I hate-read this book. To be fair, it's probably not my kind of book to begin with. It is a straight, white, Saccharin Christmas mystery and the characters are over-the-top unrelatable and even go so far as to laugh at a stupid gay joke.

This was the perfect cozy mystery for the end of the year and my pick for December for #12booksof2024

Holly White, moving back to her parents‘ Christmas tree farm, can‘t keep her nose out of a murder mystery making her a target for the murderer. The best part of this cozy mystery is that the sheriff isn‘t a bumbling idiot who Holly must lead through the investigation (although Holly sort of is). And I liked the soft romantic undertones. Who has a strong enough motive to kill the elderly victim? That was troubling until it all came together. ⬇️

1st book in the Christmas Tree Farm Mystery Series (#SeriesLove2024) and it was great. I enjoyed the town of Mistletoe, Maine and all its inhabitants. Holly return home to Mistletoe after her fiancé calls off the wedding, and comes back to herself and those she loves. The mystery was good, but I‘ll come back to the series for the town and the characters.

Loving this cozy series. Mistletoe, Maine is a wonderfully festive setting and the characters are really likable.

One of my #SeasonalCozies picks for December, I finished the audiobook while running errands today. This was a good little cozy mystery with likeable characters & a fun snowy holiday setting of the MC‘s (Holly) parent‘s Christmas Tree Farm in a very Christmasy town called Mistletoe in Maine. I didn‘t love the female narrator‘s male voices but I enjoyed the story & Holly. I‘ll read the next one. (Free on Audible too).

This was a great cosy mystery and the audio version was amazing!

Holly moves back to her hometown of mistletoe after her engagement is broken off. She throws herself into helping on her parent‘s christmas tree farm and the 12 days of games for Christmas season. But when one of the locals is murdered on the farm, Holly finds herself as the next potential target.

Except Holly‘s cat is a calico and the cat on the cover is a tabby.

A cosy mystery set at CHRISTMAS in a town called MISTLETOE about a girl who moves back home to her FAMILY and helps them put on their annual Christmas GAMES. Oh yes and there‘s a murder. I‘m hit or miss on cosies and I loved this one. Full of warmth, mystery, snow and a little romance.

Festive cozy. I plan to listen to the second book in the series next year.

This was a very enjoyable read. A woman heads home days before she was meant to be married. At the same time a murder is committed on the eve of The Annual Reindeer Games. She decides to investigate and help the local sheriff. Loved the characters and feel of this book. A good Christmas read.

I am not typically one for holiday-themed books (except Halloween), but I am so glad I listened to this one! You know a book is good when you find excuses to listen to a book! Cozy mystery with a snarky female lead, a handsome sheriff, and a murder leading up to Christmas. I laughed out loud several times and am now contemplating how quickly I can begin book 2. The voice narration was perfect. #2017 #192025

Finished this last night but was too lazy to post. 🤣 A perfectly cozy holiday mystery! I‘d definitely read more in the series.

This was a perfectly cozy mystery. The only thing that felt a little like a cheat was the title as there was only one murder. The MC Holly had appropriate emotions throughout the book for her character.This book also almost completely filled my #WinterReadathon Word Bingo board. I'm just missing nativity, stocking, and mince pie.

I don‘t typically do cozy mysteries but this was delightful.

Holly White‘s engagement falls through but she has a warm homecoming returning to Mistletoe, ME. Until one of the locals turn up murdered at her parents‘ Christmastree Farm.

She alternates searching for clues, serving hot chocolate and playing “reindeer games”, but finds more than she asked Santa for.

🎧 narration was great but the Boston accent was more of a New Jersey thing 🤣

This story had me bought in from the beginning! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🎧 I feel bad. I have to give this a so-so. I thought it was going to be a Christmas murder mystery. It seems to be more of a bad romance. I was not impressed but I was expecting a different book. If you‘re looking for a romance where the man saves the damsel in distress with sidecar of light mystery … this could be the book for you?

This was a perfectly fine Christmas cozy mystery. I kept forgetting the main character‘s name, but she was fine too. One nitpicky thing bothered me — she kept referring to her stomach as her “tummy,” and it seemed to happen a lot. I don‘t think I‘ve heard any grown adult call their stomach a “tummy” in a long time. I don‘t know why that bothered me so much, but it did. #audiowalk

For todays #festivephotochallenge and #reindeer my first thought was the delightful and bizarre setting of this cosy mystery - a Christmas tree farm that hosts an annual Reindeer Games attended by the whole population of the town and half the planet!

Loved this book and can't wait to read the rest of the Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series. I randomly came across this browsing on Libby and it easily became my favorite cozy mystery read of the year. The town of Mistletoe sounds so lovely and I loved the idea of all the Christmas games there. If you are looking for a sweet festive read with a side of murder mystery I recommend it!
