This is a great series, but the second installment is just not as good as the first. All the characters are scattered in the aftermath of the previous adventure, taking out one of the best elements to this book, the interactions amongst this misfit family. This is still much better than most comics, but be advised, you might be slightly disappointed after the rush of astonishing uniqueness of the first volume.
The plot threads from volume one are definitely coming into play in this volume and seem to make more sense so whatever disjointed moments I may have had were becoming more cohesive as I kept reading into this volume so I'm hoping that volume three is just enough to wrap up the threads and really make this solid.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I‘ll be the first to say that the tv show is WAY better, but I still love the original comics! I can see what they took from the show and made so much better, and I love that!
Just as good as volume 1. I think I prefer the Netflix show more though🙈
I'm really enjoying this series!
I'm a sucker for conspiracy theories - not necessarily believing them all; but I love to read and explore other's opinions and see how they made it work.
And the JFK assassination is one of my favourite theories to dig into. SO this edition really piqued some interest!
@TheAromaofBooks this is my #DoubleSpin for September! I'm on a roll! 😁
I bought the first 2 volumes long time ago, too many years before the first season was announced and I've loved them!
I didn't see the second season yet, that's why I'm rereading these today ❤
I can't wait any longer to continue with the show ❤

Just finished season 2!
The next season of Umbrella Academy comes out soon so I caught up with the family in Hoopla. This one centers around the JFK assassination for a very important reason!
My review of this book can be found on my Youtube Vlog at:

Enjoy!
This is the first graphic novel that I ever read on my Kindle. I still prefer the print version.
I'm slightly obsessed with the Netflix series, so I thought I'd give this a try. I loved this. Now I want more of them. 💖🌂
🤗🤗🤗💕
Umbrella Academy fans, Gerard Way is releasing a new comic mini-series, titled "You Look Like Death" that will feature an 18-year-old Klaus. ?
There will be 6 issues, to be released before Netflix releases season 2.

I was frustrated that I hadn't been able to watch more of the series so I checked this out of the library yesterday. Then today I unexpectedly had the house to myself and knocked a few episodes out. I'm still planning on reading this as well. Especially since the books are almost always better.
Enjoyed these graphic novels. They are definitely weird and “out there”. But also makes the idea of superheroes more human and down to earth as they deal with family, marriage, divorce, loneliness and society.
The Readathon may be over, but my biiiiiiiig library stack demands attention.
I‘m about halfway through this one, and while I still like the show better I appreciate the comic‘s commitment to utter bloody weirdness. Weird stuff is my jam, y‘all.
I continue to find this graphic series just so-so. Probably because I watched the television series first. I love the show- it‘s way less confusing than the books and the characters are much more interesting and likable. Also, I don‘t like the illustrations. I think I‘ll skip book 3 when it‘s released and stick to the show.
I can‘t recommend this series enough! The character development is so good. The art work and overall “classic” style of it is incredible. Way is a phenomenal storyteller. He always was in MCR and that‘s no different now. Excited for volume 3 to get here and then start the show! #graphicnovel #comic
Binging this show is getting in the way of my reading! 📺📚 Has anyone read the comics? Are they as good as the show?
This was weird. Like, I have no idea what to think of this after reading it. I‘m definitely going to try and watch the show on Netflix and see if I like the story when it‘s told in a different media form.
....& this is the loan that‘s up next! I‘m super excited about this one! Can‘t wait😁
Something different..
Hazel and Cha-Cha, with those masks, are always #hilarious (and pretty scary as assassins!)

Continuing the gonzo antics while providing more depth to the characters, the second volume of Way's superhero riff is even bloodier and even more entertaining than the first.
I‘m so stoked for this! 😆🦸🏻♀️🦸🏼♂️🦹🏻♀️🦹🏽♂️☂️

For no particular reason, I can‘t sleep tonight. Making the situation worse by reading Umbrella Academy fanfiction, which is absolutely brilliant.
Thanks to #PanelAThon and #24b4Monday I have finally finished the first two volumes of The Umbrella Academy so I can watch the Netflix show. I'm interested to see what they do with it since I can't picture it being a series.
This bit of the story is so Gerard. It just totally seems like something he‘d say. I love Gerard 🖤🖤🖤
I‘m so ready for this after the day I‘ve had.
I was very excited to receive this yesterday as I‘ve been waiting for it to arrive for several weeks. I feel a bit like I don‘t want to read it too quickly though!
These comics have me hooked from beginning to end and dying to read more. I love them so much.
#MarchIntoThe70s #Day9 #Barracuda I‘m gonna have to go with The Umbrella Academy for this prompt. I was binging the series on Netflix(which is fantastic by the way)and thinking of which book to use, when the song Barracuda started playing in that episode. Who am I to ignore hints from the universe! This GN series is written by Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance, about 7 children born in strange circumstances & adopted by an eccentric millionaire.
These feel scattered just like the show, but I enjoyed them. I just wish volume 3 was out.

The hubs and I just finished binge watching this on Netflix and now I have to read the comics! 😆
Better than Stephen King‘s look at saving or not saving JFK. The Umbrella Academy is never boring! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I enjoyed the idea here, and loved the assassins, but I kept feeling like a lot of crucial backstory was missing.
