I have to confess I have never read the original 😅 it's on my list! However this was a gorgeous adaptation, a graphic novel on ebook!

Such a sweet adaptation with lovely interpretations of the characters and especially the settings. Also reminds me that I still haven‘t tried the Netflix show!
Anne of Green Gablrs a graphic novel is adapted by Mariah Marsden from L.M. Montgomery‘s classic tale. I really enjoyed this adaptation and think it would be especially great for kids. Anne Shirley is an 11 year old girl with an absolutely unstoppable imagination. The tale of this young girl takes you on a journey with all of its many ups and downs.
Jarring how keeping orphans for their work (child labour) seems commonplace, and keeping Anne only if she promised to behave. While she won them over despite incidents and it's to the adoptive siblings' credit as much as the adoptee, I have to wonder what would have happened if she started out NOT adorable and precocious? How many foster kids read this story and blame themselves for not being sweet/imaginative/clever enough to warrant adoption?
Trees 3! I greatly appreciate Brenna Thummler's artistry as a whole, but, no surprise, in particular, I love the trees.
THE reigning drama queen, but she's got a way with words. Blasphemous perhaps, but if I'm going to be reacquainted with the series I read as a child, I'm glad there was a graphic novel adaptation so I could avoid some of the fuss and the frilly language.

Just finished rereading the series ❤️ decided to cap it off with a graphic novel adaptation 😊 the illustrations captures the way Anne interacts with nature beautifully 🪴LMM‘s passages about the beauty of nature are transcendental indeed 🌅about to start tangled web #kindredspirits
I enjoyed this graphic novelization of a favorite book. And this was always one of my favorite scenes!
Finished this graphic novel adaptation today. I liked that it wasn‘t too wordy and relied a lot more on the illustrations to tell the story. The style reminded me of the illustrations from one of my favorite books as a kid, Just Plain Fancy. #BookSpinBingo
Mrs. Rachel Lynde, the Cuthbert‘s neighbor, is the epitome of #officious! Nosy, bossy, and doles out a plethora of unwanted advice on almost every subject.

Things I enjoyed about this GN: the depiction and aging of Anne (and the art in general), that it showed more of the story than it told in words, that the authors did a great job of staying true to Anne‘s evolution from girl to woman.
However, I wish that they had made each novel into a separate graphic novel rather than jamming them all into one.
I still cried when Matthew died. I always cry then. 😭

I‘m not generally a fan of graphic novels, but the drawings in this one were sweet and captured the special relationships among the characters even if it gave very brief mention to some major episodes - the mouse! That would have been great illustrated. Overall a fun read and a good intro to Anne for young readers.
This was such a good book, I definitely want to watch the movie and read the non-graphic novel.
Nothing like devouring a whole graphic novel because you feel too unsettled to sleep.
This is a beautiful graphic novel and a delight to read. I find thee way that the adults treat Anne in this book to be completely horrible, but the story is overall sweet and this graphic novel is an excellent representation. #graphicnovel #comic #adaptation
After reading my first graphic novel this year I thought I would give this a go. As a huge fan of the original book and the movie series I was nervous, however there was no need. This was just as charming. I feel like a few of the details were different but it didn't detract from the spirit and feel.
And most importantly it allowed me to introduce one of my all time favourite characters to my two year old, when we read a few pages together.
This graphic novel was delightful! Lovely, colorful illustrations. Book 50 4⭐️
Just started this one and had to share the dedication. Hoping its as good as the novel.
One more of my favorites I had to include!

As someone who has loved Anne of Green Gables since I was a little girl, I must say they did an excellent job of capturing the essence of Anne & LMM‘s original story. I was wary at first, but I adore the artwork, and was also moved to tears more than once. I‘ll post my fave lol moment from the book after this. Highly recommended to fans of Anne! And don‘t forget the E! 5⭐️

