I‘ve been reading a lot lately, but I‘m consistently bad about posting on here! I‘ve been struggling to find a job, but I live a short short short walk away from the library so am there almost every day as I wait for people to call me back about a job, and as I await returning to school to study Culinary History.
I forgot to start my timer for the first 5 minutes. But that‘s okay! Happy reading everyone! #24in48 #sohappytoread #letsdothis
I‘ve only lasted about 20 minutes in #24in48 hours tonight. I will go to bed and start again tomorrow! (By the way this is an EXCELLENT read.) #ufos #nonfiction
I am so excited for #24in48 this weekend! I‘m all ready with a pile of books and my new, super cute hoodie! Who else is doing 24in48??
Today I was fired for the first time ever. I have to say it was not the most pleasant experience. I was unwilling to just go with the flow. I stubbornly had to fight the system and stand up for what I KNOW was/is right. And I ended up upsetting my boss who wouldn‘t even tell me he was upset. Instead he ignored me and then today told me I was insubordinate. Now I have all of the time in the world! Reading recommendations?
My current obsession is studying art and artifacts that have been looted, illegally sold, illegally traded, and all the coverups and lies that go along with it. I cannot recommend this book enough. I‘m almost finished and it has drawn me in and not let me go. #readingatwork #chasingaphrodite #museumobsession
15 minute break at work.... #reading #always #michaelcrichton #museumstaff #booksbooksbooks
Do you ever buy a book and plan on reading it when you are flying, but your trip is still a few days a way, so now you have to practice insane amounts of self control to keep from starting the book before you leave? This is my struggle today. Bought this last night, then went out with friends so it wasn‘t tempting me. But I still don‘t leave until tomorrow... #lethalwhite #cantwaittostart
Do you ever buy a book to read during a flight, but your trip is still a few days a way, and now you have to seriously work on your self control to keep from starting the book? I‘m seriously struggling with this right now.
#lethalwhite #cantwaittostart!
Being the enigma that I am, I am reading about dinosaur bone hunting in the 1880s while sitting in the air museum I work at. And I regret none of it. Here‘s to the 7th Crichton book I‘ve read in the past 6 weeks!
I have three more books I plan on adding to my #TBR for #24in48 and I won‘t be reading all of the Edgar Allen Poe book, but I do read bits and pieces of it every time 24in48 comes back around. T-Minus 21 minutes until go time!!
It‘s a rule for me that no matter where I am or where I am going I have at least one book with me at all times. You never know when you will have a minute of downtime for reading. Well today at work it has been a genuine struggle not to read. Not only because I shouldn‘t be reading at work but because I need to be saving my reading material for #24in48. 😭
I‘m rereading Jurassic Park. I‘ve only ever read the first one and want to read the others for #24in48. Also as an historian I just really like this Michael Crichton quote. #jurassicpark #idratherbereading
This is my early morning read before going into work. And I have to say it‘s a rough read. The narrative is so stark. To the character death and sex and life all is the same thing and I‘m unsure if I can handle it. #classics #thestranger #frenchliterature
I work at an aviation museum. But we are helping support the local library. So these are the shirts we will all be wearing once a week. :) #librariesrock
It has been a very long time since I last posted anything here. A lot has happened in my husband and my life. From lots of traveling, to moving and getting new jobs, to my brother getting married life has been super crazy. I haven‘t been reading new books. Just the old familiar ones that bring me comfort when life is chaos. This is the first new book I‘ve read in awhile. I highly recommend it. #aragingspirit
I have to stop and get ready for work. But can I just say I‘m 100 pages into Before We Were Yours and I‘m totally in love with this book. It‘s so frustrating. But in a good way. In a way that keeps me turning the pages, or setting the book down for a second to sigh. #24in48
I know we‘re only on day one but I feel super behind. I didn‘t intend to fall asleep so early last night. I had hoped to have five hours done by this point! Ugh! #24in48
As I‘m reading through Firestarter I am definitely picking up some of the things that inspired Stranger Things.... Charlie seems to refer to the men of the Shop as Bad Men. Just as the kids refer to the men of Hawkins Lab in the show. #24in48
A little light reading to get my day started. Hahaha jk. It‘s Stephen King. No light reading here. But I had to dive right back into #24in48 seeing as I accidentally fell asleep while reading last night. 😴
1. I read everywhere at home... I mean... I will read while blowing my hair dry... so everywhere?
2. Bookmark.
3. On the chapter. Not mid chapter.
4. Drink. Never eat. Hate to ruin a book with food!
5. No sound at all when reading.
6. One book at a time.
7. Everywhere.
8. Silently.
9. NEVER skip ahead!
10. Breaking the spine.
11. NEVER.

A little bit of morning reading before I have to go off to work. I may be 26 years old but I will always adore Rick Riordan. I have no shame. I know what I like. It also helps that I‘m thoroughly obsessed with ancient mythology.
