Cute premise but I didn't enjoy the execution. As usual, contemporary romance is just not my thing.

Finished this one in November. I like this author‘s style of storytelling where it‘s a bit magical but still reality. Eileen is on her way to NY from GA and pulls into a small town and gets stuck there. It just so happens it‘s the small town from her favorite series. She gets to hang out with her favorite characters and maybe fall in love. It is a romance.
I‘m surprised with how good I‘m doing on #tenbeforetheend! 5 read and 5 more to go! Of course I have all the chunksters left! 😊
I went into this with high hopes, AP is one of my favorite authors. The town was dreamy and I could feel all the descriptions, but the story was lacking. I was ready to throw my kindle across the room as it was ending. My stomach was in knots but it actually turned out how I hoped. Overall not fantastic, but still a fun romance. Book #98 in 2024
Elsy‘s fiancé leaves her weeks before their wedding. On the surface, she handles the fallout. She cancels the vendors, recovers as much money as she can, continues to perform her job with excellence. But she stops dreaming except between the pages of her favorite romance novels. She finds herself traveling to enjoy what was previously an annual group vacation on her own. She‘s waylaid in the cutest — & most curiously familiar — of small towns.??
Ashley Poston needs a better editor. The first page of her newest romance has a glaring typo (two prepositions next to one another instead of just choosing the one that works best), and she‘s mentioned AI-generated English papers twice in the span of 3 pages.
I‘m available. 👋🏻 Just sayin‘.
This book was super tricky for me. I actually almost gave it up about a third of the way through, because I was just kind of bored, but I persisted, and it was...fine. The premise seemed interesting, but what really bugged me was bad editing! Plenty of unnecessary repetition -- like the time Elsy leaves a ten dollar bill on the table (to pay for lunch) twice in the span of about three paragraphs.
Sigh.
This was a cute book about a grieving reader - for loosing both her boyfriend and favorite reader - in different ways that still impacted her so strongly. Within said grief, she basically finds herself in her authors world. I loved reading about this immersive experience. The romance on the side just didn‘t fit right to me. Said I don‘t need love, then why talk so much on it? Could have focused on the grief better. Otherwise beautiful written book
I love this author. This is not my favorite of her books, however.

Okay, so I am really really loving this book so far! I've read some of Ashley Poston's YA books and really enjoyed them, but I think this adult novel of hers is my favorite of her work so far! It really is such a delightful ode to book lovers! 💕📚
Anyone else LOVE matching their bookmark with their book? 💕📚 It just gives me such a little zing of joy! 🤭
Oh, this was fiction inside of fiction yarn was every bit as adorable and unbelievable as the author intended it to be. I was in exactly the right mood for this.
This was a lovely light romantic read, a story within a story about people who love books and lose themselves in them. Who doesn‘t dream of getting to spend time in and with your favourite characters ?!
Overall I liked this one, but I didn‘t love it as much as her previous books. It had a nice premise and I liked the main protagonist, but the love interest was a bit bland. The side characters were enjoyable though. 3.5⭐️

A quick review as I feel asleep last night before I could post my last finished book for July. I enjoyed this sweet fantasy romance-com for book lovers. How many of us have wished we could be transported to the setting of our favorite book series? A good summer romance that made me smile & tear up a little too.

It finally cooled down here enough yesterday to make being outside enjoyable again! ☀️🌿 Lots of sunshine and a great breeze as well! Perfect weather for reading at the park! 💕📖
I had to stop by the library for a hold this morning. I knew if I didn't go directly to the desk to collect said hold that I'd leave with more books that I don't need to check out right now. I did it anyway. 😆
