What a nice game of cat and mouse. Even though the alibi of the murderer was watertight it was clear from the beginning that he/she must have planned the murder. Poirot struggled hard to find out how it was done. A story full of confusion.

This one was very promising to start but kind of fell flat and felt formulaic as it progressed. Poirot's reactions and methods are feeling a little predictable lately.

This one had me guessing until the very end. An unexpected twist that even Poirot didn't see coming until late in the game 🕵🏻‍♂️

I thought this was only okay. Poirot is always one step behind, for a change, and I actually felt sorry for him. The anti-semitic stereotypes were jarring.

Finished this audio book — loved it! Classic Christie! Aldo watched some film versions for fun: 1985 movie w/Peter Ustinov. 1934 movie starting Austin Trevor. And an episode of Poirot w/David Suchet. :)

My current listen - loving it!!!

Read on the heels of Peril at End House, this felt very similar and dragged a bit. I feel Christie took a bit of a cop-out with character development by leaning a little too heavily on the stereotypes of actors, which is unfortunate because Peril at End House had much more believable characters. Overall, not a high point in my quest to read all of Christie's works.

At a restaurant one night, Jane Wilkinson aka Lady Edgware speaks out Poirot. She wants him to talk to her husband about agreeing to give her a divorce. Poirot reluctantly agrees and meets the Lord only to be told that the Lord has already agreed to this. The next day, Lord Edgware is found dead.

I remembered seeing the dramatization of this on TV and know how the murder was, but it was nice to follow all the clues.

This one was interesting and I did not guess the solution at all. One of the Hercule Poirot mysteries narrated by Hastings and apparently taking place in the later years of their association. I enjoyed it, despite Hastings vaccilating between hero worship and second guessing.🙄 Read as part of the #readchristie2021 challenge hosted by OfficialAgathaChristie on IG ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is one of my favourite Poirot books. Love the mistery, love the murderer and it's even quite fun to see Poirot follow the wrong lead for part of the story.

I really liked this one! I was definitely not in the loop to the whole ending thing, but I just listened to a podcast where they said it was totally obvious and kind of skewered this one. Did y‘all agree??

Also, did Poirot always harangue Hastings for his hair‘s part? Because I don‘t remember this, but he mentions it a lot in this one and Hastings says it‘s a thing he‘s always done.

A fun mystery with lots of characters. Lots of twists and turns like usual leading to a surprise ending. I‘ve never heard of this one before, but really enjoyed it! #LMPBC round10 #GroupN

Another Christie reread for me and I loved it! Was totally surprised again. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I‘m ok with that. It means I can keep enjoying her books over and over again! This one had lots of Poirot and Hastings. 💗

AKA Lord Edgware Dies, this Poirot/Hastings tale was one that I remembered how it ended, but now how we got there haha I quite enjoyed watching Christie set up her red herrings. As always, what you need to know is there, it's just not always obvious. While not my favorite of hers, this one is still worth a read.

Read my #LMPBC Round 10 book so fast this month! It was so good! As always I didn‘t figure out who the bad guy was. I don‘t want to say too much since I‘m the first to read this.

One cannot be interested in crime without being interested in psychology. It is not the mere act of killing, it is what lies behind it that appeals to the expert.

I last read this two years ago for a #maidensofmurder readalong on Instagram. Now I want to get back to the chronological order of the #agathachristieclub because I fell off the wagon for a bit! (Hope @Bambolina_81 is doing OK, btw.) I'm happy that I remembered whodunit this time ? Hastings was praised by Poirot for being bang average, lol & Poirot was as obnoxiously cryptic as ever—"the torn page, of course!", etc. Fun & snarky; a good read.

Another solid mystery made even better by Hugh Fraser‘s excellent narration. I still detest Poirot, but Hastings might be growing on me...like a fungus. 😂 This is not destined to be my favorite Christie, or even top 5, but it wasn‘t terrible and the solution was interesting. This is also #10 for MountTBR, so yay me!

And does anyone know if @Bambolina_81 is okay? I haven‘t seen our #AgathaChristieClub hostess in ages. 😢

A clever mystery that even had Poirot stumped until the very end. I think this is one of Poirot's best mysteries. Great book.

The dapper little Belgian is his own biggest fan, conceited to the point that his own author despised him, and blatantly admits to keeping Hastings around just so he can feel superior to his bumbling British personality.

For some reason I had a hard time paying attention to this as I drove home from my Thanksgiving trip, but I did find the mystery and solution really satisfying. I love how Christie manages to make each book a little different, even as they stick to a basic formula.

I normally read Poirot books much faster but I couldn‘t get into this one. I kind of guessed the ending and just couldn‘t get into it. Oh well, onto the next one. #agathachristie

I could partialy guess who was the murderer, but not for sure or why.

A good Poirot mystery and I don't remember any racism in this one, thank goodness! You could perhaps call it a bit anti-American, but as an American, I found it in good fun.

Found this for a cool $1 but when I tried to find it on a list of Agatha books (on the back of a diff book), it was MIA. Thanks to the interweb, I learned it's also called Lord Edgware Dies. Alrighty, then!

An actress, she asks for Poirots help in getting her husband to agree to a divorce. When her husband is murdered very soon after, she's the No1 suspect, especially when she's identified as being at the house that night. But when it's proved that she was at a dinner party at the time of death, it seems she's innocent after all.

Got my giant cup of Nescafe and my #maidensofmurder monthly read going and I absolutely do not want to move and take a shower and get dressed and go to a work appointment or participate in adult "productive" life in any way today.

Poirot and Hastings together again! A solid mystery with many possible paths to the solution. This reader, like Hastings, was befuddled to end. (For the most part)
