This third book is not as compelling a read as the first two, in fact in some places my attention wandered a little, but the ending makes up for it. Most of the characters are great, Wolfe, Santi, Thomas, Khalila, even Dario but I find Morgan very bland. I can't help but picture Christopher Wolfe as being played by Alan Rickman (RIP) though. 4🌟

As the “honored guests” of the book burners in Philadelphia after their escape from the Great Library, Jess & friends have to decide how far they are willing to compromise to stay alive.

3rd in the series, & it feels like a filler. But a filler where the action never stops. We peak, and then plateau at an 11. We get to see more of the world, and more of the Library‘s corruption, but I think this should have been split between 2 and 4. 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑

Its been a while since I've updated due to health concerns but now that testings done I can finally continue reading.
However I'm still struggling to read #TheNovelsoftheGreatLibrary. Which is a look into a world where the #LibraryofAlexandria ruled, an interestingly premise. But bland.
Hoping they pick up at some point!!

This went a lot faster than the first two books. On to book 4!

I was going to say that I think this third book is the weakest in the series so far, but then I thought about some of the character development (specifically with Morgan) and some of the growth in friendships among the group, and I guess this isn‘t as weak as I thought. 😏 It was interesting to see a few more locations in the world of the Great Library, between Philadelphia and the Brightwell estate, but overall the book did feel a bit uneven.

Still enjoyable, because I love the characters and the adventure is well-written, but it does seem as though we are encountering more of the same.

Still a pick for me because when there's action, it's packed with a tense excitement that takes your breath away. There were times though when I felt like we've heard this all before. Also, would have been cool if we had a glimpse of Philadelphia like Alexandria in book one.

The strength of the series is always its character development. I love Khalila and the dark side of Thomas is 🔥!

This is one of those series that I enjoy but am semi ambivalent about. I like the characters and story line and I want to know what happens in the end, but I somehow have to force myself to pick up the next book. Once I'm into it I have enjoyed them and not wanted to put them down but then find myself putting off reading the next book. I'll be starting the 4th right away so as not to give myself any distractions from finishing the series #86of2018

Book 3 in the series and a solid continuation of the series. Hard to say much without spoilers for one of the books.
I will continue the series, but going to give myself some time before starting the next book. So this is where I end for #TheGreatLibraryChapterADay - thanks, it was fun!

Brought my #readingglasses 😉 to bed with me. I'm knackered from peopleing - and I split my lower lip, had to bite it so hard not to comment on a very idiotic/ignorant comment another mother made about the refugee crisis.

I'm hooked! I love this series. Book 3 ended with quite the cliff hanger. I can't wait for the 4th book to come out.

June was insane. I read over 35 books, a lot of DIY ARCs among them. Wish every month was as good as this one.

My statistics for the first half of the year look quite good, I might reach most of my challenge goals.

I am behind on #TheGreatLibraryChapterADay and #OokBOokClub, nor have I started on the #LitsyBuddyRead yet, not to mention all those ARCs that I still have on my NetGalley shelf.

This series is utterly addicting! Now to dive into the fourth book and hopefully get that review up on or around its release date next week!

It's quite nice out here close to 11 pm - if it wasn't for my neighbours. 😬 Urgent phone calls in Greek, Russian and broken German.

Managed to get a lot of rest today. I'd love to sit out here and read another chapter, but it's actually quite noisy.

Starting this today, hopefully I can get it finished in the next day or so and a review typed up. I'd like to get to my ARC of book four before it comes out.

I also still have about 400 pages on the massive tome that is the Empire of Silence.

I have had a terrible week already. Our hours at work were cut and now my boyfriend barely has any at all. We are stressed and emotionally exhausted, and reading is both a chore and a necessity right now.

I finished book 3 ahead of schedule because I can't help it!!! It was too tempting for me. All I can say is this book left me feeling #gobsmacked! It was really really good! And now I'm counting the days to July 3rd for the 4th book 😐

Action packed, well paced. The story is getting interested as questions about this world fade into the background. Great cliffhanger.

I can't even explain how much I love this series. Now, I'm impatiently waiting for the 4th book to come out later this year. I love each of the main characters and how they are a family. I love that they are continuing to fight for what they believe is right. 😍😍😍😍😍😍 5 stars, all day long!

I've gotten really, really far ahead on the Great Library group read hosted by @GarthRanzz and @MinDea and I just can't stop reading! It's sooooooo good!

What bookish apps do you use? (Litsy isn‘t in here bc I use it often and have it on my home screen; the LibraryThing app also lives on my home screen but I put it here for this pic to fill out the grid 😋) My library doesn‘t subscribe to Overdrive anymore so I don‘t have Libby, but keep OD for Sync audiobooks. Since rediscovering Scribd, I rarely check CL and infrequently buy audio unless it‘s bundled with an ebook.

This is the first time in months that there has not been a single meeting, social obligation, event, or other planned activity on my calendar for an entire weekend. So I decided on at least part of what I‘ll do with that.

This book had me captivated on every page!!! This is an amazing series with a fantastic storyline and characters you come to love! I can‘t say enough! It‘s gonna kill me to wait on book 4! It‘s not out til July 😭 Such a great adventure that take you to places you know but are changed and challenges and action around every corner! This is definitely a must read series!

I continue to enjoy the world building in this series, this time through the Burner community of Philadelphia. Character development seems to have slacked off a bit in this book, but the plot remains compelling and I'm looking forward to the next book.

I really love this series. Each book is better than the last. I even like all of the characters. I'm excited for the next book!

I honestly thought the series would begin to slow down and become a little stagnant, I couldn't fathom out how the pages would keep a hold of the reader, but they do and it is because of the wonderful writing that Rachel Caine gives us that this can happen!

✨I also finished the third book from the Great Library series. I thought maybe after the second a third one would be redundant, but Caine finds a way to keep it exciting and page turning. I also thought this was the final book, but it looks like there will at least be a fourth! 📚
