I‘ve been reading romances lately thanks to about a million TikTok recommendations I‘ve come across, and I‘m about to start book two in this series. Witches, mages, demons, etc, very entertaining! Check TW from the author at the start of the book. The series (Emerald Lakes) is on Kindle Unlimited 😎

Romancelandia on Twitter is a never ending source of learning and fascination for me. There‘s an author claiming they started M|F Omegaverse and they‘re claiming another author copied them. M|M has been around for at least a decade so and I don‘t know how much M|F existed at the start but there‘s a LOT of Omegaverse fanfic. Courtney Milan has been tweeting about it if you‘re one Twitter.

I wanted to read Tomi Adeyemi‘s book but then she accused Nora Roberts of plagiarizing her title & half-assed the apology & pretty much stood by while her fans attacked NR. NR was one of the authors plagiarized in the #CopyPasteCris fiasco, her response is “I will burn your crops & salt the earth”. Welp. The plot thickens. It looks like #CopyPasteCris had some of the books plagiarized tucked in with books on writing. There‘s photographic evidence from an interview with the NYT. She wants to blame it on a ghost writer but a couple have come forward and said she‘d offered them work that was going to be extending/fixing/whatever she had already written.

I‘ve learned a lot about writing and publishing in the last 7 to 8 years, and it‘s all been enlightening. But none of it mite so than what I‘ve seen the last couple of years on Book Twitter. Holy biscuits! This is one of the best tweets - I have a few more I may share tomorrow.

It continues. Now #CopyPasteCris is claiming it‘s the fault of her ghostwriter(s) but another ghostwriter has stepped up and said that when they worked for #CopyPasteCris they were given material they assumed was the author‘s and told to make it more complete. And they also weren‘t paid, which appears to be a real problem for ghostwriters (as well as underpayment). There are updates from Courtney Milan and several other people.

The person who plagiarized Courtney Milan‘s Book has submitted the plagiarized work for a RITA - AND she‘s apparently in plagiarized something of Tessa Dare. Romancelandia is gonna burn it all down!

Haven‘t done much #writing in the last week or two but after a break and some good feedback on my first (by people who aren‘t related to me lol). I‘m ready to start seriously revising, as well as working on so@e other things. Plus, I left my assassins (from a writing exercise) hanging out in the wind—is like to see where that goes. #creativitytime

Holy smokes, I never get this many words in a day! Yes, I could probably bring that up to an even 2k or more but I‘m pretty satisfied. #amwriting #campnanowrimo

This documentary is in Hoopla! I watched it to decide if I can use it with my reading class. It's a pretty decent overview of the romance industry. I'm kind of an outsider to romance so always looking to learn more.#romantsy
