Glad that #CloakandDaggerChristmas gave me a reason to get back to this series. It‘s been several years since I read the last one. Fun to be with Flavia again!
Prompt: Santa Baby - read a mystery where the detectives are children

Thanks, @Ruthiella for hosting/organizing! Looking forward to a mystery-packed December🕵️♀️ I won‘t get to all of these, of course, but nice to have options. I‘ve also got the graphic novel Bodies by Si Spencer on the way (looking forward to the Netflix adaptation) and tagged, The Drift, Night Will Find You and Poppy Redfern and the Midnight Murders in my audiobook queue so those are possibilities as well 🎧

4th in the Flavia de Luce series and the next up for me when I decide to continue on in the series.
This is the 4th book in the Flavia de Luce series. I read the first three when they were translated into Norwegian years ago.
In this book a film crew arrives at Buckshaw to film their next film. The vicar decides that this is the perfect occasion to raise funds for the church roof and have the movie stars participating. When the snow starts falling, it‘s decided to have this at Buckshaw. So when a body is found, there‘s a lot of suspects.
Flavia doesn't disappoint! It's Christmas time and Buckshaw has been invaded by a film crew as it's to be the setting of a big movie production. Flavia also has plans to catch Father Christmas in the act. And then, murder! I love Flavia's turns of phrase and her interactions with Dogger & Inspector Hewitt. Perfect for #cloakanddaggerchristmas and #192025 @Librarybelle
I do love a good Flavia de Luce murder mystery. She's young, but she's determined and she always gets to the culprit.

Thank you @Dragon for the heads up about this audio book. I‘ve loved Flavia de Luce but never thought to try the audio. Sophie Aldred was just perfect for the voice of Flavia and her sisters (IMO). Exactly what I needed - some light mystery, & a snowy Christmassy one at that! 🎅🤶🎄Like most light mystery series, a lot of the love is for the deepening understanding of the characters over time - I loved being back with them in Buckshaw House.

Egg bites and iced tea breakfast with Jayne Entwistle reading from this wintery mystery. The estate is rented out to a film company over the Christmas holidays. Naturally there‘s a murder and Flavia is in her element. A fun read especially with such an enthusiastic reader. Two thumbs up for this audiobook
Each of these has been better than the last. I was excited, when I finished the last one, to learn that this one was set at Christmas. It really felt like the Christmas special of a BBC show, like "Father Brown" or "All Creatures Great and Small." I love Christmas and I loved how Bradley used it as a backdrop without being too saccharine.
A lot of audio listening went on this week as I helped pack and move my boys to uni. This is the oldest‘s kitchen for the year. I washed dishes and sorted storage while he and his dad set up computer and tv #thamkgodforaudiobooks
Back with Libby and devouring the 4th Flavia mystery. I love this series
Ha! I got an email from Goodreads and saw thing and thought “wait a minute, i've read that!“
Nope, totally different book.
thanks for the follow @johncadams
I have been so busy with work I haven‘t had time for much else. But I did get around to finishing this. Another charming Flavia mystery. Although if I realized it was set during Christmas I would have read it in December! I do recommend this series for anyone who loves a cozy mystery.
4⭐️ A #reread for me. As usual, had a great time reading this book; listened to the #audiobook as I read the book. #2020 #bookstagram #bookreview #fiction #christmasfiction #historicalfiction #mystery #flaviadeluce #bookspin book for December

This is probably one of my favourite Flavia books. I love the Christmas setting and Flavia‘s quest to trap Father Christmas. Jane Entwistle does a beautiful job narrating, as usual, it was delightful to spend my time with her b
I appreciated that the plot in this book was alot more concise owing to the fact that Flavia was not traipsing around the village but was confined to her home when solving this crime. It helped the author focus on only a few characters and flesh out some relationships a little more.

OOPS!! My book stack was in the wrong order - this month‘s #flaviabuddyread is I am Half-Sick of Shadows. Coming up on Saturday!
Finally finished this one, feels like forever. I listened to the previous ones on Libby but my library didn‘t have this one! Now I‘ll move back to audio because I really enjoy them! Still this one was very fun and Flavia makes me laugh often!
Short walk today - it was really hot! ☀️☀️☀️

Thanks to everyone who sent good wishes for my surgery. Recovery is going well, and I‘ve been able to finish this book. It is my favorite Flavia mystery yet. There‘s a little less “perils of Pauline” feeling, but it opens up some new questions about Flavia‘s family. A good mystery, and a delightful cast of characters. Looking forward to the next in the series.
We are home from vacation. I have the laundry mostly caught up, restocked the refrigerator, and am getting things organized in prep for surgery and recovery next week. I have to do a webinar on plant identification this afternoon, but then I plan to sit down with the tagged book. What I really want to do is go back to the mountains and do some more hiking. Picture is on the trail at Brasstown Bald.
I‘ve been in a reading slump, but it didn‘t stop me from borrowing this from my son and daughter-in-law‘s library 😄
Treating myself to lunch after accompanying two students at a music festival this morning.
Fourth installment of a consistent light mystery series.

The tenth and final installment of the Flavia series comes out this month. I'm gonna miss her. In the meantime I still have plenty of Flavia books to catch up on like the title above.
Looking forward to another fun Flavia DeLuce mystery. I do love the narrator on the audio books but I'm going hardcover with this one. Watied until December to read it because it takes place then. 🎄📖
Fourth book in the delightful Flavia de Luce series which could not only be included in a collection of #redbooks but is also actually set during Christmas! 🎄 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

Who is in charge of stickers on books? 😤This one is difficult to remove and of course it‘s right over the title. Pray I don‘t ruin the cover. 😥😅 got this for $1.50 though! Hope you all had a great Sunday, and have an easy Monday! 🥰
Another fun mystery with Flavia. I really enjoy seeing the characters evolve. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I‘m looking forward to Miss Flavia‘s next adventure. She never fails to delight me.
Flavia de Luce is always delightful. Precocious 11 year old 1950's era sleuth who loves to dabble in poisons always seems to be in the wrong place at the right time,.
