Listening to the tagged audio for #trappedonanisland while I work on some #retro paintings for #LitsyCrafters. I found some fun inspiration on Pinterest, so I‘m just going to paint and colour for the next few hours. 🙂
The book was chosen by @Read4life and although I‘m only 25% in, I‘m really enjoying it so far! After a handful of contemporary fictions, I‘m ready to get back to thrillers 🖤
Wow! This was my first Lisa Gardner and it packed a punch! With her excellent writing and compelling story, this was a great vacation read. (Also, loving this cottage escape!)
Another phenomenal book from Lisa Gardner! A chilling case, and just as twisty and suspenseful as the rest.
Though in my haste to queue up plenty of her books from the library, I accidentally skipped one and read this out of order - oops! By the time I realized I was already 25% through, so I just got on with it. Turned out fine, just a few minor (in the grand scheme of things) spoilers on DD's personal life 😬
Just brilliant! Book 8 in the DD Warren series was another good one. I don't know what I should be more concerned about. The fact Lisa Gardner has a very twisted mind or the fact I enjoy the books 🤣

Aww man, what a great book by Lisa Gardner, and D.D Warren.
Flora was kidnapped for four hundred and seventy two days. Is safe for 5yrs except for the awful memories of being kept in a coffin. Then a girl goes missing, and Flora gets kidnapped again, but this time she finds the missing girl Stacy Summers. Can they get out alive, and who kidnapped Flora this time?
This was a great read! I was intrigued from the beginning. The nature of the victim after being held captive is never explored, so this was refreshing. I‘ve read some reviews that said it was improbable, but in many cases I think people tend to be self destructive especially when suffering from PTSD. If you like a good criminal minds story, you‘ll love this one!
If I had been less than impressed by the seventh book in the D. D. Warren series, then this eighth book more than made up for that! I thoroughly enjoyed every page! It‘s exciting, the characters are well-developed and the plot has some genuine surprises too! I can‘t believe that I only have two books left in my #BookBinge!
1. Performing music of some sort on a live stage!
2. I worked at the Front Desk of my city‘s Children‘s Museum - ended up working there for a decade in other positions too!
3. I haven‘t bailed on anything recently - last one was “Other People‘s Houses” last summer.
4. Anything by Lisa Gardner - I finished the tagged one not too long ago.
5. @rretzler @Reviewsbylola tagging my two newest follows! 💕

Lisa Gardner does it again! I have never been disappointed with her books thus far.
Flora Dane is a victim: Gardner paints a gruesome picture of Flora‘s past. But she is also a survivor. This story is about her journey to live, not only survive.
Vinny sat with (on!) me until I finished. It looks as if he approves too 😊
I‘ve learned something about myself as a reader. I prefer the “marathon” approach rather than the “sprint” to the end. Sure, I can be a fast reader but why rush it?
I have lots of things going on lately but take time to read a few chapters each day. Some days more than others. And this is okay!
I still consider myself a bookworm by my own definition.
Tonight I bailed on going to a Stag and Doe because I just felt the need to be alone. Decided to start reading this one!
I must say it is refreshing to say no to things sometimes.
This book comes to mind as a unique read because I have never felt such intense feelings of terror while reading anything else! I remember I started this one during a really difficult period in my life and it sucked me in from the first page and gave me the escape that I needed! Interestingly enough, I haven‘t read anything else by this author although I know she has written many books. Any recommendations?

Couldn‘t put it down - the book was so suspenseful and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Definitely recommend!!
The book follows Flora as she reevaluates what her new normal is and how she finds her place after a horrific kidnapping.
I could say a lot about this book, but honestly, I won‘t. Just, if you‘ve been thinking about reading it, do it. You won‘t regret it, promise.
One days worth of reading lands me on page 126. Enjoying it so far 🙇🏻♀️
Starting this today. A little weary, as books with sexual violence aren‘t usually my cup of tea. But since I had it close by as soon as I finished my last book, I decided to pick it up and give it a chance.
Sneaking in some me-time after work. One margarita down...🍹🍹#dinnerandabook
Day 24: Power
In my 32 years on earth, this is without a doubt the most difficult year I‘ve survived. Never underestimate the power of a supportive spouse, loving family, amazing friends, a cute (yet annoying) pet and of course a great book to see you through the darkness. The tagged book is the one I picked up when I needed an escape the most- and it did not disappoint! Intense and all consuming- not for the faint of heart!

A fast-moving and wickedly good novel. Lisa Gardner is now on my go-to author list — am totally loving the D.D. Warren series.
I highly recommend this female detective series to anyone that enjoys mystery thrillers. 🔥🕵🏻♀️
1. I just received this lovely spring bouquet from my sweet husband today 💗
2. Getting ready to start the tagged book

I'm using these two for my #lostandfound and #eyeseeyou prompts. Find Her must mean she's lost, right??? ??? And I don't actually have books with covers that focus on the eyes for some reason. But I feel like Right Behind You could have an "I have my eye on you and know where you , what you're doing" type vibe. These will be my first Lisa Gardner books #MagicalMarch @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
I‘ve been working on this book for a week now. It never takes me this long to read a book but I‘m having a really hard time getting into this one and am considering abandoning it. I really hate to do that to a book but there are so many good ones out there to read I don‘t want to give it much more time. Did anyone else have this much trouble with it?
I found out today, as I was almost done with this book that this is #8 of the Detective D.D. Warren series. I had no idea, nor have I read books 1-7, but that made no difference to my enjoyment. I will definitely be going back to read the beginning of the series now, because I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
This is Ella. Ella is not a lap dog, but apparently nobody has ever told her that... 😉
Weekend plans... coffee, books, staying inside out of the snow that continues to insist upon falling.
My January challenge prompt is complete! #lisagardner #thriller #readingchallenge
This was so so scary!! Until about the last quarter of the book when I was pretty sure I‘d figured it out. But very compelling and still a page turner. Cant say I really liked DD all that much but I‘m definitely open to reading more of the series. This was my first, and even though it‘s not even close to being the first book it totally worked as a stand-alone.
This is #8 in the D.D. Warren series. It is the first one I've read. And dog-gone-it, now I want to read them all. Lisa Gardner does a fabulous job making the book stand strong as a stand-alone. Clearly there are references to past storylines, but you don't feel like you're missing out. Great characters, great fast-paced story.
Started this yesterday and loving it already, let's see how I get on with it 📚✨
This book was excellent. But it was truly scary. Very quickly I realized that I could not read this one at night.
This book was so good & messed up right up until the last chapter where everything got sappy and neatly tied up. Kind of like a dress that‘s totally perfect until you notice the bow on the ass. Still a solid thriller though. Krysten Ritter would be perfect as Flora. #thriller #recommendsday
I couldn't put this one down. Although maybe a little predictable, the writing was completely gripping and fast paced.
Fast paced and gripping. Perfect for my reading slump. I found the ending a bit rushed and tidy, but overall this was really good. I haven't read other books in this series, but it stood alone just fine. 4/5
