Here‘s a conversion chart: https://earlham.edu/media/3049229/activityconversionchart.pdf For example, 1 minute of yoga = 86 steps. 20 minutes * 86 = 1760. If a miles is approx. 2000 steps, then 20-30 minutes of yoga is approx. 1 mile. Vacuuming is 104 steps per minute. Maybe I should vacuum 40 miles! 😂 4y

28 days later.... not a dystopian post even though it‘s an odd parallel. Thanks @wanderinglynn I love the BFC - this month I worked on my meditation goal - I found out about an APP called Balance- currently free for a year and I love it! I‘ve read five books. Still have to post about them.

#BFC28 has been so much fun! I feel like I have a lot of triumphs and am super proud of myself!

Goals:
1. 8 books: 15/8 - Crushed this goal!!!
2. Meditate/Mindfulness: 20/28 - Using the 10% Happier App and truly enjoying it
3. Reach out to people: 22/28
4. Yoga - I just stared a yoga regime and I am on Day 5
5. Organize/clean space for 15 min/day - 15/28 - I feel like I don't have enough to do this everyday (since I am not at home home)

Thank you @wanderinglynn for hosting #BFC28. This was my first time participating with low goals. Completed 7/6 books, did not journal as much as I wanted. I stared meditating for 10 minutes with the free Balance app for the last week. I plan to work on my journaling and meditation in the near future. And obviously, read 😅

I originally said I‘d read ten books. What was I thinking?!? I read five, and I‘m fine with that.
Also:
-ordered a new vacuum cleaner
-accomplished a “check the box” task at work after being in a do loop since October
-got refunds from #readingretreat and donated to local food bank
-finally figured out meaning of #bfc28 on the last day
OTOH I was supposed to get a haircut appointment today, but instead I‘m just getting shaggier and shaggier.

CocoReads I pretty much gave it up, except for reading. After the first week or so, I did manage to focus and finished a few books—I can‘t remember how many probably more than 4 but less than 10. Since I‘m an essential worker—I‘m calling that a success. 4y
Cupcake12 I‘ve actually got my reading mojo back, I finished a book in 3 sittings which is an achievement for me with 2 girls and home-schooling. I‘ve been enjoying fruity teas and mindful colouring. Eaten far too many Easter eggs though! 4y
rockpools Thanks for doing this Lynn - it‘s been helpful to have the push this month and I love that my fitbit pals are back (thanks @Hestapleton 😊) even if we‘re a little lower on steps than last summer! I‘ve been more consistent with workouts and they‘re becoming part of my routine 👍 4y
squirrelbrain I achieved everything I set out to do, even if it did cause me a teensy bit of stress sometimes but, what can I do, I‘m a list-ticket and a perfectionist. Maybe that should be next time‘s challenge for me; not to worry so much about achieving goals! Thanks for organising Lynn, I really loved it and I‘m definitely keeping up with the mindfulness and yoga 😘 4y
cobwebmoth I didn't finish any books, but I did write in my journal more days than not, and even though it wasn't part of my goals I started doing a weekly yoga and meditation practice. Thanks for organizing all of this! 4y
julesG Thank you for doing this, Lynn! I might not have managed to do all the things on my list of goal, but I made loosening my shoulders a priority in my daily yoga practice and the shoulders are better. Managed to read all the pledged books, although I had my doubts about it. 4y

AsYouWish I would say this month was more challenging for me that I could have ever imagined (I work at a school, so this month was emotional for me.). However I did take time for me and I made great progress on my NaNoWriMo project. It gave me an outlet that I needed. Some of my other goals got pushed to the side, but I think that is okay, because I needed to process everything that was happening. 4y

This week didn‘t get off to a promising start when I couldn‘t get streaming church to work, so instead I cleaned out my nightstand, listened to podcasts, and did some crafts. The rest of the week I finished two books, reorganized my Libby tags, attended virtual book club, and had a nice gossipy phone call with a coworker. Now the cat is snoring away on the arm of the couch. #bfc28

My progress on #BFC28

1. 8 books: 11/8 --- and going strong!
2. Meditate/Mindfulness - Using the 10% Happier App 13/20 days. Not sure if I am doing good but I am trying. Its harder some days than others!
3. Reach out to people - 17/20 I am enjoying being more social (I am a social butterfly)
4. Get fresh air daily - Changed to Yoga 4/20 -- just got a space heater so gonna try yoga tomorrow

I have meditated every day for 10 minutes. My meditation practice has really become a part of my routine now. I‘ve also published 2 new blog posts this week and have another one in draft form. So yay!

