Had to use this one for #AutumnPlease prompt for #CandleFlame. This follows a young teen who lives in a small desert town where everyone gets one wish, and that wish always comes true. What would you wish for?
This is one of those cheesy, predictable, maudlin teen books full of unlikable characters...but somehow I still loved reading it.

“It‘s nice to know someone thinks of you as a person, not an opportunity.”
I really enjoyed this and I didn't think I was going to, I guess that's what I get for looking at the reviews first. This was a really quick easy read, but I really liked it. I though the pacing was excellent, it moved just fast enough to keep me reading but slow enough not to feel unbelievable. I think the pacing is honestly what makes this book so great.Overall this was a really great read and I loved the characters, setting and plot.
In Madison, Nevada, everyone gets one wish on their 18th birthday and that wish always comes true.
The whole concept of this book had me intrigued and hooked from line one. The story follows Eldon and the days leading up to his wish day. He sees how much all the adults in the town regret their wishes and doesn‘t understand what‘s good about wishes.
I really enjoyed this book and finished it in one day!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It was ok. I figured out the ending halfway through. The concept was interesting but i just thought this was pretty dull. It felt overly long and I didn‘t feel too much for the mc.
Reading this in honor of my 30th birthday this month. Saw a book related to birthdays and thought “why not?” 🕯 🎁
I couldnt tell you how many times i put this book down and started it up again. I tried to like it i really did i made it to page 164 when i finally gave up. I just didnt like the characters at all nor did i care about what he was going to wish for. I just did not look forward to reading the next chapter. It fell flat.
#24in48 swiss army book rec (the one you'd give to absolutely anyone): Three generations of my family loved this one! As YA, the language itself is easy to read, but the premise of "be careful what you wish for, you just might get it" is thought-provoking enough to draw in those who may not typically read YA. @24in48
There are lots of polarized reviews, especially about the ending. I liked it, Sedoti's voice is so compelling!
The citizens of Madison, Nevada get one wish on their 18th birthdays - and they all seem to regret it. Eldon struggles with what - and whether - he'll wish, and he learns more than he'd like along the way.
Pick if you like:
-contemp with a hint of magic
-addictive voice
-unlikable protagonists

I actually enjoyed this unique book but I can definitely understand the criticism it has received. The ending definitely is a controversial one but I liked it.
I‘m flying to Dublin and am looking forward to digging into this one on my flight!
As much as I wanted to love this book, I didn't. The concept was fun, a town with a wish-granting cave, kept secret from the rest of the world. Everyone gets one wish on their 18th birthday. What do you wish for?(Rules)
Sedoti shows how having this wish affects the psyche before & after it is granted.
I didn't buy the story's end. The repercussions for Eldon's decision were far to under-played. This could have been a great story with more depth.
I liked the concept but personally I found Eldon to be a bit of an irksome narrator. Lots of eye rolling on my part throughout 🙈
If you could have one wish come true, what would it be?
.
As You Wish by Chelsea Sedoti is out now! Eldon is guaranteed to have one wish come true, but with chaos surrounding him, how is he supposed to choose?
I received an ARC of this book in a #BookishFirst giveaway. I almost didn‘t enter because I don‘t read a lot of YA. But this book is amazing. Imagine this: In a small Nevada desert town, every young man/woman (upon reaching their 18th birthday) is entitled to one wish in a mysterious wishing cave. There are rules & no do-overs. A gut-wrenching look at navigating the road to adulthood and what it means to be “gifted” with a wish. 4.5/5⭐️ Recommend.
This book, this book...
I don‘t want to give too much away, but it‘s going to break my heart....I think it already has. 💔💔💔😔😢
Up next, an ARC I received from BookishFirst. It released today, so yes, I am behind with this one. It‘s a YA, which I don‘t normally choose, but the premise of the book is intriguing so I‘m looking forward to diving in! This is not the cover from Amazon, but I‘m liking mine better. 😊❤️
Just one wish. What do you do with one wish that has the potential of changing your whole life, and maybe others‘ around you, and you make that wish when you turn 18? In a small town in the middle of Nevada a teen called Eldon grapples with what to do with that wish, and issues of family and friendship, love and loss, life and death, as he counts down the days to his bday. This is a thought-provoking one! Full review:

I won the very first giveaway from BookishFirst! I love when I receive #bookmail! Thank you to #NetGalley and #SourceBooks! 📚😍
OK, this is the kind of #bookmail to come home to from work...the FREE kind! 🎉😊 I won the tagged book in the very first giveaway from BookishFirst, and the letter accompanying this ARC said they threw in the other ARC just because. I‘LL TAKE IT....just because.🤣🤣🤣😊🙌🙌❤️❤️ Thank you #NetGalley and #SourceBooks!!!
Everyone gets a wish granted on their 18th bday in this small town w/a big secret - Eldon‘s is near & he hasn‘t decided what to ask for, though mom is desperate for him to wish how she wants. The isolated environment is a pressure cooker for his temper; he‘s understandably angry & not always pleasant. Insightful side chapters explore other people‘s wishes, making readers consider what they would wish for, or if it‘s worth the risk to wish at all.
What if you could ask for anything- and get it?
Eldon has seen how wishes have broken the people around him. And with the lives of his family and friends in chaos, he‘s left with more questions than answers. Can he make their lives better? How can he be happy if the people around him aren‘t? Doubts build, leading Eldon to a more outlandish and scary thought: maybe you can‘t wish for happiness…maybe, just maybe, you have to make it for yourself.
It's the last day of #GypsyKatsBirthdayWeek so I I say one final time HaPpY bIrThDaY! 🎉🎊🎁🎂🎈
I hope all your wishes come true 💫- just be careful what you wish for (see above 😉😂).

In one word FANTASTIC!!! I thought the concept was brilliant, I was right there with Eldon wondering what would I wish for? and some of the consequences of other people's wishes were great!! I would 110% recommend this book and I wish you would all go read this NOW!!! (Haha see what I did there!!!)
#TBRtemptation post 7! #BEA17 edition! Scheduled for release January 2nd, 2018. This #YA fantasy follows Eldon, who lives in Madison, in the middle of the Mojave Desert. Everyone who lives there gets 1 wish. He's watched people's lives fall apart because of their wishes. What should his wish be? How do you even wish for happiness? Especially when those around you are all unhappy? #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
As You Wish by Chelsea Sedoti was a great book! I couldnt put it down from the beginning. Chelsea starts off in Chapter one making you question whats going on, which really made me want to keep reading to figure it out. As You Wish will tug at your heart. Chelsea did a great job of showing how to handle loss, and great friendships, how one decision can have an effect on the rest of your life, and the struggle of learning about yourself.
