Salad Days ~ Allie Cresswell
I thought this was a wonderful story, beautifully and atmospherically written. It‘s slightly gothic in style and perhaps a little surreal. It all sounds so idyllic on the surface but it‘s what is lurking underneath which propels this tale. There is a sense of mystery to the story which drew me in and I was always looking forward to reading on. A thoroughly enjoyable, evocative and compelling read.
Salad Days by Allie Cresswell
Prudence and Arthur take a nostalgic trip down memory lane to the sixties and seventies; turbulent, changeful years that contrasted with their idyllic childhood at ‘Salad Days,‘ the market garden run by Prue‘s extended family.
But was it idyllic? As Prue and Arthur retrace their youthful attempts to get to the facts, it‘s clear that truth and memory are not the same.
Omg this series is off to an amazing!! If you like slow burn reverse harem books, you will love this series! All of the characters in this book are seriously amazing and the guys are swoon worthy. My favorite part of this series is that Willow Hadley addressed all the problems and scrutiny that a relationship like this would have. I cant wait for the next book in the series!
Not my image but definitely worth it. I love the smell and sound of rain
One of my bookcases :) i am in love with books and owls :)
How do y‘all find out about all these read-a-thons?😭 I feel like I‘m missing out on everything 🥺 haha
These are my two latest buys from Google Play. Both were on sale for $1.99. I look forward to reading and reviewing them when I‘m done with The Dress Maker by Kate Alcott.
You have so many opportunities to do something great. Make it happen. You can do it!
1. I‘m working from home for at least two weeks. My kids‘ schools are closed & will be switching to e-learning as soon as they can. My husband will still be teaching, but his students will attend via video.
2) For now.
3) I‘ll wear my green socks if I can find them.
4) I just finished a book for work, and I‘m ready for a palette cleanser. I have a stack from Christmas, so I‘m good.
5) I have no idea. I don‘t really like many movies. #randosurvey
This is my review for another book I just finished listening to from Amazon Prime. You can borrow books on Amazon Prime and I love it. I‘ve checked out 10 books so I need to be reading them. Now, I have 9 books I‘m borrowing from Amazon Prime since I just returned this one. The good thing about this is that there are no late fees to worry about. You can keep the borrowed books as long as you want so you can finish them.
This was one of Audible‘s freebie choices for February. Overall, a cute story, but I think this would be better in a graphic novel or comic book format. (As a side note, the author primarily writes comic books, so it makes sense.) I wavered between pick & so-so. I‘d give it 3.5 stars.
The ensemble performance was well done (5 stars for the performance). This story just wasn‘t quite as cute a story as last month‘s Interview with the Robot.

This is my review for a book I just read by Jennifer Joyce called “A Beginner‘s Guide To Christmas”. I just realized that I‘m experiencing a #readingslump since finishing the #asongoficeandfire series. I‘m going to take a break from reading and do something else for awhile. I‘m not in the mood to read like I thought I was.
I am not done yet...but here is my year in review on Goodreads. Fell short of my yearly goal...but read some great books!
Chapter 4 of Jane Eyre is now available to listen to on Anchor.

So Litsy hasnt been nice to me lately and has been giving me alot of trouble. This morning when I tried to post my goodies from my swap it said i kept putting the wrong password but wouldnt let me change it. So i remember we can now go on by the web and my password worked and it says ive been here since 2016 😳 i knew ive been here awhile but didnt know it was that long!!!
This is the container I used last night to add in books that I want to buy. It‘s already full too. Hopefully when I start buying books from this jar, I can start emptying it out but this one is perfect because it says Joy on it and buying books brings me joy.
Part two- you just saw my happy dance...now stand back & witness my elated hyperventilating dance. You hit the nail in the head...where did you find the graphic novel and perfect book bag? Omg! I can NOT wait to add these to my October reading list! ❤️your theme of creepy houses in the woods! Consider yourself an A+ gifter! Themes to gifts are my jam! Haha You definitely made October amazingly scary! Thank you so much!
#screamathon @4thhouseontheleft part one will arrive by Friday @lele1432 part 2 will arrive next week. Logistical issues because I was turned away at the post office...haha. Fear not!
I haven‘t read any of them yet. The one that I‘m wanting to start is Nightcrawlers. The good thing is that there are no due dates so you can take as long as you need to in order to finish but until I read these books, I can‘t borrow anything else. I‘ve reached the borrowing limit. I got excited when I found out I could borrow books on Amazon Prime so I just picked what I wanted to borrow and now I have a bunch of books to read.
