I will say that the ending felt rushed compared to the pacing of the rest of the book, and there was a noticeable overuse of certain words which is something I often overlook.

I finally got my #bookspin list together! I‘m so excited to be able to participate again.

It took me a little longer to make my decision this month. I was only planning on choosing one, but… 🤷🏻‍♀️ At least my semester‘s almost over so I can go back to actually reading and not just collecting books. #BOTM

This was not what I was expecting, but I loved it! Not your typical mystery, this gives us a glimpse into the lives of many different characters residing in the Kamchatka peninsula. It reads like a short story collection, with the mystery of the missing girls looming in the background. This was very atmospheric with a strong sense of place, but likely won‘t be for everyone if you are wanting more of a traditional mystery.

I can‘t believe #wintergames2021 is already coming to an end! I still have to get my readathon and word search points together, but I managed to find 990 words for the game this week for 9,900 points.

Bonus: My main reading goal this year is to read more books from my shelves. I have way to many books on my physical tbr that I‘m really excited about, but it‘s so easy to be tempted by new releases.

My #bookspin and #bookspinbingo list for January! I always look forward to preparing my list for the month, even if I don‘t manage to read as much as I‘d like. This month, I‘m prioritizing the books from my physical tbr that I really wanted to read last year along with some of the books I‘ve received over the holidays.

Fantastic memoir! Michelle discusses the loss of her mother, the food that connects them, and the ways she grapples with her cultural identity as a Korean American. I had to set this down often as I could feel her grief through the pages. I lost my mom a few years ago, so it‘s still a tender topic, but this was so well done that I was compelled to continue. One of my favorites of the year.

I was having a hard time getting through many holiday romances this year, but this was a cute festive rom-com that helped pull me out of a bit of a reading slump. I hadn‘t realized this was the second book in a series when I picked it up, and I‘m sure it would‘ve been even better if I read the first book. Still, I had no problem jumping in and thought it held up well on its own.

I‘ve been too busy to keep up with reading or posting on Litsy much these past couple of weeks, but I‘m really looking forward to ringing in the new year with my Christmas #bookhaul (pictured). I had fun reading this one last year, so when I saw that it was our #teamread for #wintergames2021 I decided to try the audiobook. I think a large part of why I enjoy this so much is reading about their traditions at the cabin. It puts me in the mood for more holiday reading.

Quick, light Christmas read. The story was ok, but it isn‘t my favorite Macomber. I think I just didn‘t feel that invested in the couple. These holiday romances may be cheesy, but that‘s about all I can handle during this time of year anyway.

A little over the top and a ridiculous amount of twists at the end, but I had a lot of fun reading this over the weekend. This book was part of an #authenticbooks subscription box, so I had lots of fun items to help immerse myself in the reading.
