Soft pick. Very suspenseful, definitely kept me reading, but I don‘t know that it will stand out in the long run.

Selena meets a woman on the train in a moment when she is pretty vulnerable. She tells the woman a secret, and the woman tells her a secret as well. Selena thinks nothing of it until her secret comes true. I read this one in a day.
“When we narrate our experience, we take control of it. And in controlling the story of our past, we can create a better future.”

Another great book from Lisa Unger. I think she will become another one of my favorite authors. A twisty turny psychological thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Who is Martha and does she mean harm or does she want to help Selena?
“Selena Murphy is commuting home on the train when she strikes up a conversation with a beautiful stranger in the next seat. The woman introduces herself as Martha and soon confesses that she‘s been stuck in an affair with her boss. Selena, in turn, confesses that she suspects her husband is sleeping with the nanny. When the train arrives at Selena‘s station, the two women part ways, presumably never to meet again.
Then the nanny disappears.”

Good thriller with lots of twists (somewhat predictable but still compelling)
Confessions on the 7:45 is a great suspenseful, thriller! I loved listening to every minute. Lisa Unger‘s introduction of many characters instantly got my mind whirling and trying to figure out how, if at all, these characters were tied to each other. It was confusing, but in a good way. I like it when a story makes my mind work to solve a puzzle. 🧡💛🤎

Didn‘t think this will be an April book but…. I finished it! Lots of twists and turns. I really enjoyed it.
My babies behaving (some of y‘all seen this in socials). Lobster and Zoey
Lobster 🦞 is behaving so I might be able to get a good start of this one. #CatsOfLitsy
So at first I thought this book was okay. But then I feel like it became a hot mess. It was very predictable and I'm really sick of the woe is me I am a woman and can't do anything for myself plot. It's old. Also the all men suck no matter what plot.. just not into it. 1/5
Finished while out with my little man 🎧😊. Kind of predictable but I wasn‘t sure how things would play out. I‘m really enjoyed the story and I‘m glad I finally got to it! 🌟🌟🌟🌟 #AwesomeAugust
Theo is beat after watching me workout and chase the kid around.
Really enjoying the audiobook while being outside! Seriously wondering when the shoe is going to drop with it. 😳 #awesomeaugust
This was an excellent, dark and mysterious story that has a multide of layers that really kept you engaged in the story. I'll be reading Lisa Unger again. Great introduction to her work.
I felt this domestic thriller was repetitive in its message and in its plot points. The wrongs of men ignored by women in their life for far too long results in….this? I just can‘t get behind this plot line.
Oh, this was good - I'm a bit burnt out on thrillers that are just one ridiculous twist after another so this slow, steady build of this until it exploded really worked for me. The twists were more like curves or bends that actually made sense and the tension was just right. I'm surprised I haven't read Unger before, if all of her work is like this, I've got a good time ahead of me.
This one kept me guessing. I haven‘t read anything else by this author and would give her a few 🌟 for this one. Another find through my overdrive. Can‘t resist the suggestions lately from them. #AVerryMerryReadathon. #Adventathon. #wintercosy.
On chapter 9 of Confessions on the 7:45 and might I say that Anne seems to have the traits of psychopathy, I'm intrigued!
This week I finished this one which is the first audiobook I‘ve ever listened to.
Unfortunately it‘s not the best thriller I‘ve read and I wasn‘t really a fan of the many changes in perspective. Sadly it also didn‘t really surprise me.
It‘s important to mention that I don‘t really love listening to audiobooks so my opinion might be influenced by that 😅 Reading a physical book is definitely something I enjoy more!
3/6📚
I‘ve never read anything by Lisa Unger before and I was thrilled with this novel! I really enjoyed it and I couldn‘t put it down! I already want to read her other books! 🌟🌟🌟🌟!
I found this to be an intriguing psych thriller - the twists kept me just off balance enough to really keep me turning the pages. Today was a "do nothing but lay in bed and read" kind of day and this really fit the bill! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Candle is called Sunshine and Daffodils, the flowers are cheery so it‘s time perfect for diving into this one.
I ended up throughly enjoying this domestic thriller. At first, the multitude of perspectives kept throwing me off. It felt disjointed, but towards the middle of the book, it got much better and all started adding up. Some of the adding was a surprise, but some plot points were easy to put together. It had a decent ending and I‘d recommend it to a thriller lover.
An engrossing psychological thriller, with vivid writing and well fleshed woman characters.
I liked the twists and turns of this book! It was an easy book to pick up and put down and the story was interesting and fun to read. Not a real thought provoker, or anything I‘d recommend for a book club, but a good weekend book!
So Lisa Unger has done it again. This novel was everything I needed for this month. It made me view con artists in a different way. Even though you‘re married to someone, how well do you truly know your partner? How one can have so many identities? Maybe being with someone who is predictable is better than being with someone who is wild/free-spirited. Once a cheater, always a cheater. How can someone who does bad things, have a good heart?
I am so excited to read this novel! This book was given to me by one of my coworkers as a birthday gift (Feb.22). Lisa Unger is my favourite author so I know I will enjoy her latest novel to the fullest 🥰😊
Overall I really enjoyed this book. It's the type of book I don't read a lot of, so i never see the twists coming. This kept me intrigued and engaged and i liked the way the puzzle pieces all fit together. I'd probably try another of hers in the future.
Halfway thru and should finish it today. It isn't my usual type of read but once in a while I like reading these types of books. Still don't know where it's going 🧐
I stopped at my library. I was looking for 2 specific Stephen King books, The Green Mile & The Shawshank Redemption. They had neither. 😐
They had these 3, though, that were all on my want to reads list, so these are my weekend reads. I haven't felt like anything i have at home, anyway.
I'm going to start with Confessions because I always go by page count when I can't decide.
Selena seems to have the perfect life with a house, a husband and two little boys. But we never really know what goes on behind closed doors, and Selena has just learned her husband Graham is sleeping with the nanny.
After catching them on her nanny cam, Selena meets a stranger on the train and confesses what she just learned about her husband.
Only days later, the nanny disappears.
Who is the stranger from the train?
Definitely recommend!
This was twisty and engaging. I was certainly invested in seeing how the story played out and I was not disappointed. One of the things I liked best was that- good or bad- all the characters were nuanced, with shades of grey. The evil characters had positive traits while the good ones had unattractive traits and even the most morally neutral characters weren't "flat." They all seemed real.
I was on the waiting list at the library for a long time for this book and expected more 🤷🏻♀️. It was good but not great.

I could see my current read (well, one of them) as a potential #BeachRead, thriller type. I'm not connecting with the characters and about to set it aside for now though. Maybe I would enjoy it more if it was summer here too? 🤷♀️
It was fine? I finished it, but I‘m probably not going to continue to seek out her books.
1. Peloton - we‘ve had in since November but I‘m really starting to see it‘s value in the new year.
2. Celebrating 30 years with this guy!! Our Anniversary was on Tuesday.

So I stopped reading Lisa Unger books a few years ago because of some questionable undertones/politics I read in her books. It was not one thing but many things that I was finding from book to book. I‘ve seen some good reviews for this one so I‘m going to give her another shot.
