panI really wanted to love it but couldn't bring myself to even like it.. Only finished it hoping it wouldn't end in a super predictable way (which it did). It started out so strong but 1/3 I started having a hard time. The detective was supposed to come off as romantic but I got creepy stalker vibes. I also think the author put too much emphasis on him. Had she stuck to Addie and Vals relationship I think I would have enjoyed it. 😞
pickIf this were adapted to film it would be a bumbling comedy of two former HS bff‘s meeting up for a crazy reason 15 years later. The sidekick would be the beauty and the MC would be less-so - but in that Jennifer Weiner way of reminding us of the many magnificent women we might otherwise miss when we only look to glossy magazines for the definition of beauty. It wasn‘t my favorite Weidner book, but still a fun story.

pickI love Jennifer a Weiner. Her writing is so relatable and her characters are so interesting. This was s really interesting book about friendship and growing up and all of the things in between. It dealt with so many different things that we go through in life and with our friends. I really enjoyed this book!

pickFinished 7/26/17 - This is nothing spectacular about this read and it‘s certainly not a must-read but if you‘re looking for a quick beach book this would fit the bill. Giving it a pick because in its category of chick lit beach reads it is a good option.

I didn‘t participate in the #secretsantagoespostal swap this year, my wonderful friend @kylienoele and I decided to do our own swap. And OMG! She sent me this spectacular package stuffed full of extremely thoughtful, generous gifts! I accidentally went from disc 5 to 9! I was a little confused but then just thought I wasn't paying close enough attention and missed something. Anyway, I'm glad I'm finally into the story. I bailed on the paper copy a few years ago; now in audio the reader's voice sounds too old for the protagonist. These women are in their 30s but the voice sounds like it's in its 60s. Pretty distracting.
