Originally we were going to read Tower of Dawn first b/c a few sources online mentioned it would be a more emotional way to go into the final book of the series. I‘ve changed my mind and decided we will read in publication order -which means Empire of Storms first. We will start in December, reading 9 chapters a week, first check in December 8. Please let me know if you‘d like to continue on this #ToG journey with us.

This one really packs a wallop! The quest for an army takes Aelin and her court on a long voyage, and man, is it action packed. Some fantastic character development, huge revelations, and a TON of surprises. The romance(s) range from sweet and nascent to simply blistering, and the plot threads coming together from previous books make an excellent, tight story. I did the tandem read with Tower of Dawn and it was definitely worth reading that way.

I am enjoying this book so much!!! I am enjoying the series a lot. I am loving the characters and the story plot of this series. I rated the book a 4 out of 5 stars.

I was not a fan of Aelin‘s character arc in this one (no spoilers) I just felt the book could go for shock factor without her STILL not sharing information. I liked Lorcan‘s and Lysandra‘s arcs! Overall one of the better books in the series. —- Book 19 of my 25 in 2025 I need a break from this series to digest. So I think I‘ll do a few mysteries next.

Tandem reading! Also still using a bookmark that was given to me in a litsy swap!

Just started this month‘s reread with my book club, but this time I‘m tackling the tandem read. I REALLY liked reading EOS then TOD the first time, it will be interesting reading them together.

I forgot how badly I want to shove a rusty nail into Darrows eyeball. 😂

Maaaaan, the first 60-70% of this book was slow, and I was really only interested in Manon and Elide‘s story lines. It took a thousand years for me to get fully invested. Oof. But then, of course, the last bit was riveting and I couldn‘t put it down. Technically, I would rate this between a so-so and a pick.

My #JanuaryTBR started this morning as I started the tagged book. Hoping to get to 3 #AuldLangSpine picks but am likely to take some of @willaful ‘s list into 2025 as is my habit.

Twenty four hours later, and I‘m still processing the ending of this book. The book is an adrenaline rush from beginning to end, but I really didn‘t see the conclusion coming. Even more characters added to this installment of the series, things I thought were a given turned in their heads. This is so different from what I normally read, but I love it.

More outdoor reading with my favourite little dude. I wouldn‘t normally start something this long during the Readathon, but I‘m in a fantasy mood and I can put at least a small dent in it before I fall asleep. #deweysapril2024

Although I wanted to jump into this right after finishing the previous installment, I read two other books first. I can‘t be accused of binge-reading 😄

My heart is currently shattered by this ending. I am so glad I am doing the tandem read or I would not endure reading book 6 after this. I guess these things are what make a good book too, but it HURTS!!! The book was magnificent, a lot gets unfolded here. Poor Aelin is such a warrior. I would bow to her ruling any day. Long live queen Aelin! Her court starts taking shape & a lot of unpredictable things occur. These books just get better.

I'm so close to finishing this tandem read. That's my goal for today.

Wowza. Tandem Read. Been a long time since I‘ve spoken aloud a wow while reading, or even having to pause while in the middle of a chapter. This was more all over the place as the ships moved. Hard to keep with locations, though the influx of characters was well done. Now I like Manon.
How does Maas do it?? End hundred pages was a new revelation. Tandem was intimidating, but the paper print made it easier. #sjm

Just finished Queen of Shadows. Three books to go in this series. I decided to do the tandem read for the next two books.

What just happened?!?! Oh man, for someone who didn‘t like the first book in this series, I‘ve becoming ridiculously attached to this bands of misfits. I love the friendships. I couldn‘t believe the sea dragon scene or the finale. So many twists, so much fascinating history in their world, I loved the stories coming together that have been building since the beginning. Beautifully plotted and I can‘t wait to see what happens next.

Is it just me or is this series just not all that exciting… the ending made me FINALLY want to actually see where the books are going but I still catch myself zoning out while listening. Also the side characters stories are way more interesting than Aelin‘s IMO. Is there something wrong with me??

Hello spicy. This book sizzles. For this series it's really a first. It also combines many of the former books (this is Throne series #6, including the prequel) characters into an awesome, action-packed fantasy. I really liked seeing the old characters brought back. Some phrases are overused; I do an occasional eyeball roll, but I just love the story. Perhaps I'll read a book from another author to cleanse my palette before the next adventure.

I think I have officially lost interest in this series. I was skipping & skimming often - waiting for the exciting stuff to happen. The Rowan love scene was dangled in our faces for way too long to the point it wasn't realistic. And as you could guess, the love scene was quite pornographic for my taste.There are good moments in the story but they are too spaced out for me to enjoy them. Unfortunately I won't be returning to this series.
