Sharing because so many of you are kindly following this saga:

Zeke had his recent check up with the internal medicine specialist today, and it‘s not the best of news. He slowed down on food consumption around the time I picked up a part time temp job outside the home. By the middle of November, he was barely eating. Thanksgiving was horrible, to say the least, trying to coax him to eat more. We had to drop chemo,… ⬇️

Librarybelle ⬆️…add more meds, and he finally started to eat well. Despite eating well, he has lost a lot of weight, and the specialist is concerned. Normally kitties with small cell lymphoma do not regress this quickly. Zeke had blood done today to see if he is now diabetic or has something else that could a contributing factor. If the blood comes back fine, then it is the lymphoma getting worse, and we‘ll have to do more intense chemo. ⬇️ 2w

Librarybelle ⬆️ You may have noticed that I‘m not on Litsy as much. Between working even part time outside of the home, juggling Zeke‘s medication, juggling my own depressive state, plus worrying over my dad‘s recent stroke and some things my mom is going through…it‘s just a lot. I‘m not in a good mind space, and I honestly say I don‘t have the Christmas spirit to even get my yearly cards sent out. I miss reading. I miss everyone. It‘s just been a lot. ⬇️ (edited) 2w

Librarybelle ⬆️ Thanks to everyone who has reached out, taken the time to either message me, check in on me, or even send me some snail mail as a pick-me-up. It has helped so much. I have started to carve some time, even 5 minutes, to read physical books again, and this is my last week of my temp job before it starts again for the next college semester (they loved my work so much they asked me back—it‘s nice to be in a library again). ⬇️ 2w

Amazon's destruction of James Bond has begun. They released a series of posters of the actors who've played James Bond. Do you notice anything odd? They have photo shopped the pictures to remove the gun from Bond's hand and even in his shoulder holster. Rumor has it they also plan to remove the iconic gun symbol from 007. A small thing with all that's wrong in the world, but I'll be interested to hear the reason behind the changes #notbookrelated

ncsufoxes I‘ve heard that Amazon will alter different parts of movies but that is wild. My husband is a big James Bond fan. Luckily we have all of the movies on DVD (I think, I know we have all the older ones). For a country that is so gun obsessed it is odd that they would remove guns from a British based movie series. 2mo

AnnCrystal Never been a James Bond fan, but doesn't this guy go after bad people who are usually power-hungry and seeking to dominate the world from the shadows. Villains who seek to control world resources, and/or destabilize the world for personal profit??? 🤔🥺.

Don't personally like guns, and I believe in regulations and restrictions...especially for assault rifles and repeaters.

Special thoughts, please. My dad had a stroke tonight right before I left my parents‘ house after visiting for a few hours. Good news is we convinced him to go to the hospital quickly and thus helped make sure he started receiving treatment/monitoring right away.

My dad has a history the consists of a heart attack and two bouts of colon cancer. I so hate hospitals.

I think we all need a laugh, and this one hit me. Found on social media.

Yesterday, not very far from me, 3 officers were killed and 2 wounded while trying to serve a warrant. It even made national news. The details slowly leaking out are absolutely scary.

Such dark times. I‘ll be here with my cats and my house (not apartment) filled with books. And I‘ll manage! 😂 #NotBookRelated

Zeke had his follow up appointment with the specialist today, and the specialist is pleased with his progress, his weight gain, and his overall physical health. We‘re waiting for blood test results to make sure his body is responding well to the chemo.

Librarybelle ⬆️⬆️⬆️ I hardly sleep through the night anymore to feed Zeke and the others when Zeke is hungry. I have a list of when to give Zeke what meds—it‘s not a lot of meds, but his chemo is every other day, and others are twice a day. There are days my emotions get the better of me and I‘m a wreck. My reading time, when I can actually sit and read and not clean kitty items has dropped extremely. I‘ve got other things too that just make things crazy. ⬇️⬇️ 4mo

CBee @IriDas I can relate - I was raised in the Southern Baptist church. I absolutely detest how Bible verses are weaponized and made to fit their narrative. Even worse when they take Jesus‘s teachings (the ultimate pacifist) and twist them. So upsetting and in opposition to everything Jesus believed and taught. 6mo
