4/5
Darcy and Elle make a terrible first impression on a disastrous first date, but when Darcy lies to her brother about being in a relationship, she and Elle are forced to spend time together and get a second chance at the spark they both felt.
This pride and prejudice retelling is set over the holidays, but doesn't feel like a holiday romance. It was a fun read, and I liked the ways it was inspired by Austen without being a strict retelling.
A cute queer Christmas pride and prejudice retelling - those are all magic words to make me love a book! I heartily recommend if you want some lesbian lizzy and darcy laughs in your life this Christmas. My one complaint is that Elle's character felt quite a long way from Lizzy's character in P&P, and more like a generic rom com heroine, while Darcy was a super thoughtful interesting spin on Mr Darcy. I'll totally finish the series tho.
I am reading a pretty brutal memoir and needed something easy, breezy, and a little bit cheesy to break it up. This fit the bill. Romance is not my genre at all but can be a good palette cleanser for me every once in a while. Predictable, but cute.
“…and just because her definition of success was a little different, she wasn‘t automatically a failure.”
This was a quality contemporary romance about two women who begin with a fake dating set up that grows into more. It was just a fairly typical setup, so I was wavering at borderline pick, but the declaration at the end was excellent. 4⭐️
Another #roll100 read done & #bookspinbingo Bingo!
Enjoyed! Loved the nods to Pride & Prejudice, the pop culture references, and the astrology element. A believable #lgbtqia romance with a bit of steam, relatable characters, and lots of heart!
#bookspinbingo - no bingo this month 🤷🏻♀️

Written in the Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
❤️ I really LOVED this one! This was a new author for me. I'll definitely read more of her. 😃 👍 I connected with the characters and the story was believable, sweet and also smutty at times. My favorite so far!

❤ I'm really enjoying this one! This was a new author for me, and I'm glad I'm not disappointed. I really like her writing style. I'm on chapter 15, and loving it. YAY! So far I haven't had a lot of luck with sapphic books, but this one is good! 😃 👍

Super enjoyed this book! Based in Seattle, Elle is a “quirky” twenty-something who runs an astrology business with her best friend and roommate, Margot. Elle gets set up on a blind date with her quasi-worker, Brendon‘s older, uptight sister, Darcy. As total opposites, they have a horrible, chaotic first date, but decide to “fake” a relationship to get their families off their backs. But soon they‘re not faking it anymore...
Pretty cute. If you're looking for something fluffy with some heartache and steamy elements, you'll probably enjoy this romcomin which two very different women work on not falling in love. You may especially enjoy it if you're interested in astrology. I didn't enjoy the undertone of aphobia with Darcy's bro forcing her into dates and insisting she needed to be seeing someone. #LGBTQ #romcom
Thanks for the tag, @coffees !
1. Keep up on reviews 😏 also ~200 reads (because Storygraph and Goodreads count comic issues and picture books too)
2. Intangible? It hasn't happened yet!
3. I am enjoying this book well enough. I don't love romantic comedy, and I don't like the undertones of aphobia, but it's an entertaining read so far.

I enjoyed reading this, more than I thought I would. This made me feel good because this was so heartwarming cute story.
I liked characters, there were even nice secondary characters in the story. Banter in this book made me smile! ( #Adventathon )
This was really light & cozy read, even though the plot was everything else than unique.