CocoReads I just haven‘t done much this go round. I get plenty of steps in at work and there‘s so much extra now involved with work (extra walking to get to the designated employee entrance, washing scrubs daily and showering as soon as I get home, etc) that I haven‘t bothered to track anything. My sleep has somewhat normalized though and except for short turnaround shifts, I‘m getting decent rest. 4y

Cupcake12 I‘ve actually had a good few days. I drink herbal tea in the afternoons now. I‘ve also finished a book this week which I really enjoyed and looking forward to starting a new book later this evening. A much more positive and grounded week ❤️ 4y

And Easter basket for my oldest who lives on the other side of town, cupcakes and a small gift for my sister because today‘s her birthday, and some cupcakes for my parents. After lunch, I‘m going to do some door deliveries. That‘s making me feel good today. 4y

julesG I'm exhausted today. Perfect, I'll get my kids back tomorrow. 😶 4y
kspenmoll I have walked 2 miles everyday. Started some yoga only 10 minutes every other day. My reading has slowed because teaching has taken up so much time. But happy to have a job, live my bosses, staff, kids.my district is on vacation this week ! I plan to enjoy spring outdoors, enjoy my family, ready my porch & read. I have so much to be grateful for. While my son was growing up we talked about 3 “highlights” each day before bed. We resurrected this. 4y
MeganAnn This week has been tough. Started officially working from home this week and the kiddo started distance learning for school. My husband has also been working from home most days. He wasn‘t feeling well and had some chest pains this week which added to my stress level earlier in the week, but the doctor said it‘s nothing serious and that he‘s healthy. So with all that, it‘s been tough to do anything else besides read which is my escape... 4y
cobwebmoth I've been writing in my journal most days. Still have no desire to read, though. The only productive thing I've been doing is making masks for my family members that still have to go out of the house to work. 4y
MeganAnn But I did manage to get two days of yoga in with my son. It‘s been fun finding videos on YouTube we can do together. And I did get a chance to do a watercolor tutorial I‘ve been wanting to do one day which helped me relax. I still need to figure out how to work yoga and watercolor into our schedule since it‘s not normal right now. The good thing is that it‘s becoming things I want to do more than have to do which helps. 4y
squirrelbrain I‘ve done OK on the mindfulness (10 mins a day) and did yoga 5 times this week instead of the targeted 4. Finally figured out which yoga class I like and I‘m doing that every time, instead of trying new poses that I‘m not entirely confident with. It‘s more relaxation yoga than ‘keep fit‘ yoga, but that‘s fine. I‘ve now read 13 books out of 15 so on course to exceed that target. (edited) 4y

wanderinglynn @ElizaMarie some days meditation just is and I don‘t feel anything either. But I think meditation is more about cumulative effects because overall I am feeling more centered & balanced. Keep at it. You got this 🙌🏻 4y
ElizaMarie @wanderinglynn Thanks. I think its helping but my mind wanders more some days than others. Working during this pandemic is making me super anxious (like everyday) but I think this helps me feel more centered. 4y
wanderinglynn @ElizaMarie I‘m using Headspace and the guide always says that the mind will wander but the important thing is to recognize your mind is wandering and to bring it back to the breath/your mantra/whatever your focus is. 4y
Meaw_catlady Wow! You are crushing it dear!!! I did all my daily yoga this week!!! And I went on an audiobook walk yesterday! And today I have been audio cleaning! I have been working on my art and also creating multiple dnd characters! As well as learning 5 new songs on the ukulele!!! 💕💕💕 4y

NeedsMoreBooks I have completed 5/6 books that I had set a target for. I started and completed them, and finished separately 3 that I had started before the challenge. I have been walking nearly everyday when the weather is good. Mediated everyday. I have not been that regular with my journeying. 4y

AsYouWish I have tried to take more time to do things for me this past week. I have slowed down in my reading, just not really motivated right now. I am not eating everything in sight and trying to make good choices as to what I eat and how much, so that is good. 4y

