My third attempt at a #booksleeve is a fail. This one was supposed to be cozy sized but it came out too wide and a little too tall. BUT most of my seams are straight. 👏🏻
It‘s fun learning and pretty relaxing, even failing, after the work week I‘ve had.

Me reading one chapter a day with #Pemberlittens:

1. I started late so the first day had to read up to chapter 3
2 Day 2,managed to read just one chapter
3.Working very late,missed a couple of days
4.Tried to just catch up but got hooked and passed the group.
5.Decided to wait and not read the book until the group caught up with me.
6.Decided to just read one more chapter but ended staying up late finishing the book 😔

Last week was an #epicfail. I bailed on 21 Immortals and started When No One is Watching on Sunday, and then didn‘t even crack a book open all week. 😩 So, instead of showing that sad, sad report, I created a webtoon. I just started Mexican Gothic and am hoping that holds my attention.

Graciouswarriorprincess Let me know about Mexican Gothic. @DGRachel , it‘s on my TBR list. Happy reading! 4y
sprainedbrain What a cute webtoon though! 😂 4y
Cinfhen I love your design!! Bailing is a good alternative some times....don‘t sweat it 😘 4y

#MOvember #TrueBlue For as long as Blue can remember, she‘s been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She doesn't believe in true love, and never thought this would be a problem. But as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she's not so sure anymore. I actually tried to read this book....#EpicFail wayyyyyy to YA for me but it has a 95% rating (I probably ruined its perfect score 😉)

Girl, Woman, Other | Bernardine Evaristo
post image

This year there‘s two winners for the Booker Prize.

I read and loved “Girl, Woman, Other”, so I‘m happy about this winning.
“The Testaments” is still on my tbr, but I‘ve seen a lot of mixed reviews.

Have there ever been two winners before? Does anyone know?
What do you think of the winners?

TheEllieMo This is the third time; the previous occasions have been in 1974 and 1992. The rules were changed after the 1992 decision, stating that “the prize may not be divided or withheld”, so the judges have broken the award‘s own rules 🤷‍♀️. I haven‘t read Girl, Woman, Other yet but if it‘s worthy of being a winner, it should be THE winner. There‘ll be a bit of controversy around this, methinks 5y
Reviewsbylola @TheEllieMo that‘s interesting! I find it difficult to believe they couldn‘t narrow it down to one. 5y
Kalalalatja I‘m with you @Reviewsbylola - one might even get the thought that they just *needed* to give the prize to Atwood, in spite of it not being the better book, so they had to break their own rules 5y

BarbaraBB I have very mixed feelings about this. Atwood wrote a sequel to a book that didn‘t win the Prize but has become a commercial hit since the series. To me that sounds cheap for a Booker Prize especially since the buzz around it created by the Booker itself. So I agree with @TheEllieMo @Reviewsbylola @Kalalalatja . Evaristo should have won. (edited) 5y
AnneCecilie I had no idea that there was a rule against joint winners. That makes the decision even more controversial, I would think. Apparently the judges discussed for 4 hrs and decided on two winners, then they discussed for another 30 min to see if they could choose one. I still agree with you all, it‘s strange that they couldn‘t decide on one. @TheEllieMo @Reviewsbylola @Kalalalatja @BarbaraBB (edited) 5y
Cinfhen I‘ve read both and it‘s RECOGNIZABLY clear that Evaristo wrote the better book. She deserved to be the ONLY WINNER. That said, I think awarding the prize to Atwood will have a negative backlash for The Testaments. The whole thing stinks/ it diminishes the #BookerPrize and their judging committee #EpicFail 5y

By far one of the worst books I have read/listened to. I‘m not even 100% sure what made me keep going when all I wanted was to be done with it. I read the reviews which seemed mixed but I just kept hoping it would get better. All I could think (during the whole book) was that Caroline was completely nuts, and I was right. She was completely coo coo for Cocoa Puffs. #epicfail #audiobook #shecray

jpmcwisemorgan I downloaded it to my phone. 6y
mcipher @jmtrivera Awesome! Glad to have you join us! 6y
mcipher @Carolyn11215 How many are in the series? Are they all good (that you read?) (edited) 6y
Carolyn11215 @mcipher there are 5 books in the series. I‘ve read 4 of them. Loved them all. Going to be sad when I‘m finished with the series! 6y
mcipher @Carolyn11215 That is always tough with a series you love. I‘m excited that if I like it there‘s more to look forward to, though! 6y
