It's always sad to finish up a series that you enjoy so much. With that considered, we were given a significantly larger volume to help counter it being only a trilogy of novels. I can't celebrate this series enough, and what a turn of events that transpires, keeping you in suspense right until the end. Neal has done a fantastoc job with this series, and I can only hope we get to see some more of the thunderhead in the future.

I went into this book with high expectations. I loved the first two books but this one was a little confusing and the pacing was a little slow. This book introduces you to a whole bunch of new characters. Which it does come together, but I felt really lost until about half way. I did enjoy how it ended and it made sense but wish it could have been as entertaining as the first two.
I have added my November month wrap up @ https://rrkreads.wordpress.com/2019/11/28/november-wrap-up/
Am already excited to begin my Dec TBR, who else is?
I LOVED EVERY INCH OF THIS BOOK. I was so immersed in the story, I just couldn‘t stop. I love how the story really puts certain ideas into perspective that you never would have thought about. It was a such an amazing end written for this trilogy and I‘m a little sad it‘s over now.
✨Even though there‘s a lot of information throw at you in the first 200 or so pages, it‘s all definitely worth it at the end. As sad as I am to see the end of this trilogy (as far as I know it‘s the end), I think it was wrapped up very nicely- a bow, ribbon, and all.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This is the most ambitious by far of the three books in this trilogy, and I think the best one. So many different threads from the previous books come together, along with the new ones created in this book. So much thought-provoking content for students to discuss! Loved it... and YA is a harder sell for me, so I don‘t say that lightly.
I got the book Holly! I'm really looking forward to reading book 2 & then the final volume. Thanks for the bookmark & card!
@Hooked_on_books
I finally reached the end of this fantastic series!!! Was this my favourite of the three? No. But it was still a great read. A bit of a slower buildup, but laid out brilliantly. 4.5 out of 5.
I am so sad this series is over! I don‘t have much else to say besides I loved every minute of this book and the whole series and I recommend it to everyone.
Now I shall expediently return this to library for the next person and then drown my book hangover sorrows with cat snuggles.
I truly loved this trilogy. The concept was well considered and the world was built well. I liked that Mile High Stadium was a setting in this book since I‘m from the Denver area 😂
And, with the third and final book, the Arc of a Scythe series is done. I can‘t describe how much I‘ve loved these books, and how sad I am that this was the last one! I will miss this world. 🙁♥️
I‘m disappointed with this, I loved the first 2 but this one was just ok. The narration (especially the beginning) was all over the place with several narrators and jumping around the timeline. It also lake the surprise factor found in the first 2 and had a lot of info dump. But by they end I was still interested in what was going on so that‘s something.
✨I‘ve been trying to take my time with reading this, but all of a sudden I‘m 145 pages in and I can‘t stop. 😍🙌🏻
I am once again attending a work conference in Oklahoma (where I actually excel at introverting), so it was the perfect time for this hold to come through!
I am so excited for this!!
Book 3 was a chunkster but he pulled it off with a great ending.
I am so excited to be jumping back into this world and see how it all comes to a close. I‘m 3 chapters in and I am sucked in just like with book 1 and 2, I just don‘t want to stop!!
I got #bookmail! I am so excited to finally read the conclusion of this story. 💜📚💜
A worthy end to a terrific trilogy. I just loved it. If you like the idea of a future earth in which people are immortal and population control is achieved by scythes who “glean” people, start with Scythe and read the whole trilogy. I highly recommend the Barnes and Noble version of this book—it has notes from the author on every chapter in the back which I found quite illuminating.
I feel like I can't adequately review this book without spoiling it, but I'll say this: a simple "pick" on Litsy doesn't do it justice. This whole trilogy has been mind-blowing and through provoking in a way that was never expected. I really hope that this isn't the end of the Arc of a Scythe series. My mind is blown.
✨The few reviews I‘ve seen so far don‘t look so good, but I‘m sooo excited to finally start this one. 😍
Well, I‘m planning to tighten my budget, so this will probably be my last book haul for a while. So I made it a good one! The Lindy West is a signed first edition. 😍 And I‘m going to jump into The Toll pretty much immediately. I can‘t wait!
Rating: 1/5 :(
It is with a very heavy heart that I have DNFed The Toll. I loved that this book was coming out and was sooo excited. However, with the 100 pages I read, I felt like it was a lot of info dumping and boring. I was struggling with wanting to read it, so with such debate I dnfed it.

Good morning, littens! 😁 I'm still on The Toll and hoping to finish it today.
I got these granola bars from TJs and they are like little sugar bombs. 😷 So, I'm going to wake up and drink some coffee for a bit before I go make a real breakfast. 🍳
How's everyone else's morning going?
1. Tagged, Endurance, and LotR.
2. "A library of thought, if you will, roaring into consciousness after the arrival of the Toll on Earth, much like thunder follows lightning." -Neal Shusterman
3. Coffee, I stayed up too late last night. ?

