Wendy‘s life was upended years ago when she and her brothers went missing in the woods, and only she returned (with no memory of what occurred). I enjoyed this Peter Pan-inspired story. It didn‘t wow me, but I enjoyed the experience. Wendy‘s complicated relationship with Peter, and Peter‘s complicated relationship with stories were compelling enough to keep me reading. The ending feels both like a little much and very satisfying. #Retelling

A reimagined Peter Pan. Though it was really well written I felt the pacing was off. The middle part of the book dragged a bit, it didn't pick up until the last 100 pages.

a re-imagining of Peter Pan. honestly, I didn‘t start enjoying this book until the last hundred pages maybe? i like the premise, the new take on Peter Pan as a person, the magical realism of it buuut it just felt really slow for most of it with not much happening until it all blew up. but I still enjoy his writing and am a die hard fan of Cemetery Boys so I‘m not giving up on Aiden yet.

Aiden Thomas did it again! With amazing plot twists, characters and mystery, I loved this book just as much as Cemetery Boys! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was real, it had to be. It wasn‘t a dream, it was a memory.

She didn‘t know when or where, but her brother and Peter had been there.

Peter.

A delirious laugh bubbled in her throat.

Her Peter. Peter Pan. He was real. And she needed to find him.

I‘m not that keen on Peter Pan retellings, but this one‘s by Aiden Thomas so I HAD to read it! And I‘m so glad I did! This is a mostly fresh take on Peter Pan, but more importantly Wendy Darling, and the twist is virtually unforeseeable (great for mystery fans).

I‘m a little hesitant with books that are retellings or inspired by classic stories, as I find they often don‘t work for me. But I really enjoyed this one, inspired by Peter Pan. I loved Thomas‘s first book, and this is a worthy successor. I look forward to whatever he has for us in the future!

I was torn between a pick and so-so. I really enjoyed the premise of who Peter Pan really was, which I won't go into because of spoilers. But the rest of the story was a little too textbook ya.

Thomas does a fantastic job of recreating the childhood bond between Wendy and Peter, which ultimately develops into a cute romance. I also enjoyed how Thomas made the central storyline about missing children, and more specifically, Wendy‘s missing brothers. The mystery in addition to the fantasy aspects made the book hard to put down. While I felt like the ending was left a little too open-ended, the rest of the book was riveting.

I adored 'Cemetery Boys' and had high hopes for Thomas' sophomore novel. He didn't disappoint. While not as fast moving Never Woods was darkly atmospheric, emotionally devastating, and also charming? I'm not sure how Thomas managed it, but I'll be thinking about this one for a long time.

This is a new version of the Peter Pan story starting with Wendy returning from Neverland without John and Michael. I listened to the audiobook and it was excellent. Peter comes back for Wendy‘s help…again. This book kind of makes the fairytale make sense. I can‘t say more without spoiling. So much better than the last Peter Pan retelling I read! I liked the plot and the characters, but my Goodreads said that the genres included LGBTQ and Queer, and never saw any of those elements. Wendy doesn‘t remember what happened during the six months she was missing. All she knows is that she and her brothers went to play in the woods, and she was the only one who came out again. Now, six years later, children are going missing. ⬇️

Zoe-h ⬆️ When Wendy finds a boy who looks suspiciously like Peter Pan from the stories her mother told her, she starts remembering small things about what happened during those six months. Peter says his shadow has gone missing and is stealing his magic. I enjoyed the plot, but when it didn‘t deliver on LGBTQIA+ characters, I felt a bit ripped off. 3.5⭐️ 3y

Thank you #Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Unfortunately, this book doesn‘t have the same charm as Aiden Thomas‘ first novel, Cemetery Boys. The characters of Peter and Wendy felt one dimensional and the pacing of the story was very slow. I think younger readers or people very fond of Peter Pan retellings would enjoy this. Unfortunately, it just didn‘t work for me.

Thoroughly enjoyed this exploration of grief and guilt and trauma. A modern AU of Peter Pan (which I don't remember much from and that might have shaped my experience of this?) told from Wendy's point of view, where children start disappearing five years after she and her brothers disappeared too - and only Wendy returned. Not quite as good as Cemetery Boys, but thoroughly enjoyable in itself!

Had a late start to #20in4 but am still hopeful to beat my record of 7h53m.
