Happy Tuesday! Here are today's #Two4Tuesday questions. Everyone is welcome to play. I'll tag a few Littens to get us started. Have a great day!
1️⃣ I have my grandparents' wedding bands from 1913. I plan to pass them on to my granddaughter.
2️⃣ I think Shakespeare will continue to remain relevant for many years to come.

Good ol‘ Will came through as he always does. He delivered on my expectation that he and his lovely sonnets could alter my mood and influence my perspective of the day. I didn‘t necessarily require an uplift…more of a new vision. It can be a challenge to a pleasant disposition when warm, bright blue, sunny skies alter to cold, windy, grey overcast skies and snow begins to collect on the delicate stems of your newly planted spring flowers.👇🏽
It‘s 33°F outside. Not that that is shocking news, but three days ago it was 86°F. Yesterday, the weather created a laidback day of reading which felt hypnotic, because my days have been busy and hectic lately, and the feathery snowfall was easy with a slow tempo.
I read a lot, but finished nothing. Hopefully, I‘ll be a more productive reader today. Maybe William Shakespeare and his sonnets can help me out with that goal.

#AugustAuthors - William Shakespeare: There are many fine recitations of Shakespeare‘s Sonnets available in the digital stratosphere these days. No doubt that Patrick Stewart is leading the way with some other cool readings by Benedict Cumberbatch, Ralph Fiennes and a moody somber reading by Alan Rickman (as to be expected!🥴). 👇🏽
🌟🌟🌟🌟 It's not David Tennant but Frank Muller does a lovely job reading some of Shakespeare's most beloved sonnets.
The marbled papers of the Folio Society‘s Letterpress edition of the Sonnets is amazing. One of my prized possessions.
“And yet by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare”
Bought this little book at the Chicago airport a long time ago while waiting for another flight. Made the wait a lot more enjoyable!
Shakespeare is the first recorded to use balladmonger.
Mr. Shakespeare it offends me greatly to be called such a word, dear sir!
Going to see Something Rotten today! I know it's a Shakespeare parody musical but don't know much else.
Not marble nor the gilded monuments
Of princes, shall outlive this powerful rhyme,
But you shall shine more bright in these contents
Than unswept stone, besmeared with sluttish time.
When wasteful war shall statues overturn
And broils roots out the work of masonry,
Nor mars his sword nor war's quick fire shall burn
The living record of your memory.
“My drops of tears, I‘ll turn to sparks of FIRE” 🔥
For Valentine's Day, I share one of my favorite love poems, Sonnet 29. Peace and love to all y'all, Littens! ❤️ #happyvalentinesday #poetry #love
Day 4 of #riotgrams: Somehow I only own 4 #purple books, though they are very, very well-loved.
Sonnet #eighteen is one of Shakespeare's most famous...but which is your favorite? #novemberbythenumbers #18
Sonnet 14 for day 14. Fourteen lines of poetry. #novemberbythenumbers #day14
Here's a great vintage copy of Shakespeare from 1966 for today's #Riotgrams prompt: #retrocoverfun. I'm assuming the artwork on the cover depicts the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet.
This is the best I have at my office at work - if I remember, I'll try to snap some of my faves on the bookshelf at home.
One of my favorite sonnets. I was going to post it yesterday, but I made a lot of posts as it was. My English degree's emphasis is in Middle English Literature, and I couldn't get enough #Shakespeare. If only I could write as he did *sighs*.
Two poems for 5th grade for #PoetryWednesday with bonus commentary from a student.
This is 4th grade's #PoetryWednesday poem.
I have definitely #changedmymindabout Shakespeare. I have much more appreciation for him and his plays than I did in high school. #feistyfeb @RealLifeReading #catsoflitsy
Day 19 of #augustphotochallenge is #poetry. I have many favorite poems, but no so many physical poetry books on my shelves. I have never managed to grow out of my affinity for Shakespeare.
At the end of every day, I get to chalk a relevant Shakespeare quote on the sidewalk outside our office and post it on our Twitter feed. The autumn weather in Wellington has been lovely, so this famous gem seemed an appropriate choice!
I like old books...I ain't gonna lie...and I love Shakespeare...
Paging through this one this evening in honor of #Shakespeare400
