I stop by the thrift store every week, and take a swing through the book section for kids books for our Little Free Library (we‘re right near the elementary school, so it gets a lot of kid business.) I found a like-new copy of Rebel Girls for less than a dollar, and it‘ll go in the LFL tomorrow morning before school.

Both volumes are wonderfully illustrated and inspiring compilations of 200 real heroine stories revealing a world of infinite possibilities

I find this series to be more of a great idea than a great compilation. The idea behind these are wonderful but they are not very well thought out. This is not stories for bedtime. This would spark way to many questions and much conversation for young children to grasp before bed. Then again, I don't think that all of these women necessarily changed the world either.

This wasn't for me. I love storys of women who are worth looking up to but this had some who definitely weren't worth their pages. I definitely would not put this on my children's shelves.

I‘m not just a girl, I‘m a steminist and a feminist who remembers the strong females of the past.

I read the tagged book and I really enjoyed the story of Jacquotte Delahaye (Back From the Dead Red), and I thought her story was really cool and wondered if there was a historical fiction novel about her. Google didn‘t have any answers, but I would love to know if there were any recommendations!

I really enjoy these books it‘s fun to learn about all of the fascinating females

The book features the real-life stories of 100 inspiring women and accompanied by a full-page illustration for each story, created by a female illustrator. There‘s a Rebel Girls 2 and I‘ll be interested to know who other #extraordinary women are being featured.

This was ok. It's pretty basic. Definitely a kids book. The narrators are quite good, Ashley Judd and Alicia Keyes among others.

Reading a couple of these tonight. This book is so interesting! I‘m learning a lot!

I was approved for this title on #netgalley today and I cannot express to y‘all how excited I am for it! These are my favorite books to gift to young girls and I had no idea they were coming out with one that‘s focused on immigration, a topic so near and dear to my heart. My second grader was just diagnosed as Dyslexic (it turns out this explains 1/2 of my family‘s reading struggles). My daughter is smart, funny, and her spatial reasoning and artistic talents are amazing. For our last round of testing (vision) we‘ve been listening to this collection of stories on the drive.

This collection is empowering and the narration is great. I can‘t wait to listen to book 2!

Inspired by @Anitareads I finally started my analogue Book-Diary. I've been wanting to do this for some time, because I've found that it does me good to do things appart from the digital world.

I 💜 that there are books like this for my daughter! (Her LEGO set features 2 women in the book!)

Filled with daring women (not all of whom I like or agreed with, but they are/were still extraordinary and powerful in their own right...ahem Margaret Thatcher), I like the diversity, both of profession and culture. There are pirates, dancers, athletes, scientists, politicians, activists, and more!

It feels like it has been months since it has been cool enough for me to read outside! It‘s still humid, but at least the temp is below 80F!

I only have enough time for brief dips, so I‘m reading one of Maya‘s books that is easy to pick up and put down, one that we‘ve read parts of together in the past. I never grow tired of this amazing book chock full of amazing women!

Gifts for my little sister!!! Here in India, we celebrate Rakhi to celebrate the relationship of brothers and sisters. It involves great food🍛🍱🍲🥗🥘, meeting up with family👨‍👨‍👦‍👦👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 and lots of gifts 🎁🎁🎁. But, since I don't have a brother. So, my sister and I, celebrate our relationship on Rakhi💖💖. So, today these gifts were finally delivered and I am super excited to give these to her. 🤓🤓🤓
