This is the first time I've read this biography and I truly enjoyed how it was written and how it distinguished her part of the writing process. Very informative. #bookspin #nonfiction @thearomaofbooks

#MayMontage Day 5: Possibly #22ndOnYourTBR - husband and I watched the final (available) season of The Crown and naturally I had to hunt this book down while we were in the UK two weeks back. It wasn‘t easy finding a copy, actually. More on my book hunting expedition post on Sunday.
This book was originally published in 1992. It was updated and re-published 25 years later. The closest we will ever get to a true autobiography of Diana as she secretly collaborated on it‘s creation. Diana wanted to maintain complete anonymity with the book as she knew how much conflict would arise with the Royal Family. Andrew Morton revealed her cooperation with the book following her tragic death in 1997.

Let's see if I can get January's reads and challenges updated finally
I found this pretty good but not great. I have mixed feelings about the entire Diana drama in the first place and this book was definitely meant to be one-sided. It's just as I expected it to be 🤷♀️

I watched a special the other night on Princess Diana and realized I never read her story. I found it quite interesting but sad. To see where she came from, what she faced in the Royal family, how she overcame all that, and ending up the Princess of the World.
I have been wanting to read this forever. I watched a special on her the other night and picked it up from my local library to finally read.
I have been watching the wonderful CNN series “Diana” and decided I wanted to revisit the book by Andrew Morton that shook the monarchy. Found a beautiful used copy in great condition. She is forever my princess.
R.I.P Princess Diana, your memory will live on forever.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
I can only imagine the reaction to this when it was first published. Almost 30 years later though, its contents have largely been covered elsewhere. This edition contained transcriptions of Diana‘s tape which was the best part in my opinion. Very interesting to read Diana‘s actual words.
An interesting book but a little repetitive and rambling. Morton does a good job of describing Diana‘s side of the story. However, I‘d like to read an objective account taking in both sides of the marriage and divorce of Charles and Diana. At times I found myself frustrated with her privileged attitude about her own suffering, but I cried at Britain‘s reaction to her death. She has definitely had an emotional impact worldwide—whether good or bad.

I remember the night, where I was, what I was doing, and the heartbreak I felt... such a loss 💔💔
I always find public figures to appear larger than life but they are just normal people who have struggles like the rest of us.
November Book 14/25 #nfn2020 #LitsyLove
Listening to interviews is a fascinating thing for me. To hear the emotions, state of mind, struggles, joys through first hand accounts is incredible. #nfn2020 is proving to be very interesting. #documentary
I read Diana's biography5 years ago (slovenian edition) and now I listened an audiobook. She was an amazing woman. A strong, powerful and beautiful on the outside, but deep inside her she suffer. She is one of the most powerful and iconic women from history. I liked this audiobook even if I already know the story.

When I think crown I think of the beautiful Princess Diana 👑 👸 ❤️
I remember where I was and what I was doing when she died... 💔💔💔
No #crownonthecover but a perfect example

Even though I lived through this story from start to finish, this book provided details behind the headlines and the pictures. Now I know how much loneliness the divorce caused her, the caustic nature of the royal family and Charles‘ deep love for Camilla. All I can say is you must do you: marry your true love - skip the virgin requirement and dump the jerk in the crown.
Such an interesting and revelatory read. I‘d heard about this years ago when it was published but never thought to read it until now. Such a sad life for someone who looked like she had everything.
On another note, no reading pics today as I‘m flying home from Mexico, boo! Here‘s a pic that I really like of some of my tattoos. ☀️ 🇲🇽 🏖 🏝 ✈️ ☹️
My mom had this book since the ‘90 and I‘m finally reading it.
Prince Charles wasn't an #easylover to Diana, since he was most of the time in love with another woman and Diana was chosen just because she was a virgin. #anglophileapril @Cinfhen @emilyhaldi @Mdargusch @Reviewsbylola
When I hear #Royalty I immediately think of Princess Diana ❤️👑👸 Such a tragic loss... 💔

#MusicalNewYear #WhoLivesWhoDiesWhoTellsYourStory see where I‘m going with this....These 3 books are high up on my WANT to read list. I‘m hoping to read a lot more NF this year & I wouldn‘t mind seeing another musical or two. (Or 3🎵)
This is one of those biographies where you hug the book because you can't hug the person. Diana was amazing inside and out and she would've been a great queen.
It's easy to tell why she's loved by so many people and after reading the love I have for her has grown
I've read a lot of books as well as magazines over the years. Majesty & Royalty during HRH Diana, Princess of Wales. Just a few months before her death, my entire collection was stolen by movers from a reputable moving company. Never recovered it nor received compensation. It was then a double shock when she died so suddenly on 31 August 1997. These days I try to grab every conspiracy books out there.
This biography, written with Diana's help through interviews she secretly recorded with the author, is stunning. Intriguing, beautiful, sad, inspiring, poignant. I'm learning so much about the royal family politics, personal turmoil, and media circus she lived under. #recommend #history
Ok, so I‘m “bending the rules” a bit with this one😉 The word “Princess” may not be in the title, but come on you can‘t get more Princess than Diana! 😊

A little time for morning reading!!
#SeptemBowie #day13 #UnderPressure I don't think they're was or will be again,a public figure under as much pressure as Diana,Princess Of Wales. Under fire from all fronts, the media,a neglectful husband who was in love with another woman,in-laws that put all the blame on her for their disintegrating marriage & the Royal PR machine who kept rolling her out like a prize goose even when she was clearly unwell. How she didn't breakdown I don't know.
https://novelsandnonfiction.com/2017/08/31/just-read-diana-her-true-story-in-her... Andrew Morton's Diana: Her True Story was updated for the anniversary and is primarily based on secret interviews with the Princess conducted 5 years before her death. I found it very personal and moving, as well as informative - if somewhat biased. Read my review on the blog!
Is there any other #richgirl who's had so much, but experienced such pain and difficulty, including her untimely death? I remember waking up at 4am to watch her wedding, and was just telling someone I watched hours and hours of news coverage when she died. #AugustGrrrl
I had some me time today, so, naturally, I spent it at the used bookstore. Came home with this eclectic stack. I never seem to walk out of there without a #bookhaul that fills my BOTM tote.
Watching Diana: In Her Own Words, which uses taped interviews made for this book. Whenever I start to feel sorry for Charles and his royal duty, I remember what a shit he was to his wife. It will serve him right if he is never king.
I've been wanting to read this for yearssss! During the 20th anniversary of Diana's death seems like the right time to start! ☕️ 📚 👑
#tinydancer #lyricalapril when I think about Princess Diana I always think of Candle In the Wind by Elton John. So that's why I chose this book for my photo taken at the Elton John concert where he sang Tiny Dancer and a whole lot more 😀
Diana is amazing and brave woman. 👍 #Diana #biography #truestory #royals #mademecry
Spent the day waiting for Will and Kate. I was not disappointed but my photo is not great. It was such a lot of fun 👑
I'm guilty of reading pretty much any book about Diana, Princess of Wales. This is one of them. Tomorrow her son and his family are coming to town. Sweet!!! I am beyond excited. I'm going downtown early to see if I can get a spot 🙏
