The first in the series (#SeriesLove2023) of Charlie Harris and his Maine coon cat, Diesel. Diesel was a delight, and I wish I could take my dog all the places that Diesel was allowed. The mystery was so-so. I‘m interested to see where this series goes though. One of the first cozy mysteries I‘ve read with a male protagonist.
Typical cosy mystery - Charlie, local librarian, gets involved in the investigation of the murder of a writer, Godfrey . Charlie's cat Diesel is a MC (as it is a series “cat in the stacks“) yet only adds a lot of pages of how the cat and people interact without moving the mystery or story forward. Overall this was a fine read (I did want to know who did it) in between some horror stories and more serious books.
Make a great day everyone 🙂
Current progress on #BookSpinBingo - like March, a good reading month, enjoying all I have read and am currently reading.
Off to San Diego to visit my sister - this was originally a Christmas trip but #ibookedsouthwest #nuffsaid
Make a great day everyone - 🌞
When his boarder is under suspicion of killing a bestselling but personally unpopular author, Charlie Harris decides to help with the investigation at the request of his cleaner, who is also the lead detective's mother.
This was fun and I enjoyed the Jimmy Stewart vibe I got from the main character, so I'm going to continue with the series despite what struck me as a couple of false notes.
A hurricane slammed through my kitchen this morning, and his name was Justin.

A reread for me & finished just in time for my library‘s discussion of it!
A bit different for a cozy mystery, as the amateur sleuth is male. I love Diesel the cat, who has an uncanny way of knowing who needs comfort. This is a fast read featuring librarians & books. Some of the comments characters make about other characters‘ appearance & behavior are not exactly polite, which is a tad bothersome, but I did like this one overall. #19822022 #2010
#curiouscovers #pets I‘m not always in the mood for a cat cozy, here are a few I have , still TBR.Weird & not sure if it‘s readable, Cat House is about a house cat who runs with the cat colonies vs.Coyotes.But with its double entendre title , I can‘t let it go!😻😂
I don't usually read mysteries because I find them boring, but this one was able to keep my attention. I wasn't able to guess the twist at the end which is so refreshing. Usually I have everything figured out by the middle of the book, but this one kept me guessing.
@catiewithac Thanks for everything! The cozy blanket, bookmarks, candles w holder, chocolate, socks and BOOKS! I love it all. I've never had scented socks before. 😊Thanks for hosting @ferskner @Avanders @Chrissyreadit #cozyswap
Libby is, predictably, dropping multiple books on me at once. I finally had to delay one of of them. Thankfully, a couple of them are cozy mysteries, like this one.
Charlie is an archivist for a small college. Diesel is his Maine Coon cat, and accompanies Charlie most places. When a former classmate turned bestselling author is murdered, Charlie finds himself digging up clues on the author‘s papers.
Ok, I can do this. 6 more books until I reach my goal. 😬 #100readin2018 #onlyat94 #dopicturebookscount?
My November tbr stack. Where did the year go y‘all?! #novembertbr2018
The mystery was good but the overall story was slow and I lost interest a few times. My need to know the end kept me going. #readwomen #cozymystery
Cats on cats!
I guess books make good pillows?
I was a little reluctant to read this since my last attempt at reading a new cozy mystery wasn't great but I am glad I did. I enjoyed this quite a bit though I did not LOVE it but the characters have potential and the actual conclusion did surprise me a little.
I liked the voice of the main character Charlie, his cat and the fact he is a retired librarian. I will definitely continue on with this series.
Finished! This was a perfect weekend cozy read. I thought I would share a few pics of my Maine coon cat, Oreo. These pics are 5-6 years old, as he passed away at age 16 in January 2015. He had a lifetime of medical issues, but in these pics he's healthy and looking good. 😻
Saturday night at my house 😺 #catsoflitsy
So it was 80 degrees yesterday, and today is cold, windy, and snow flurries 🤷🏼♀️. Picked up the first two in this cozy mystery series and am taking a page from @lemonlime799 in that I'm reading something light while I decide what I want to read next. This series features a Maine coon cat as the sidekick to a part time librarian. I had a Maine coon once named Oreo, and I also used to volunteer for a nationwide Maine coon breed rescue 😻.
What do I do when it's 80 degrees in February and a payday Friday? What any reasonable Litten would do: take the afternoon off and hit 3 bookstores 😊📚📚❤️ #bookhaul #nosuchthingastoomanybooks #sorrynotsorry

Really enjoyed this mystery. Male protagonist was a nice change of pace for a "cozy." The mystery was great. Looking forward to reading more from this series.
Pulled a stack of mysteries from my TBR and asked my son to pick one for me to read. He vetoed all of them because there wasn't a cat one in the pile. So he dug through the shelf until he found this one!