Delightful! Funny, steamy, inclusive. Really enjoyed this book on #audio . And my #Bookspin was the first read of the month! #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
Decent, ok rom com. The fact it focus on a wlw couple gives it extra points! A bit funny, maybe a bit too long, but overall a nice, light read!
Darcy and Elle have the exact right combination of tenderness and banter. ❤️ #romcom #contemporaryromance
A very cute queer YA romance with a fake dating trope.
Read this book!!! Read this book now!!! Buy it, download it, borrow it, steal…. Wait don‘t steal it, that is wrong, but seriously find this book and read it!!! It is a super cute romcom loosely based on Pride and Prejudice. I fell in love with the characters from the first words to the last. It all started with a disaster date, which led to a lie, which led to a deal, which led to…. You will have to read it to find out!!
💙💙💙💙💙
A fantastic feel-good rom-com in a book.
I‘m a sucker for the fake dating trope and Darcy and Elle are so cute together and make each better and help the other grow throughout the book. Loved.
What a fabulous reading month June was! I read 45 books, some fun rereads of favorites like King of Scars, Percy Jackson and The Golden Compass.
Some big stand outs were Written in the Stars, Patience & Esther, Little & Lion, Tipping the Velvet, and Malice. So many great books read though! See any faves?
Delightful
This was simple but it was cute and fun. A light romance where I liked both characters.
Nothing like a beautiful spring day, reading a new book on the front porch☺️ #currentread #tbr #birthdaytbr
Cute f/f romance, with a fake relationship trope. It was pretty predictable, but characters are likable and steamy sexy bits.
⭐️⭐️✨
Book #27: Well, it wasn‘t terrible. I liked it because it was queer, and I love a good gay romance. But I didn‘t relate too much to the characters in other ways (not necessary, and personal to everyone of course). I found the characters and relationships to be... nonplussing. But it‘s definitely better than it‘s straight counterpart, so still good for me 🔮🫀✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was an okay romcom. It was promoted as a Pride and Prejudice adaptation but it definitely was not. But the characters were relatable and there were some cute date night scenes. This was #bookspinbingo No. 20 and #tbrdeckofcards 8♦️ which was Genre:Romance.
I‘m not sure why this is being compared to P&P? It‘s a cute romance, although the fake romance part was over way too quickly and the final conflict was sooooo stupid.
⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sitting down for a spell of #audioknitting while I wait for the washing machine to finish. Covered in cat hair as always 🤷♂️ 😂
Darcy and Elle went on a disastrous blind date. The next day, Darcy asked Elle to be her fake gf to get Darcy's brother (who also happens to work with Elle) off her back. Darcy and Elle start fake dating and surprise, surprise, they fall in love. It's got all the cheesy puns and romance cliques, but somehow it was sweet.
Fun Read!
My favorite thing were the - What Brunch, or Rom Com, etc: Are You Based on Your Zodiac Sign? ✨
#Snowpocalypse /#Coldpocalypse is over but let's not rush into things. Enjoying one last morning by the fire before I get back to work. Since Written in the Stars has provided a "What Brunch Food Are You Based on Your Zodiac? Cancer—Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal"; I'm having tea & oatmeal.
And then #Pemberlittens @sprainedbrain I decided on a glass of bubbles to celebrate being able to quietly read. #musingsonmansfield #daydrinking

'I‘ve still got cobwebs and Jon Bone Jovi hanging in my apartment.....He‘s, um, my apartment skeleton. We thought it‘d be humerus.' - Having just finished Gothic Thriller The Sanatorium & Ongoing A Promised Land; needed a 'Humerus' read for this weekend. 🕸🦴😂

When social media astrologer Elle meets actuary Darcy, sparks fly - igniting a hot mess. One thing leads to another and the two find themselves in a fake relationship heading into the holidays. But could it be that the stars have a plan for these two? This hot mess might just create a forever flame.

Like I have said in the past I am a sucker for fake dating. Elle and Darcy had a first date disaster. But when Darcy wants to get her family off her back about dating someone she tells them she just met someone Elle. They decide to fake date through the holidays. But what will happen when they start to realize they are starting to have feeling for each other. I can‘t wait to read Darcy‘s brother Braden‘s book later this year!
I really enjoyed the characters in this book. I feel as though I truly got to know them and they became my friends. I wanted a little more from the ending but I think that‘s because I wasn‘t ready for their story to end and I want to know even more about their future. ❤️
A cute queer Romance with some of my favorite tropes including enemies to lovers and fake dating.
A cute, sexy contemporary romance about a messy, bi, boxed wine drinking social media astrologer and an uptight $56 dollar a glass chardonnay drinking lesbian actuary with trust issues. A very loose Pride and Prejudice retelling, plus fake relationship! The book could have used another copy edit especially to add variety between the two sex scenes. I also wanted a more drawn out ending. Last but certainly not least: this book is hopelessly white.
I really enjoyed this romance, and it made for a great book club discussion! Darcy was very... Mr. Darcy like, although I don't know that Elle is anything like Elizabeth. Quite enjoyed the supporting characters and look forward to their upcoming books! Book #4 for 2021
Too often mainstream wlw romances are kind of desexualized, and I love how sexy the attraction between Darcy and Elle in this book is already. ("For a moment, Darcy wondered what Elle would look like, sweat dripping down that bare expanse of neck, her back bowing against Darcy's sheets.") ???

Special Saturday night takeout dinner and another queer romance! I think I might be at the beginning of a romance spree...
#Romantsy #QueerBooks
Elle and Darcy‘s first date is a disaster but they agree to fake date through the holidays to get their families off their backs for various reasons. I had a rough start with this one because my first impression of Darcy wasn‘t great and so like Elle‘s best friend I was wary of her and she had to win me over. There are some really sweet moments and some really sexy ones though. In the end, I enjoyed this romcom and will pick up Brendon‘s story ⬇️
"So far, the verdict was out, the inner workings of one Elle Jones less of a neat little package to be unwrapped and more like a clown car full of increasingly random and terrifyingly endearing quirks."
Sapphic fake dating trope? Hell yeah! Count me the f— in!
There was quite a bit I liked, but it dragged at times.