Does anyone else have one of those jobs where you spend your day reading and replying to confusing emails all day long? And then at the end of the day you 1) want read really light and easy to read books or 2) don‘t want to read at all because words have become exhausting? That‘s my life right now! I‘m so exhausted.
When you receive a gift card to Barnes and Noble, and there is a sale online, plus you are a member..... this is the result. 😊❤️ My husband and I were out of town this week when the books were delivered. The drive home was torturous. I was greatly anticipating my books and couldn‘t wait to get home and settle down to rest and read!
This book is excellent! It‘s not behind the scenes looks. It‘s more than eggos and Christmas lights. It‘s about all of the 80s inspiration, about the movies and shows and books and music referenced. About how the Duffer Brothers tip their hats to all of the things they grew up loving and put them into one amazing show.
It‘s been such a long week. The Tendonitis in my hip has flared up and it hurts to do just about anything. Work hasn‘t been great. I miss my family this time of the year. So what does my husband do? Gives me the most beautiful piano for an early Christmas present. I‘ve been playing for 20 years. But haven‘t been able to play much lately because we haven‘t owned a piano. Best. Present. Ever. Best husband ever!
Hello everyone! For some reason lately I‘ve really had the urge to reread through The Hunger Games. So I‘m starting today. It‘s been insanity in my life since the last time I posted we had a BIG bachelorette party for my sis-in-law, a huge wedding for her (that I coordinated and made the cake/cupcakes for), I got a HUGE job promotion, and my family came out from different states and we hosted Thanksgiving. Time for a break and a good book!
Fall evenings were made for sparkly lights, cozy blankets, pots of tea, and well loved books. Almost half way through this, the longest of the Harry Potter books. Just two weeks until I need to be done with all seven of them! Will it happen?!? I hope so. #harrypotter #theorderofthephoenix
I just have to brag on myself for a bit. My husband and I just moved into a house. I have never had a place that I could decorate with my own colors and style until now. I‘ve either lived in a rented apartment or with my parents. I FINALLY got to paint a house in colors I want, and do everything up the way I wanted. Here is the almost completed living room. We just got the rug today! This is now my favorite room for reading!
This has been my entire day so far. It‘s been cold and rainy all morning so I‘ve been in my bed reading The Goblet of Fire (almost done!.... for the 6th time). Soon however I will have to leave the warmth and comfort of my bed and go to work. Look how worn out my book is!
I have not been reading much lately as my life is total chaos. I‘m about 225 pages into the Goblet of Fire, so I‘m a bit behind on my Harry Potter reading. Buuuuuut.... my excuse is I‘ve been working A LOT, I‘ve been helping plan my sis-in-law‘s wedding, and bachelorette party AND I‘ve been repainting and moving into a house. It‘s been insanity. But here‘s a picture of the finished kitchen!
Almost through The Chamber of Secrets! I've been insanely busy and I feel like my reading has been so so slow. But today after I got off of work my husband and I took a drive out to a local market with fall fruits and vegetables for sale, then we came home. I made hot soup for dinner. And now I'm snuggled down reading and sipping tea. #harrypotter
For my sister-in-laws Bachelorette Party the maid-of-honor and I are throwing a Harry Potter party (very low key... neither my sister-in-law or any of her friends and family are crazy when it comes to bachelorette parties). The Maid-of-Honor and I decided we would play Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit so I'm brushing up on my Harry Potter by reading through all of the books by November. ☺️
Lately I haven't been reading as much as we've had a whole myriad of events at my work and we are understaffed. But last night I started this book (after 11) and was up till 1 (oops) when I had to be into work by 7:50 this morning. So needless to say I was exhausted all day but it was worth it. Ruth Ware has a simple writing style I find refreshing after reading some heavier books lately. Though this book is anything but light.
Husband and I have been out of town on a small anniversary celebration, we stopped at a Parisi for a cup of pour over coffee and I read aloud to him from Atlas Obscura. It's been a nice trip. ☺️ #HusbandsOfLitsy
Waiting at the library for my husband to get off of work is one of my favorite past times. I get to sit and read books, and what could be better? I love that he works here! #HusbandsOfLitsy #WhenTwoBookLoversGetMarried
So I ended up renewing my Barnes and Noble membership, ordering The Murder of Edgar Allan Poe, and buying this figurine. I am NOT a knick-knack person. Not at all. But there was no way I was NOT buying this Dustin Figurine. Because he's my favorite character, and according to my husband I'm completely obsessed. It's a sickness really. #barnesandnoble #strangerthings #dustin
Hello Littens! I got a gift card to Barnes and Noble (dreams can come true) and since my husband and I are broke broke broke we never buy books. We are strictly library people. So I am super excited to BUY a book. I would LOVE it if people could recommend some of their favorite books to me. Note: I read almost anything but romance. Not a romance person. 😆 Thanks everyone!
When you are at work and wish you were at home with a hot cup of tea reading your book. Also on a side note the amount of crazy people wanting eclipse glasses is slowly killing my spirit. #solareclipse #iwishiwasreading #mondayblues
