“The secret of happiness is to enjoy the pleasure of being in the moment.”
The book presents an alternate reality where chocolate and candy play a central role in society, allowing for exploration of themes like happiness, success, and the impact of indulgence in a way that challenges readers' perceptions of their own world.

In this book, Charlie Bucket lives in poverty with his parents and four grandparents in a small house near Willy Wonka's mysterious chocolate factory. Charlie wins a ticket to go on a tour of the factory with his grandfather and other children where he finds a fantasy world filled with candy and magical inventions. Charlie remains humble regardless of the exciting opportunities he has been offered.
My niece is currently obsessed with Willy Wonka.
Thought I'd encourage this behaviour by getting her the book today.
Forever encouraging her inner bookworm to grow.
Also a great first introduction to Roald Dahl.
I guess everyone know the plot of this one. And how is it possible not to love a book about chocolate?
I wanted to read this before the Willy Wonka movie that is just around the corner.

🍫Roald Dahl‘s tagged book will always be my first to-go chocolate book. Read it with my daughter when she was a wee bit old and watched the movie together too, to spot pdifferences.

My oak tree produces a metric s**t-ton of acorns so this year I looked up some recipes for them. 👀 but y‘all I didn‘t realize they‘d have so many worms. I feel like the squirrels in the chocolate factory (“a bad nut!” 🐿️) and about to throw them all in a nice forest somewhere! Anyone else ever tried eating acorns? Is it worth it? 😅
I am a bit under-stimulated at my job, but one of my creative outlets is finding a national holiday to add to the white board that we write the date on. I am quite proud of today's doodle 😀

If anyone needs me, I'll be Augustus Glooping my way through the weekend! 🐷

Can‘t celebrate any kind of chocolate day without good old Charlie Bucket! 🍫
“Good morning sunshine! The Earth says hello!“
I think that this a great story for the students to think and create their own factory and allow them to express their imagination in a variety of ways.
By Roald Dahl, this story talks about a boy who finds a golden ticket which allows him to visit a local chocolate factory full of magic and wonders. This story takes the students on an adventure and becomes close to Willy Wonka.
This would be great to recommend to higher readers in third grade as an independent reading book. I think it would also be great to use as a class read aloud to interpret text and learn new reading and writing skills.
Charlie and the Chocolate factory is a fan favorite. Charlie searches for the right Wonka bar to get into the Chocolate factory. When he wins, he and his grandfather go on a wild adventure.
My absolute favorite book about #candy!

Day 5 of #OminousOctober & today's word is Candy.
This is one of my favourite childhood books &, although I know it's not to everyone's taste, I absolutely love the more recent film version with Johnny Depp. I think it was true to Dahl's book with a dark undertone.

Libro geniale per tutte le età, dominato dal personaggio di Willy Wonka e dal suo sottile sadismo stravagante. Recensione completa: https://www.instagram.com/p/Ciar25Uscy9/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

I didn't want to be predictable with the chocolate post, but this works well as a double post 😁

My kids got to see their first play today…Charlie & The Chocolate Factory at the State Theatre (in New Brunswick, NJ). It was lovely to experience the play with them; we love the book and both movies…my husband and I are partial to the Gene Wilder adaptation. 🍫🍫🍫
This book was really cute! I hope any of The Office fans out there understand the Michael Scott bookmark 😆#aprilreads

Another favorite by Roald Dahl. I'll be honest, I'm not a big fan of the remake. I'm partial to the Gene Wilder movie. I'd give anything to visit this candy factory and tour the #Bakery
Nothing says #Chocolate like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 🍫😬 #ItHadToBeYou 💖

Seen both movies but never read the book. It was a quick and fun read. Sorta followed the movies and sorta not. Glad to have read it.
My class‘s last book club book of the year and while it isn‘t my favorite the kids absolutely loved it!!
Gift from a friend!
It was only supposed to be the bags for easter egg hunt...but when they arrived each bag contained an awesome book and treat and everything matches! 😱😎🤗😍
I loved Roald Dahl as a kid but somehow never read the big ones. This was better than I expected, having only seen the older movie version. I like how Wonka deals with the wretched horrible children. Now I can see the parallels in the Lemoncello books better, too. Another finish for #FabulousFebruary
I'm such a fan of this book. I love everything about it.The four grandparents living on the bed (very 2020 by the way), Charlie is so sweet, the Oompa-Loompas and their songs, Mr Wonka is SO funny and I love his logic (or should I say his illogic) behind every invention and his explanations of how things work. It's simply fantastic ♥️
Finished my first book of my spring semester! I never knew before Monday that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a book and I didn‘t know half of Dahl‘s books were written by him. What a phenomenal read. I loved it. Absolutely amazing. Felt innocence bleed through the pages. And it wasn‘t so creepy like the movie...
This a low pick because I definitely liked the first movie better. This was fun on audio. There was music but the singing was a little off (maybe because I was listening at 1.75 most of the time 😂)
First book of 2021 finished
