Really good mystery with lots of twists
I thought I had this one, but Christie surprised me as always! This one is shorter than some of the other Poirot novels, but no less engrossing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really like to read Poirot Books. He is my favourite Agatha Christie detective. This one had me right to the end. I also love the banter between Hastings and Poirot so very much. I didn‘t guess the killer in this one at all. I did figure out one of the mysteries but not the important one. This one is a good light, short read. As always I recommend, but it‘s unlikely I wouldn‘t when it‘s Hercule Poirot.
I love Agatha Christie! It is always a good choise, always entertaining with a twist I never see.
An excellent mystery. I love the classic Poirot stories with a hotel or old house setting and range of suspects. Again it‘s brilliantly plotted with a interesting solution. I love the lightness of the prose and sense of humour. She does not try to overcomplicate it, Poirot is such a great character & the fun is in watching him solve the mystery. A satisfying read.
I enjoyed this one more than the last few, it was more fun, and the ending was unpredictable, at least to me. I also enjoyed some of the side characters more than in past books.
Ooh! I like this one! Satisfyingly twisty and only a little vertiginous. Between the audio during my morning workout and cutting out mask fabric and then the ebook during lunch and while waiting for my son to finish his grammar, I finished this in less than one day.
Narrated by Captain Hastings, Peril at End House is a Poirot mystery set in the fictional town of St Loo located in the south of England. The town is said be based on Torquay in the South Devon region of the UK.
Nick Buckley is the owner of End House, and has faced some life threatening attempts. She refuses to take them seriously until Poirot makes her realise otherwise, and steps in to investigate. Nick‘s friends, family, & acquaintances 👇🏽
Poirot has retired and is spending some time in a seaside town in Southern England. One day he starts talking to Freddie and she tells him about several accidents that has happened the last week. When she leaves, he finds her hat with a bullet hole in it. Poirot decides to investigate.
I didn‘t not see the twist at the end, so once again Madam Christie had me fooled.

Another great mystery solved by Poirot 🕵🏼♂️
I enjoyed this one a lot because it kept me guessing. I didn't see the twist coming at the end!
Poirot and Hastings are on vacation when they meet a woman who has had many recent brushes with death that can't be coincidence. Poirot must protect her and find the culprit before a murder occurs!
Poirot from Hastings' perspective never ceases to entertain me. They make a great pair.
5. Is this the greatest book cover you've ever seen?
#agathachristieclubR2
4. Peril at End House is considered one of Christie's best books. Would you agree? What makes this one stand out? How would you rank the books we've read so far?
#agathachristieclubR2
3. What motivates Poirot? #agathachristieclubR2
2. Do you think Nick is a different kind of criminal then we've previously seen in Christie? Is she a psychopath?

More #agathachristieclubR2 catch-up!
As always, please tag sent previous commentators and please remember to look at all the posts (I'll only tag individually in this first post).
1. Did you enjoy this book? Why or why not?
What I‘m listening to today! :) Narrated by Hugh Fraser.
Another fun mistery. Poirot and Hastings are back. I really liked Nick, the intended victim, and the resolution. The secondary characters were less fun than in otyer books, though.
Okay, so that was a thrill!! Did not expect to love that ending so much. ♥️♥️♥️ #agathachristieclubr2
Woke up with neck pain 😒 but at least I have my Poirot to help me through. I‘m set up with hot water bottle, kindle and tea on the couch and am hoping to not move for a good long time. 🤞📚☕️