Had to take my car into the dealership this morning because apparently there are recalls on my brakes and airbags. Those are kind of important, right? 🤔😂
Since I got home from dropping it off, I've been doing chores and homework. This is the first chance I've had to read, so I know already I won't make it to 24 hours for the readathon. BUT something is better than nothing! I'm going to pick up The Toll and snack on some cranberry chevre. 😋
LOOKIE WHAT I GOT TODAY 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
I‘m reading the toll and am 12% in and a bit bored. On other news I switched from being AllThingsKayla to this new handle because of someone in my life looking me up on social media...
What is everyone currently reading? #botm #bookstagram #reading #tbr #littens #litsy #kindle #currentread #bibliophile
Whew! The last couple days were a whirlwind. I'm going to try to go through all of your tags soon, but how fun to see SO many people participating for #MrBook1InAMillion ! 🎉❤ I just wanted to share my snack haul for #LitsyPartyofOne (or two because @Lucas.Rencher is here 😁).
Keep tagging me! I love seeing all your snacks and books. 😁📚❤
It‘s time for another round of “Let‘s Learn About Upcoming Books”: This is a book mail stack! Er, stacks. These are some of the amazing books I have received in the mail the past week that I may read for coverage consideration. Thank you to the publishers for sending them along. What are you excited to read? 📚❤️📚
Another great series comes to an end. How fun would it be to get inside Neal Shusterman‘s head for a day just to see how warped it really can get in there. This series is 100% worth it from start to finish. Each character is uniquely flawed for good or bad. I had to have yelled out loud, “I hate Goddard” at least 5 times, and thought it at least 20 times. A great ending to a fantastic series.
Yiaahh!!! Got my copy... Excited to read... Am 10% in & there's nothing much on the Thunderhead or Tolliver as yet, but, am hoping to see more of them further in the book & have all of my questions answered in what I think is the last book in the trilogy? Loving it till now... Who else is reading this 1, you guys?
Omg you guys, is it Friday yet? I gave out 6 detentions today. SIX. I had freshman literally beat each other up in class, make phone calls, one kid spit his gum onto my desk, like what the actual f*ck?! Like they're usually rowdy, but I could feel the life draining out of me.
Anyway, I grabbed vodka and a bag of chocolate on the way home, busted out my homework, and now I'm going to try to immerse myself into another world for the night. 😬
Wow—Neal Shusterman knows how to tell a good story. The Toll brings the Arc of the Scythe trilogy to a thrilling conclusion. As in his other books, Shusterman‘s characters, as well as readers, are confronted by & must deal with big questions about AI, faith, utopia, responsibility, power, & so much more. If I have one complaint, it‘s that there are some characters I would have liked to see more of but that being said, I really liked this book.
#112 of my year. I can‘t wait to devour this book. This whole series has been so incredible. I need to know all the things so I‘m ignoring my kids & life and going in 🤓😆
It's the last BIG release day of the year so I celebrated...and bought books.
I have waited so long for this!
At times like this, my tiny local library system sometimes comes through more than the bigger libraries! If I tried to place the hold through the NYPL instead, the wait was currently over 6 months 😱
Happy release day to The Toll by Neal Shusterman & Call Down The Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater. I‘ve been waiting a long time! Can‘t wait!!
AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!
Coffee, donut and a bookstore gift card brought to me this morning by a great friend.
Olive Garden for lunch with my best friend & mom, shopping for my daughters 11th birthday, which is tomorrow.
It‘s been a good day.
Me: I am going to be *SO* productive today. Emails will be answered. Projects will be turned in. The house will get cleaned.
Neal Shusterman: lol, yeah you thought.
But seriously...SQUEEEEE The Toll is here!! 🎉🙌😁
😠 😠 ☠ ☠ 😠 😠another book that LITERALLY was released for wide consumption TODAY!!!! I love Shusterman, but how do we know this book wont be another Alligent and totally bomb?? But of course it's already up for a GR award!. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH 😠
I received this baby in the mail today! It‘s a signed copy from OwlCrate! Neal Shusterman won‘t be touring near me this time so I‘m very happy to have scored a signed copy!!
I do like this cover. I just wish it had been more purple and not so much green. As it is, it is so close to Thunderhead that it makes Scythe stand out like the red hooded step child.
Out Noember 5

Lots of big announcements today! I‘m going to try to make this event too! 🥂
Friends, I am about 80 pages in and can safely say this book is FABULOUS 🔪😱
