3.5/5 ⭐
An intriguing mystery thriller that will make you question every character purpose. Trust no one. Only trust your memory.

Gonna read this next by Eileen Cook #eileencook #withmalice
Set in America/Italy during a high school trip, we meet best friends, Jill and Simone, and Jill's love interest, Nico. By unknown circumstances, Jill and Simone were in a car crash where Simone dies, and now Jill is being blamed for it, even though she doesn't remember a thing. About halfway through, I figured out the "who done it," but not the exact "how." The events are put together piece by piece right up until the end. Decent YA mystery read.
I love this quote because I find myself always apologizing for my feelings. This made me think that there's no reason to do that anymore. Feelings are feelings, and that's it. Feel them, and then move along, but never apologize.
"The truth is how you tell it"
I'm glad this was my #bookspin this month. I was really invested in learning What Really Happened and I liked the interviews & social media posts scattered throughout. I'm satisfied with the ending- even though the reader (and maybe Jill) will never know if it's the truth. I kept thinking of Amanda Knox (which must have been intentional) and also The Monster Of Florence while I read.

The book has less than the 280 pages displayed and you think you read a standard-plotted Highschool novel with not too cliché-made characters – but then …
Well, I didn‘t expect the ending because I didn‘t think Eileen Cook would dare this … But the ending is a well set punch line and therefore the book‘s a „Pick“ even though the last half page is a bit far-fetched.
*) With „Das Spiel der Nachtigall“ and this one done.
„Ich schluckte und war völlig groggy. Sogar meine Haut fühlte sich müde an.“ (Seite 4)
“I swallowed and felt completely groggy. Even my skin felt tired.” (p. 4)
⬆️⬆️⬆️ I never have had skin that feels tired but it sounds like something one should at least once have experienced.
Unbelievable.
Finally starting this.
Let‘s see how many pages I can squeeze in before snooker will continue in one and a half hours. 😄
Barry. 😍
Yes. Maybe I have a little – *cough* – crush.
But he also is a steady player when it comes to the World Championship
Today‘s schedule at the #SnookerWorldChampionship – so it‘s also mine and my significant other‘s. 😄 Crossing my fingers for Barry Hawkins.
So I‘m completely unsure when I will finally start this book that lingers untouched on my ebook-reader for about two weeks. 😇
It _sounds_ interesting.
But at the moment Snooker rules. 🤷🏽♀️😃
I checked this out of the library at 4pm and had finished it by 9:30 in between doing saxophone and piano practice, English homework and having tea.
It's a page turner and easy to read which is a good combination in my opinion (or bad depending if I have other things I should be doing!)

This book was a lot of fun to read! I feel like this would be a good summer read for on the beach or traveling to a new part of the world. If you like true crime or thrillers, this would be a good one for you. I kept wanting to read more and unravel the mystery :)
A trip to Italy goes horribly wrong after a fatal accident. #GetawaysGoneWrong #sizzlinsummerbooks
Being accused of murder would qualify for #GetawaysGoneWrong Both of these were good reads. I listened to With Malice and that meant I couldn't peek at the end! #SizzlinSummerReads @Tiffy_Reads
Did a bit of audiopuzzling today.
Currently reading this psychological thriller by Eileen Cook. I've only just started it but I picked it up because of it's beautiful cover and it's been a fun summer read so far 💚
I listened to the audiobook of this story, which is loosely based on the Amanda Knox case. (I was obsessed with that case!) It was an entertaining listening experience. The book kept me guessing even after I finished the story. The cover is also really pretty!
I'm in the middle of two other books but I needed to start another audiobook! This one has caught my interest in the first chapter.
Ehhh...it was ok. Kind of a YA take on the Casey Anthony style story. A lot of build up for a quick ending too. It was just...ok.
Jill is in the hospital with a head injury and without any memory of what happened on her trip to Italy. But she knows two things: Her best friend is dead. And people think she did it.
Jill tries to piece together her story at the same time the media and everyone else is constructing one of their own. I didn't love this but it did keep me completely riveted for a while. I was expecting a lot from the ending though, and was left unsatisfied.
This was my second time reading With Malice. I read the arc last summer and loved it. I waited until it was my turn to pick for #bookclub and we get to discuss that ending (finally!) tomorrow! #audiobooks #librofm
#ReReading my pick for #bookclub because I've been wanting to discuss it since I read the arc last year.
#YAYAY1
I haven't been reading much YA recently (which is weird because I teach middle school 😂). I think I read so many there for awhile that I got a bit burned out. I need to get back into it this summer. I read With Malice last year.
I LOVED THIS BOOK! It was very well written and entertaining. I had a hard time putting it down! Sure, some of the testimonies we could have done without, but they kept us thinking. Totally twist ending too! Love it.
This was clearly inspired by the whole Amanda Knox thing. Jill wakes up in the hospital with no memory of the past month. Her best friend died in a car accident they were both involved in during a school trip to Italy. Was Jill responsible? (Hey that's a pretty good summary!). Anyway, I really liked it.
Another book read as an iBook! This one is pretty much a quick read and I personally found it quite entertaining. Not too fond of the ending, but did like that it ended that way (does that even make sense?). At the end of the day, I do have to say I enjoyed it much more than expected!
I decided last night to read the book I won during the last #24in48! Thank you again to @hmhbooks for the book prize! Sadly I didn't love this book. It was quick and engaging but I did not enjoy the ending or the characters very much- they felt a bit overly campy to me. I wouldn't really recommend this book unless you wanted to rip through something quick and are a fan of YA.
My #TopTenTuesday list of books I've read this past year that I think are underrated and that you all need to be reading and loving. ;) What book have you read recently that you wish more people would read too?
My book haul from this weekend! Not pictured is my online purchases ;)
When it's after midnight and there's snoring on the other side of the bed and you're just gonna read one more chapter...

So good! A different storyline and you're not quite sure who to believe by the end. Great read. Highly recommend!
I spent most of this just waiting for the big reveal, reading quickly to discover the next secret that would be uncovered. I wish I had loved all the parts in between, too! But, alas.
I do a lot of reading on my ancient kindle. It's the best way to get germ-free library books! Just about to start my loan of With Malice. #ereader #seasonsreadings2016 @RealLifeReading
New-to-me authors and some fantastic books I've read this year! #TopTenTuesday #midnightbookgirl
Thank you to everyone who is making loving comments about Bandit's situation. ❤️❤️ My arm that I've had two surgeries on is hurting a lot from carrying him, so I won't be on much tonight. I've settled in with this light read. Thank you to @niki.inwonderland @MatildaBaggins and @Soubhiville for bringing this book to my attention! 😃😃👍🏻 Words can't express what this community means to me. 💗💗
With Malice is a very enjoyable, fast-paced teen mystery that reminded me a lot of the Amanda Knox trial. This book wasn't perfect, but I did really like it and would recommend it to anyone looking for something entertaining and speedy.
#novemberbookchallenge #25: Currently Reading
Another sick day with my littest one. Which means a lot of reading for me! 😆 I just started With Malice and I'm totally hooked. The writing isn't the greatest but I definitely want to find out what's going on!
