This book was fantastic. I love books with a complicated, flawed protagonist who doesn‘t always make the best choices, but at the same time, you can completely understand why they made those choices.
I really liked this one. This is an older #BOTM pick. Sisters Mary & Hannah find themselves alone in the world after their mother dies in a car accident. With no one to depend on but each other, the sisters set out across the country in search of a new beginning. As the girls journey through life together secrets threaten to tear them apart. Mary is determined to protect Hannah from the evils of the world no matter the cost to herself. ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫
I “had” to stop at the thrift store today for a project and found these to add to my giveaway shelf!! 📚📚📚
A beautifully written story about about 2 girls left with nothing when their mother dies in a tragic car wreck. Hannah, only 4 years old depends on Mary, 18, to care for her. Mary will stop at nothing to take care of her and the secrets she promised to keep.
Loved this one!!

I had to ponder this one to fully form my opinion. Easy to read and just enough tension to make me want to keep reading, but something just didn't sit right with me. I really disliked Mary and just felt terrible for Hannah. Now that it's been a couple days, I think this book is utterly forgettable.
My cats wearing clothes are much more interesting. 💕 #catsoflitsy #littenkitten #adventuresofthegmen #catsinclothes
Soubhi, thank you so much for the birthday surprise! It sounds like a great read. Thank you thank you!
@Soubhiville
I felt almost as bonded to Mary & Hannah (aka Mare & Bunny) as they were to one another. I worried about their safety as they road-tripped across America after their mother‘s sudden death, with Mary constantly pushing the limits to ensure that her kid sister was provided for. Mary‘s protective & maternal instinct, paired with her absolute refusal to deny her baser, animal nature, made for a fascinating & dimensional character study.
*cont‘d👇🏻
“Mary extended her arm out to her sister who knew nothing so well as the curve of Mary‘s side. And after a reluctant moment, Hannah folded into it, resting her head on Mary‘s shoulder.”
The intimacy between these two (& knowing that something happens to separate them) is killing me. 😭
Lunch break!
Speaking of time, I wish I had more of it so I could keep reading this book! I‘m so nervous for Mare & Bunny. 😦
Diving into this book and this açaí bowl this morning ?
As far as #BOTM picks, this one was pretty mediocre. Not bad, also not a favorite. It instantly sprang to mind though when I saw today‘s #maymoviemagic prompt, #behindthewheel.
Mary and Hannah are two sisters set adrift, driving across the country to try to find a place to put down roots after their mother does in a car crash.
The Sisters Chase is a beautiful story with a surprisingly fitting emotional ending. It‘s dark & filled with lies and secrets, but also hope with unconditional love and unbreakable family bonds. I highly recommend this compelling book.

Mary will stop at nothing to protect Hannah after Diane dies in a car accident... The girls begin a cross country journey in search of a better life. Mary may be forced to reveal secrets she swore she would keep.
This is one of my favorite #BOTM books!! I wish I had time to read it again!! ❤️❤️❤️

Enjoyed all of them, but the red ones are two of my favorites!!! Notice the recurring theme!!!

I finally added this one to my BOTM box because they categorized it as a thriller. It's really picking up around 70 pages in, but I've had my guess about the ending since about chapter 2. I'm pretty much to the point where I can't put it down so I guess we'll see... 📖
Update: I was right. But I'm still glad I read this one!
This book broke my heart in the best possible way. That is all I can think to say. I know it will stay with me for a long, long time.
Does anyone know if Sarah Healy's other books are as wonderful as this one?
The first third of this book I liked. But the last 2/3rds I loved! I didn‘t want to put it down and was so invested in the story. I did know where the story was headed once I figured out the timeline, but it didn‘t take away from the story. (I‘m slowly catching up on my #botm picks!)
Help! Is my math off? I thought Marry was 18, wouldn‘t that mean Mary was not 13 when she met Stefan. Do I have the ages off or is that right? 😬

I‘m a day late, but this is the first one I thought of!! I love this one!! Mary and Hannah have stayed with me long after I finished this book!! A mother‘s death and the cross country journey the two girls take in search of a better life... 💔💔
Wow, this book had me from page 1. I've been stealing every available moment to spend with the Chase girls. I read it waiting in line at the post office and even while the bank teller was processing my deposits! ❤
This challenge made me think of this book... When Diane dies Mary‘s survival instincts kick in. As the sisters cross the country in search of a better life, all she wants to do is take care of Hannah, herself and protect their secrets. I loved this book!!! Gripping, heart wrenching and beautifully written!! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was sad but so good 💕
Thanks so much @erinreads for doing this giveaway! Congrats on reaching 50k! #50kgiveaway These 2 books have caught my eye. 😊
Congrats on #50kgiveaway, @erinreads! I would choose either My Favorite Thing is Monsters, or The Sisters Chase. Both are #blameitonlitsy additions to my TBR.
I‘d love to read “The Sisters Chase.” I‘d heard nothing about it until @erinreads‘ #50kgiveaway post & now I think I might be drooling a bit! It‘s got so many details that appeal to me: relationships between women, sisterhood, motherhood, & an ocean-side location! (I think there‘s seawater instead of blood coursing through my veins). My bunny, Moxie, wants me to mention that the best detail is that one of the characters is nicknamed “Bunny.”😉🐰
Lies and deception. If she only had come clean it wouldn‘t have ended so badly.
I liked this one well enough. It‘s one of those books that is not heavy on plot, but heavy on untrustworthy and dislikable characters. Mainly the main character, Mary. She irritated the shit out of me. That tends to happen in books where the main character is SO GORGEOUS ALL MEN DIE. I enjoyed it, though, because it was light and easy.
I loved this one. It‘s my book club‘s book for this month and I wasn‘t excited to read it, but I was so wrong! It was so good and I may have cried a few times. #bookclub
Great read. I saw part of it coming, but enjoyed it all the same and was never sure how it would end. Very satisfying!
I‘m trying to catch up on my BOTM picks and I just finished my June selection. This book was very good. It was a little slow going at first but it definitely picked up. This was a great book about the love of two sisters. There were some serious plot twists that I didn‘t see coming and there were points where I shed a few tears. Great read!
This was an easy read, wanted to see which road the sisters took and what was in store for them. I was disappointed with the last few chapters. The abruptness wasn‘t expected, and left me somewhat empty.
It‘s a blanket and book kind of afternoon! I like the start of this one so far
4/5⭐️. I enjoyed this book. Hannah and Mary are fated together by love, birth, and death. Making for a heartfelt read. Quick and gripping would recommend. 😁
Why did I wait so long to read this? Meatloaf in the oven, wonderful drink in one hand, and book in the other. My day can not get any better 🤓🤡😏
Starting this beauty today. Oh and my package is also being mailed out 😀 #fallbookexchange #halloweengoespostal
Two sisters struggle to survive after their mother‘s death. Heartbreaking and sad yet the bond the two sisters share is incredible. A bit predictable but still worth reading.
I was actually thinking that I wouldn't get much reading done this weekend because of the dogs but once I gave up caring that the house is a disaster zone...
The Chase sisters, Mary and Hannah, and their mother Diane ran a tiny seaside motel for generations, inviting trouble into their lives. When Diane dies in a car accident, Mary discovers the motel is worthless. With few options, the sisters begin a cross-country journey in search of a better life. Vivid and suspenseful, this book is a whirlwind page-turner about the extreme lengths siblings will go to for one another.