Overall a successful adaptation to graphic novel form, and one that sees a lot of use at my library. I love the illustrations and art style and the focus on nature as a way of showing the passage of time. I‘m not sure the characterization is deep enough without the background of the original novel to prop it up, though.
Anne‘s cup of happiness was full .. cup of happiness , I liked that !!!
This was charming and beautiful and everything I wanted it to be in black and white on my Kindle. It makes me want to pick up a full color hard copy so that I can really swoon!
Anne of Green Gables is an all-time favorite of mine. This graphic novel hit all the high points and brought back many memories.
Beautifully done.
It was free via Amazon Prime, by the way...
Lovely GN💚💚
I loved the illustrations in the graphic novel version of this classic. I‘m not sure it would have made much sense to me if I hadn‘t just read the novel though. #heycarrots #24in48 #SocialDistancingReadathon
The first book of my momcation. Three days away, alone with just my tea kettle and books. I borrowed this one and I think I am going to have to get a hard copy. The illustrations are beautiful!
It had been possibly twenty years since I read this series, so I hardly remembered anything plot wise. Still, some phrases popped out and jogged my memory. The graphic novel rendition has beautiful illustrations and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
A snow day nostalgic read and an excellent #GraphicNovel adaptation. Marsden is thoughtful in her choice of moments to include and at distilling them. I have a few quibbles about the illustrations (no pupils in characters' eyes was weird, and Diana isn't plump, the roads aren't red) but I did love the colour palette and the landscape and domestic details. It never mentions PEI as the setting. What are you trying to do American adapters??
"I'm so glad I get to live in a world where there are Octobers."
Anne and Diana eating ice cream at the picnic. In general I really like the illustrations in this #GraphicNovel adaptation, but I am disappointed that Diana isn't beautifully plump with dimples in her elbows like Anne is jealous of in the original. I also find the artist's choice to not draw pupils in eyes a bit weird? I love the colour palette though and the expressiveness of people's faces. #AnneofGreenGables
Anne of Green Gables a graphic novel by Mariah Marsden is a great way to encourage historical fiction in a more entertaining way. The story is about a family who lives on a farm looks to adopt a son to help keep the farm going but rather gets sent a young girl. We get to learn what an imaginative person Anne is through awesome pictures illustrated by Brenna Thummler.
Been wanting to read this for a while. Stayed true to the original and brought back lots of memories.

As a lifelong Anne fan, this was perfect. The illustrations captured the setting really well and it was a faithful adaptation to the original.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a really cute and generally well-executed adaptation, however, the lack of scleras made the eyes look a bit odd. I know that‘s nit picky, but I‘m just being honest. Otherwise the illustrations are really beautiful. Anne still touched my heart.
It‘s strange to love a place like you would a person, but I do!
I loved the Anne of green gables movies when I was younger! Eventually once I got older I tried to read the book but got bored because I had seen the movie and had ideas as to what would happen. I would definitely recommend this version for younger kids to read before watching the movie.
GRAPHIC NOVEL VERSION. This is a great way to ease kids into the real Anne of Green gables books! This is such a cute story and may seem unimaginable to some kids. Some kids may love the spunk Anne has throughout the book.
#LiteraryLuck Day 9: For #GreenReads, Fats, one of the GatheringBooks ladies, recommends the graphic novel adaptation of Anne Of Green Gables. She noted: “I devoured the book in one sitting! I enjoyed Brenna Thummler‘s illustrations and I love how the comic panels reflected the scenes I saw on Netflix. Anne Shirley was quite a character.” Her full review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-icI
I LOVE Anne of Green Gables the book and movies, but I feel that the graphic novel was a bit let down in comparison. There was so many good parts left out, and the transitions were not good.

Snow day tomorrow, and here is some of my reading list.
#BookNLunch! Library closed early due to the imminent blizzard/ice storm, so I got to have lunch with @MrBook today! 😊 Deli meat sandwich on a toasted Kaiser roll; cheesy poofs; and V-8 juice. Yum! 😋 This has been another presentation of: #MrBookBookBabeKitchen.
By the way, this book is yet ANOTHER #BlameItOnLitsy read! 😄
After seeing Litsy comments on Anne of Green Gables I decided to order a copy for my Grand Children. It gave me the opportunity to order A Summer in Sicily by Jo Thomas as a gift for my partner and a book for myself, The Darker Arts by Oscar De Muriel. The two latter books are due to be published in August.
Enjoyed this graphic novel adaptation of one of my favourite books. It made me want to reread the books!
This is such a treasure. I got it from the library but will be adding a copy to my own personal library. It covers the essence of Anne‘s adventures and imagination. The illustrations are enchanting. I swoon! This is a must for all Anne lovers. #librarybook #readwomen
