Server is down at work this morning due to yesterday‘s storms - so instead of working from home at 5:30am until the baby wakes up, I get to sit and enjoy some much needed quiet time with my book and coffee.

I do hope this book gets better - it‘s been a little meh for me so far. It‘s not “calling” me to be read and it‘s definitely taking me longer than usual to get through it.

Mariposa_Bookworm Is that a Belle mug?! She‘s my favorite Disney princess. I do hope the book gets better for you. I have it on my TBR pile. 4y
jessberk13 @Mariposa_Bookworm yes! I love her too. I‘ve started to skim the book and I‘ll read the last few chapters, but it‘s not holding my attention. 4y
Mariposa_Bookworm @jessberk13 Have you read Aristotle and Dante Discover the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz? It‘s very well written and a really good story. Maybe give that one a shot. 4y

Very intriguing to see the stories unfold in this memoir. I didn‘t know anything about Alan Cumming before starting; I just read the description about how he learned of his family history, which is something I am so interested in, so I got the audiobook. His Scottish accent was also fantastic!

This book was so entertaining!! I‘ve grown up listening to Elvis Duran, so learning about his backstory was so interesting, and definitely shocking at times! Highly recommend for anyone who listens to his morning show (and definitely go for the audio! So much fun to hear him swear!)

It has been over 8 months since I posted on Litsy!! I guess having a baby will do that 😂

I finished this nearly 50 hour audiobook this past Friday!! It was okay - I only stuck with it because I tried to read the physical book twice and each time didn‘t get more than 150 pages in, so I was determined to finish this time. I found my mind drifting a lot - the story was good but didn‘t hold my attention like the New York and Paris books did.

Megabooks Impressive!! Glad to have you back! 4y
JulAnna I read Sarum first and really liked that! I also liked New York. I struggled with Russka, though. 4y

Amiable Lol...your comment made me think about my reading goal before my first son was born (he's 25 now). I bought "A Suitable Boy" -- more than 1,400 pages--because I'd read that newborns sleep an average of 18 hours a day, so I'd have plenty of time to read, right? Spoiler alert: I finally read that book the year he turned 20. ? 5y

I loved listening to this book. She is so real, and I just felt like I could be friends with her. And talk about classy towards the end when talking about the transition of power during the last election. Even though she wasn‘t pleased with what happened, she still spoke about her feelings in a respectful and eloquent manner.

Picked this up from the library for the “choose your own adventure” prompt in the #popsugarreadingchallenge - and so far it‘s really great. Gotta love NPH!

This is my first CYOA book though, so I do have a question - and it might be a silly one - how do I know that I‘ve finished the book?????

bookandcat When you've read every page! What I did when I read this was mark the forks and when I got an end I backed up one step to get the other endings then backed up 2, etc. But with this one...definitely flip through when you think you're done and look at *every* page. Such a great book! And there aren't too too many forks. 5y

Wow. All I knew about Ted Bundy before I read this book was that he was a killer. Now that I‘ve finished, I know he was a serial murderer, a sociopath, and a liar, who battled great person demons. He let those demons control him and as a result dozens - possibly hundreds - of women died by his hands. A sick individual for sure, but this was an excellent audiobook. (Will also note, I‘m scared to be alone in my house now, hoping it will pass)