Snow!!! I love cozying up when it‘s cold outside. ☕️
Goal for this week: Catch up on my #AgathaChristieClubR2 reading with Peril at End House & Lord Edgware Dies.
If I‘m not reading Poirot, I‘m watching it. Peril At End House is one of my favorites. 🙂
This felt so familiar to me but I‘ve been keeping track of every book I‘ve read since I was 16 and it‘s nowhere to be found... As always, the way this was resolved was completely genius and didn‘t make itself clear to me until nearly the end. I know I should take my time and read Christie closer so that I can see all the hints she‘s leaving but I just can‘t help myself!
#agathachristieclubr2
This was a reread for me, but as usual I couldn't remember how it ended, so I was completely sucked in. 😂 I genuinely enjoy Poirot and Hastings together and while this one wasn't particularly mind-blowing, it was a solid and enjoyable mystery with a believable twist.
Progress is being made on the bingo board, but no bingo yet!!
#WeeklyForecast - can't believe there is only a little over a week left for this month's buddy reads!! Started Peril at End House yesterday. Apparently the Nora Roberts books is popular as the library wants it back lol And maybe I'll get to a few of those "nonemergency" titles that have been in my weekly forecast photo all month?? Hoping to knock a few of them out before I indulge in an entire month of Christmas fluff for #WinterGames !
@Cinfhen
This week's #BookReport actually feels productive!! I took it easy on myself for #NovelNovember & focused on some MG & graphic novel reads to help me build up some momentum & it worked!! I'm caught up on my two buddy reads & also checked off six books (the ones checked here plus Entwined & Swamp Thing). I'm officially done with my orchard job & although I'm working on a special project at the greenhouse (thousands of cuttings!) it should be ⬇
Finished this on audio today. I was actually really surprised by the twist. I was doing chores around the house and exclaimed my surprise 😂
This was another good mystery and it‘s always enjoyable when Hasting‘s isn‘t too annoying.

Finished #audiobook
it's a typical pirot and sometimes it was a little bit boring. #catsoflitsy
As usual, the mystery aspect of this book was excellent. I actually guessed the twist correctly which I don‘t normally bother trying to do when reading AC.
Does anyone else here find Poirot just as insufferable, if not more so, than Hastings? He is so rude and arrogant sometimes. Oh well! 4⭐️

I have it on my shelf as a book. But I'm trying to downsize my tbr shelf #bookcrossing
Poirot and Hastings meet a young woman called Nick Buckley who appears to have had multiple attempts on her life, and set about solving the mystery. The end of this really took me completely by surprise, as per usual for Agatha Christie. 3.5⭐
Another Christie that I put on hold a few days ago thinking it would be a few weeks. I‘m trying to work my way through the Poirot novels. This one was different & had some interesting characters. The ending was a little complicated—no wonder Poirot had a hard time solving this one. It‘s always entertaining when Hastings is there to be the sidekick.
I love Agatha Christie. This was another great mystery, solved by M.Hercule Poirot and his little grey cells.
Day 4 - #peril quotsyapr19 #perilatendhouse #agathachristie
In the Agatha Christie classic Peril at End House, a young woman who has recently survived a series of very close calls appears to be the target of a dedicated killer—and it‘s up to Hercule Poirot to save her life.
Wow Christie never ceases to amaze!! There were sort of two layers of twists, which was absolutely fabulous. The ending....lovely and unexpected! It was also really nice because Poirot was especially methodical in keeping track of the suspects, making it really easy for a reader who might want to put the book down sometimes to stay on top of all the characters :) really enjoyable!! One of my favorites of hers!
Still behind on my Christies but making progress.
#AgathaChristie #poirot
A bumpy start, but I think that everything that really annoyed me in the first half makes sense after the ending.
Found out some of the plot, but not the murderer.
It was really good and the second half was fast and after the solution you see that there were clues everywhere!
I think this is one of my favorite Poirot mysteries. It stumped Poirot for awhile there, but in the end he always pulls it off.
I'd fallen off the #agathachristieclub wagon so thanks to @ferskner for the reminder! This is last month's book—I think—but I wanted to catch up because I read this ages ago. Despite a semi-large cast of characters, this was centred on the interactions between Poirot & Hastings. As I got closer to the end I realised I had completely forgotten "whodunit" so that was fun. Following their trail of deduction was just what I needed while being sick ?
This is one of the few Christies that I haven't seen the movie or read the book, and I loved it! I was totally surprised by the ending, even though all the clues were there from the very beginning.

This was on the other side of the walkway. My ideal yard! #24b4Monday
View from my audiobook walk during #24b4monday. I saw a muscrat too, but I didn't know what it was until I looked it up later because I'm from the desert and don't have that knowledge base. :)
#42 for #MountTBR and my 123rd completed book for the year. I really dislike Hercule Poirot, though. He becomes more insufferable with each book and I find myself starting to pity Hastings. The story was okay, but what keeps me going is Hugh Fraser‘s narration. He is fantastic!
