Borrowed this one from my fave cousin and I‘m super excited to start it! I‘ve heard such great things about this author 😊
Abbi Waxman has become one of my favorite authors. She really nails dialogues - those between characters and, even funnier, the ones inside the characters minds.
Desperately wishing it was the weekend so that I could just stay curled up on the couch with my book 📖
Still really enjoying this one! Abbi Waxman is quickly becoming one of my favorites so I‘m going to have to do some backlog reading.
The #24in48 has gone...NOT WELL. As in, this is the first time I‘ve been able to read this weekend and it‘s 9:30 on Sunday morning. But that‘s okay. While I‘m not going to end the weekend with a 24-hour timer, I will have ended it having gone to a local Cherry Festival, spent some time on the lake, and bought a new bed frame.
This wasn‘t terrible! Overall, I liked the story, but I think the conclusion was a bit rushed.
It‘s such a light read! Not as funny as expected to be, but a super easy simple read. Definitely enjoyed it and can‘t wait to talk about it at book club!
Book - Other People's Houses
Movie - Sweet Home Alabama
Song - Home ( by Phillip Phillips)

This book was good, not amazing. I really related to Frances on a lot of levels (though she is a much better mom than I am). But the other characters were just meh. It reminded me of Big Little Lies, a bit.. lots of domestic drama.
Parts of these books are really really real! Socks and cat hair EVERYWHERE
I don‘t actually read one star books because I usually just stop reading them. So of the ones I actually finished, Other People‘s Houses was a 2 star read for me. I went in with high expectations because I love this kind of book. But I just found the whole thing really cringey and poorly written.
Of my DNFs, Meddling Kids by Edgar Cantero is the one I hated so much I could only get 50 pages in before tossing it.

You've probably read or at least heard of The Book Thief...but what about The Bookmark Thief?!? Well here she is in action! Hearty apparently wants me to lose my spot in my current read 😹
Couldn't have said it better myself...
Didn't love this book. Took me a while to push through it. So many characters to keep up. But this hit home for me...
Genius. Instant favorite. Reminds me a lot of Liane Moriarty! I couldn‘t tear myself away!
@LiteraryinLititz
Totally enjoyable! This book wasn‘t groundbreaking, but I like stories that are small in scope sometimes. This one focused exclusively on a small group of families in one suburban neighborhood. The parents and kids are all involved in each other‘s business. It‘s about the effects of one person‘s choice on everyone. It was humorous at times with a good amount of character development. I found the characters believable and fun to get to know. Pick!
Done and done, and thoroughly enjoyed it! ♥️
I liked this book! I loved all the interactions in the neighborhood! This book had me laughing, angry and sympathizing with the different characters. Over all a good read!
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5/5 stars. This book was fine, not amazing, but fine. When Frances sees one of her neighbors cheating on her husband it shakes the neighborhood. While the story was OK, I loved Frances and seriously want to be friends with her.
I know summer‘s almost over. But you need to get to a beach with this book in your hand soon. This is a great weekend read. You learn about the neighbors and the secrets they keep. Narrative and story are woven well. #lovetoread #alwaysreading
Sometimes life is just what it is, and the best you can hope for is ice cream 🍦
About halfway through and I'm enjoying this light, fun read!
#Mother
Lots of mothers in this one! The “fix it” mother, the “cheating” mother, the “absent” mother and the “two” mothers! I‘m hoping to finish this one today 📚 🏠 🙎♀️

Ok... I was trying to ignore this, but it‘s really bothering me! Is this correct?! Wouldn‘t smallest be the correct word here? Where are the English teachers?! 🤣 @CoffeeNBooks @Nuwanda
I'm just under 4 hours into my #24in48 and I'm really enjoying Other People's Houses by Abbi Waxman - what is everyone else enjoying this Saturday?
I laughed so hard while reading this paragraph. This is so me and my DH! 😂 He'll be telling me about something, all in depth, and I'll be trying to follow along when all of the sudden I realize... he's totally high and trying to be all philosophical.
I finished this in almost 1 sitting! Only because I had to leave work and couldn't continue until I got home. ? The main character's oldest daughter is 14 and a few of their moments were totally relatable. There were also some laugh out loud moments and the drama wasn't over the top, "that would never happen in real life" but drama that you could actually envision happening.
Trying to catch up on my BOTM books! I'm so far behind 😬
I would be #Delirious if I had to deal with this many kids in a carpool everyday 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️😳
Started this one last night! Really good so far!! @Eggs

Taking a break from translating to share my simple review of this book.
It's as "white people problem" as it gets which annoys me a bit. However, it's really funny when it wants to and an easy read with interesting insights into parenting and long term relationships.
? ?.5/5
And just because...a #shelfie
I picked this one up after seeing a few reviews on here and really ended up enjoying listening to it. I could hear myself in the main character, Francis, and some of the things she says about kids and parenting made me laugh out loud. I don't normally like the whole desperate housewives type drama but this tells more along the lines of normal people drama and things that be happening behind closed doors in any neighbourhood. #77of2018 #audio
This was a good listen. Loved the narrator, but more importantly I enjoyed the story. I definitely had some reactions to specific characters and their actions throughout the book, which, to me, is always a sign of a good book.
In my immediate future. 😊 (It‘s a German Chocolate cupcake from a local bakery.)
Took me a long time to get through this one. Certain parts made my chuckle, but overall I give it a so-so.
I can get neighbourhood gossip by talking to my neighbours, don‘t need an entire book about it😂
At first it seemed boring and too many characters but as soon as it jumped off it stayed good. My only issue was two things: 1. Constantly calling one character fat the entire book! She was a whole 30 lbs overweight 🙄. 2. Having a horrible brat of a teenager run her mouth with no repercussions the whole time 🤬. I recommend skimming the Frances parts. Still it was a lot of fun like desperate housewives kinda, without the murder and nonsense.
Seriously, is there anything better than beach reading?? 🏖 📚 ❤️
I have been so busy with end of the school year craziness that I have had almost no time for my beloved books 😢. So, my husband just offered to take my boys to the new Incredibles movie. I told them I was staying home. I now have a comfy chair, a cup of tea, my book and two whole hours. I have a ton of stuff to get done....but it can all wait!
Friday niiiiiggghhtt! Whooo!!! I now how to party: read while the Chinese food is on its way and then a movie with my son. But what book should I read? Help! I started the tagged book but I‘m not sure i feel it right now. (Also: this beer is insanely delicious. So peachy and not ultra sour.)
Quick, easy read. Very Desperate Housewives to me but good summer read. #litsybuddyread
I will be mailing this to the person who requests it. I have a number I‘m thinking of and that poster will get this sent out sometime this week, with some extras. If you want it.... post. And Go! ( I think you can post multiple times )
🌟🌟🌟🌟 what a delightful book! It won‘t win the Man Booker, however, it was entertaining as hell. I‘m afraid I‘m a little more Frances than I care to admit. #13inThree
I liked this book so much. It felt like a Lianne Moriarity book, with less angst. Good summer read.
“I don‘t think she let herself go. I think she just lets herself be”. Perfect. I‘m liking this quote. #13inThree
