All righty #TeamWhoYaGonnaCall, we have our first #Scarathlon game of the...well, games...ready to go! As you're working through your TBR, keep an eye out for these words. Each word will net you 10 points, no matter how many times they show up. (Psst, eReader users: don't forget to use the search function.)

@AsYouWish @ChaoticMissAdventures @MartinaLove @bthegood @Lizpixie @MsRadioSilence @Fortifiedbybooks @SomedayAlmost @Airykah13

StayCurious This is a month long game and great points getter! 1y
SomedayAlmost Also makes one notice word choice. 1y
Melismatic 10 points overall if you see that word at least once? Or 10 points each time you see each word? 👀 1y
FlynnDewey @Melismatic 10 points each time you see each word!! Rack 'em up! 1y
Melismatic @FlynnDewey whoa! Alright! Thanks! 💪🏻 1y

@RestlessFickleBookHoarder I hope I‘m not to late to enter your #giveawaykerfuffle
Cockamamie makes me laugh whenever it comes up! Can you imagine a teacher using this in a room of middle schoolers? Congrats on passing 90K!

Sace Thanks. I think I might fave used it in front of high school students.....once (and never again 🤣) 5y
tournevis Cockamamie is a transliteration of décalcomanie, same root as decal‽ Wow. That's amazing. Thank you for this. I love etymology! 5y
Chrissyreadit @tournevis I love that you love it! 🙌👏🙌🥰 5y
Clare-Dragonfly The podcast Lexicon Valley did an episode (several years ago) on cockamamie and it‘s origins! @tournevis 5y

knittedgnome I am a terrible mispronouncer! And on my super strong Midwest accent and forget it!! 6y
MelissaSue81 My 9 year old who has always been a precocious reader does this constantly. I feel bad correcting her (edited) 6y
BkClubCare Aw! I love the twitter threads of admissions regarding this “qwerk”: I have lots of these words that sound different in my head than what is “right”! LOL 6y

Ruthiella I said “self-depreciating” instead of “self-deprecating” FOR YEARS until someone finally corrected me! 😂😂😂 6y
Alfoster 😂😂😂My daughter corrected all her friends saying that disheveled was pronounced “dis-heaveled.” She was so bummed when she texted me to ck and found she was wrong. We still laugh about it! 6y
LitsyWelcomeWagon Welcome to Litsy! 6y
Weaponxgirl I do this all the time! My conversations sound so much more intelligent in text than I do in person. Then there's the words that you know how they should sound but they will not come out of your mouth correctly 6y
Reggie Seamus from Harry Potter. I thought it was C-mus but it‘s more like Shaymus. Felt like an idiot when the movie came out. Lol 6y

Linsy 🤣 7y
Linsy I‘d never heard it before, but this word made me laugh out loud!! 7y
monkeygirlsmama @Linsy I read it last month in a book and had to look it up. Loved it so much I took a screen shot so I wouldn‘t forget. Unfortunately I haven‘t yet managed to work it into a conversation. Must remedy that stat! LoL Hmmm... I was running about all huggermugger looking for my daughter‘s bag this afternoon. 😂 Yeah, I think I used that right. 😝 7y
Linsy Sounds perfect!! 🤣 I‘m generally all huggermugger. 7y
monkeygirlsmama @Linsy 🤣 me too 7y

And his majesty drove off, very much delighted with his last quodlibet upon the duke, whom he really hated.

#litsyyearbook This kid in 6th grade '91 still carried around some bitterness from not making it into the money round of the citywide spelling bee the year before by missing one word all health classes would from here on out bring up. ADOLESCENCE. The girl before me, she missed MILEAGE. WTF!!! ( apparently, maybe, he still hasn't gotten over it. Lol). Thank goodness 80's oversized glass frames don't stay the trend.

saresmoore Ahaha! I love this story! 7y
Suet624 💕💕💕 7y
CindyMyLifeIsLit I actually think those big frames may be coming back! Nowhere is it more true that "history repeats itself " than in fashion. Unfortunately, we also seem never to learn from our mistakes! 7y

Mimi28 I came in 4th place in my district spelling bee. I felt so stupid for being so close to earning a regional ribbon. It still gives me the feels. I know how you feel. I was in the 8th grade in 1990. 7y

saguarosally Same year (6th grade, 1991) and I missed PHYLLOMANCY. I've never needed to use that word since. 7y