RainyDayReading Haven‘t been doing that well. It‘s hard to get time to myself when it seems like I have to be the entertainment for the other ones in the house. I‘m making progress in a book which is better than the previous week and I have managed to write a few bits here and there. But it‘s hard to make time for this stuff when life has been turned on it‘s head. Better luck this week I guess. 4y
sheshedbooks Not a good week for me. Tuesday was a successful coffee-free day. But my Thursday was not coffee-free and I also started drinking more than my daily limit of one cup. I did make progress on the remaining 4 ARCs, but still below my expected progress. 4y

#BFC28 #28DayBFC #BFCHabit Check-in! 1. I read 9.25 hours - still reaching for that 10. 2. Finished another book 2/5 3. Walked 44,934 steps Yay! Walks: 14/30 days. 4. A bonus - lost 4 lbs. as of Thursday! 5. Made 21 face masks + 11 in progress - sewing every day.

Andrew65 Coronavirus has affected, especially daily walks, as well as the children extra work I have to do. Need to pick up the exercise element. Also should have read 14 books but only read 11. Was due to be off work next two weeks but fully at work next week now so could effect outcome but still trying to get there. @wanderinglynn (edited) 4y

Updates for #BRC28

1. Books: 6/8
2. Meditation/Mindfulness: 9/14 - My internet didn't work so I couldn't continue to use the app, working now though
3. Reaching out: 12/14
4. Fresh air/Yoga: 4/14 (its freezing, I just got my internet but I have no heater int his studio I'm renting so its hard to get out from under the heated blanket)
5. Organize/Clean: 8/14

So, for my physical health I am starting to take vitamins (daily, iron, C and D)

Here‘s my tracker for #bfc28- I can‘t believe we‘re halfway through already!

It‘s all going OK so far, mindfulness every day has been easy as I‘ve got into a routine with that. Going for a walk or doing some gardening every day, is also OK. Although I‘ve achieved the yoga 4 times per week, I‘ve had to push myself.

I‘ve read 8 books out of the 15 target, but that might be an issue going forward as I‘ve a couple of chunksters on the go....

AsYouWish I haven‘t had much motivation to read lately, which isn‘t great since I am in 11 reading groups, so I am hoping to get some reading in soon. I started using my Harry Potter Wizards Unite app again so that is helping me to move more. I am doing NaNoWriMo so that is helping me to do something for me and relax. I have been talking to some of my students on our class discussion board so that is helping my mood a bit too!! 4y

Cupcake12 To be honest...Ive found it difficult to stay away from a cuppa as it‘s my comfort drink. I‘ve had a herbal/fruit tea about 3 times this week. The statistics in the UK have not been good and now going into our 3rd week of lockdown. I‘ve managed to read everyday which is something I proud of and I look forward to emailing my buddy who I met through Litsy ❤️ 4y

rockpools Yay for meditation every day! 🙌🏻! I‘ve done 3/7 workouts BUT I‘ve discovered Karen Hauer (from Strictly‘s) YouTube workouts which are fun and upbeat and at my level. I‘ve also just started a Reframing Anxiety self-guided course, which involves lots of reflection and journaling. Too early to know how effective it is (forever the skeptic. Part of me thinks it‘s dodgy Internet gubbins 😬) but it‘s making me think differently about stuff. We‘ll see. 4y
Exbrarian Doing great, but not reading as much as I had planned. Walking everyday, cooking fresh food / eating healthy everyday. A little weight loss for good measure. Finished one challenging jigsaw and about to start another. 4y
julesG Did workouts; my physiotherapist said my abs are slowly showing. Still struggling with positivity. Have not killed the kids yet. Sick and tired of saying no to "Can we watch 'Chucky'?" though. I might just give in tonight after I set up the Li-lo in my bedroom (I might get a few dolls out of the storage box for the right atmosphere too). ? 4y

EadieB I forgot what my exact goal was but I think I said I was going to move and get rid of some of my books and read about 20 of them in a month‘s time. I have swapped 300 books since January and I have read 7 books in the past 2 weeks. 4y

DieAReader My original goal for #BFChabit was 5 books (any format)& incorporating meditation into daily practice. I have read 3 books so far & Jm working in a couple others as well. Meditation has not been tackled yet, however I have been working on establishing a daily routine. I‘m cooking/making meals more often, spending time enjoying the outdoors (in front porch 🤣) or in the back yard. Little things that will help improve my overall mental health 📚🎶 4y
