#5joysfriday this week lasted forever, school is bonkers and TGIF 1. Wine delivery from Quebec, quirky and fun 2. Eurovision is LIFE, can‘t wait until tomorrow for finals 3. Weather has been so great I‘ve been reading in the ‘tub‘ not just swimming 🏊🏻‍♀️ after school we drove Beckett ( youngest son) to catch GO train in another town so he could go to Toronto to visit girlfriend & I could go to 4. Ikea for new lounger 5. Take out for dinner 🎉

#5joysfriday Friday is always a joy but I love how I pay attention through the week for what brings me joy so I can post them here 1. New nails always bring joy 2. Memes that make me feel seen 3 lunch with a friend who is thinking about moving back when she retires 🤞🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 4 tonight we see an adaptation of P & P and I‘m so excited 5. Yesterday was Happy Meal Day and I treated my sister and my son to some happiness and Diet Coke

1. So many restaurants in Naples! First up is Turtle Club, feet in the sand and view of the Gulf of Somewhere. That‘s hubby Norm and a turtle carved in a bench “Welcome to our paradise “
2. Banana bread French toast at Baleen‘s, also at the beach.
3. There‘s a fig jam and goat cheese burger nestled between the chips at Brooks Burgers.
4. Mango shrimp and crispy duck to die for.
5. Off to Charleston with the kiddos.

#5joysfriday 1. April lasted FOREVER and the weather sucked for the most part so a lot of books got read 2. Apparently the weather was perfect for magnolias! The tree has had its best year in ages 3. I was gifted a jewelry chest and I‘ve been sorting my beads into it ( composite jewelry like pandora, I‘ve got multiple brands and too much) 4. My sister bought me a custom coaster for my Diet Coke 5. Homemade pizza is the best

#5joysfriday why do short weeks sometimes feel longer? I‘ve worked 2 weeks straight in grade 1 and I‘m exhausted 🥱 random joys 1. I voted early 2. Puppy visit with Griz 3. The magnolia is having a MOMENT 4. My niece and I having matching manicures 5. My oldest left last night to work at a YMCA camp in Alberta for 6 weeks. An exciting and a bit nerve wracking new challenge for him. I‘m full of joy for him taking risks

Nothing major happened this week but it‘s still nice to practice gratitude, it‘s the simple things that matter anyway

1. My fur babies (my dog Luna too, but I didn‘t get any photos of her this week)
2. A brand new journal
3. Stickers for said journal
4. Going for walks
5. Missed quite a bit of CrossFit last week and early this week but was able to jump back in yesterday

#5joysfriday 1. LONG WEEKENDS 🎉 2. Mixed media collage art I did with the grade 1 class I‘m in for 2 weeks is absolutely the cutest ever 3. The magnolia season has started, buds are splitting 🌸🌸🌸 finally feels like spring might be here 4. Date night last night at a Japanese restaurant we can walk to and whisky highballs ❤️ 5 started a new book with some chips and wine 👌🏻

#5joysfriday I haven‘t taught all week so it‘s been a lovely quiet chill couple of days of doing whatever I feel like whenever I feel like it 1. I‘m obsessed with the Color Block Jam game 2. Finished the little flower arrangement Lego set 3. Started the telephone box Lego set 4. Book Outlet order came in ( cuz I need more books 😆) 5. Date night last night to a restaurant in the ‘hood we‘ve been going to try forever. Everything was amazing

#5joysfriday 1. I did a collage art project with 3 grade 1 classes and covered the artist-tree with birds on Monday 2. I got my nails done in pastels ( abstract Easter eggs) 3. My favourite clothing store shares my views on Spring weather 4. I went out on a Friday night 🤯 to see the funnest band ever and everyone I know was there 🤣 I danced for hours ( they play covers of hits from the 70‘s through to the 00‘s ) 5. The sun shone today ☀️

3) Buying loads of books from 4 bookstores in Houston
4) Eating at the astronauts‘ fave restaurant Frenchie‘s with son & husband
5) Going to the NASA Space Center and seeing the Saturn rocket again—an amazing sight to behold

Sadly I caught a stomach bug and have been really sick since last night. 😞

#5joysfriday it‘s been a glorious week of nothing much thanks to March Break. 1. I finished Mona and hung her in my bedroom ( a little gallery wall moment is happening) 2. John and I went out to dinner Wednesday to a new place in the ‘hood ( no pics) and breakfast on Thursday to an old place 3. I had a massage, got my haircut and my nails done and walked to a McDonald‘s for a fountain Diet Coke because I could 4. It was 11° C yesterday

#5joysfriday TGIF 1. I did art with 2 grade 1 classes this week and in one class we painted robins and I put them up on the Artis-tree today 2. A friend makes book memory ornaments filled with all the books you read in a year, mine arrived this week ❤️❤️ 3. Pancake day is always delicious 4. Canada is getting her sass on 5. This meme speaks to me but I‘m more of a 3 days of rest person at this point 🙏🏻 it‘s March Break this week

Here‘s to the simple joys in life!

1. Did plenty of creating this week (makes my soul happy).
2. With the Merlin ID app from Cornell, I was able to ID all of the bird sounds in our yard (I drew ones I saw, image on the far left).
3. My cats Sunny & Midnight gave me plenty of moments full of love/laughter, as usual 🥰
4. I had a me date at the bookstore.
5. Went on a few walks with my son & our dog, we had nice talks 🥰

#5joysfriday Pretty low key week where I tried not to get overwhelmed by assholes in politics 1. My son brought home lunch for me today 🍔🥤2. I ordered a lot of books from Book Outlet #booksaremylovelanguage #selfcare 3. I had lunch with my sister on her birthday at a new chicken place 4 & 5 I am completely hooked on the Empyrean Series, I finished the first 2 this week and I‘m trying to wait until March to read the 3rd 🤷🏻‍♀️

1. Last minute trip with son to Austin and San Antonio. So much fun even tho I fell down the steps of the Capitol and twisted my ankle.

3. Davy Crockett at The Alamo. There‘s a whole museum of Alamo artifacts donated by Phil Collins.

#5joysfridays it‘s been a week 🤣🤣 1. I found my favourite pretzel crackers at Costco again after a too long for me hiatus 2. We move our youngest home from Uni this weekend and I have rented a storage unit and gone through multiple bins here and resorted stuff and this pile is ready to load in the car to pack him up 3. I‘m loving the #littensloveromance read this month 4. My iced peppermint mocha cold brew is life 5. I baked 1/5 cookie recipes

#5joysfridays 1. The tree was up but I finally decorated it last weekend 2. We got a lot of snow ands it‘s already almost all gone 🤦🏻‍♀️ 3. I continue to get joy from the list of books I found that feel like a hug - The Wishing Game is from that list 4. I did more art with some grade 2s and 3s that was so much fun 5. Our Honda Pilot died after 18 yrs of service - we experienced a lot of joy with it, our kids grew up while we drove it
